AUTO COOL DRY FAN HEAT Notes in HEAT mode: At the eginning of the opertion, the indoor unit opertes t very low fn speed for out minutes for preprtion, then switches to the selected fn speed. Automtic defrosting opertion overrides the heting opertion when necessry. TEMP. (temperture) uttons Sets the desired temperture. In COOL or DRY mode, the temperture needs to e set lower thn the current room temperture. In HEAT mode, the temperture needs to e set higher thn the current room temperture. Otherwise, corresponding opertion mode my not strt. Temperture setting rnge AUTO/COOL/DRY 6-88 F (80 C) HEAT F (60 C) Temperture control is not ville in FAN mode. To chnge the temperture unit.. Press the TEMP. (Up) utton ( ) for t lest seconds to disply the current temperture unit. (Fctory setting: F). Press the TEMP. uttons ( / ) to switch the temperture unit. ( F C). In ctul opertion, the disply is linked with the utton opertion, nd only shows the necessry indictors for ech setting. POWERFUL utton Activtes the POWERFUL opertion. The unit will operte t mximum power nd strong irfl ow to quickly cool down or wrm up the room. When ctivted, the indoor unit will emit short eeps. To turn off, press the POWERFUL utton gin. The indoor unit will then emit short eeps. POWERFUL opertion is utomticlly turned off in the following situtions: Adjusted room temperture reches the set temperture in COOL, DRY, or HEAT mode. 0 minutes hve pssed fter the POWERFUL opertion mode hs een set. Even in situtions ove, the POWERFUL opertion will not utomticlly turn off unless it hs run for certin mount of time. The irfl ow direction nd the fn speed re controlled utomticlly. This opertion cnnot e performed simultneously with ECONOMY opertion. POWERFUL opertion will override the OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE, ENERGY SAVING functions. Both functions, if set, will strt fter the POWERFUL opertion is turned off. 6 MIN. (MINIMUM) HEAT utton Strts MIN. HEAT opertion tht mintins the room temperture t 0 F (0 C) so s to prevent the room temperture to drop too low. When you press the utton to strt the MIN. HEAT opertion, the indoor unit emits short eeps nd the ECONOMY indictor (green) turns on. In MIN. HEAT opertion mode, only verticl irfl ow direction cn e djusted y using SET utton. HEAT mode will not e performed if the room temperture is wrm enough. Signl trnsmitter Aim t the signl receiver of the indoor unit properly. Signl trnsmit indictor on the remote controller disply shows tht the signl from the remote controller is eing trnsmitted. Operting rnge is pproximtely ft ( m). You will her eep if the trnsmitted signl hs een sent properly. If there is no eep, press the utton on the remote controller gin. 8 FAN utton Controls the fn speed. (AUTO) (HIGH) (MED) (LOW) (QUIET) When AUTO is selected, the fn speed is utomticlly djusted ccording to the opertion mode. 9 SWING utton Sets the utomtic swing opertion. Ech time the SWING utton is pressed, the opertion will chnge. This opertion cnnot e performed simultneously with FAN, DRY nd POWERFUL opertion modes. M ECONOMY utton Strts or stops ECONOMY opertion tht sves more electricity thn other opertion modes y chnging the set temperture to moderte setting. By pressing the ECONOMY utton, the ECONOMY indictor on the indoor unit turns on. In COOL or DRY mode, the room temperture will e djusted few degrees higher thn the set temperture. In HEAT mode, the room temperture will e djusted few degrees lower thn the set temperture. In COOL, HEAT, or DRY mode, the mximum output of this opertion is pproximtely 0 % of usul ir conditioning opertion. This opertion cnnot e performed during temperture monitoring y AUTO mode. Remote controller custom code setting Use the following steps to select the custom code of the remote controller. (Note tht the ir conditioner cnnot receive custom code if the ir conditioner hs not een set for the custom code.). Press the START/STOP utton until only the clock is displyed on the remote controller disply.. Press the MODE utton for t lest fi ve seconds to disply the current custom code (initilly set to A).. Press the SET TEMP. ( / ) utton to chnge the custom code etween A B C D. Mtch the code on the disply to the ir conditioner custom code.. Press the MODE utton gin to return to the clock disply. The custom code will e chnged. If no uttons re pressed within 0 seconds fter the custom code is displyed, the system returns to the originl clock disply. In this cse, strt gin from step. Timer Opertion The ir conditioner custom code is set to A prior to shipment. Contct your retiler to chnge the custom code. The remote controller resets to custom code A when the tteries in the remote controller re replced. If you use custom code other thn custom code A, reset the custom code fter replcing the tteries. If you do not know the ir conditioner custom code setting, try ech of the custom codes (A B C D) until you fi nd the code which opertes the ir conditioner. Wired Remote Controller (Option) The optionl wired remote controller cn e used. When you use remote controller, there re following different points s compred with using wireless remote controller. HEAT OPERATION POWERFUL OPERATION ENERGY SAVING PROGRAM OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE OPERATION Note for timer settings: Any interruption of the power supply, such s lckout or cutting off of circuit reker, mkes the set internl clock go wrong. In such cse, the TIMER indictor on the indoor unit links, nd you need to redjust the setting. ON timer or OFF timer You cn set the ON timer or OFF timer with the following steps.... Press the TIMER SETTING utton to strt the setting. The WEEKLY indictor will e fl shing on the remote controller. Press the SELECT utton to choose the desired mode. The mode will chnge s follows: WEEKLY ON/OFF (ON) ON/OFF (OFF) ON/OFF (ON OFF) SLEEP (OFF) Press the NEXT utton. Continue to setting for ech mode. * To cncel timer setting during the setting process, press the TIMER SETTING utton gin.. Adjust the time y pressing the SELECT utton while the clock indictor is linking. Ech time you press the utton, the time will chnge y +/- minutes. Pressing down will chnge the time y +0/-0 minutes.. Either of the timer whose configured strting time is closer to the current time works fi rst, nd the order of timer opertion is displyed s follows: Timer ONOFF timer Indictor on remote controller disply OFFON timer To set the progrm timer, conduct the sme steps ~ for the ON/ OFF timer. You cnnot use the WEEKLY timer together with the other timers. If you wnt to run the product on WEEKLY timer fter using the ON/ OFF Timer, Progrm Timer, or SLEEP Timer while the WEEKLY timer is running, you need to ctivte the WEEKLY timer gin. To set the WEEKLY timer, fi rst follow steps ~ on pge for the ON/OFF timer.. Select the progrm numer nd the dy using the SELECT utton. Press the SEND utton to finish Press the NEXT utton. Press the SELECT utton to set the desired ON time or OFF time. If you selected OFF in step. Press the NEXT utton to go ck to step nd confi gure the next setting.. Press the SEND utton. Press the NEXT utton. Press the SELECT utton to set the temperture. If you wnt to move on to the next setting, press the NEXT utton, return to step nd confi gure the next setting. To complete the setting, press the SEND utton. If you wnt to cncel the setting midwy, plese press the TIMER SETTING utton insted of pressing the SEND utton. When cnceling the WEEKLY timer, select No Timer Opertion in Step in the WEEKLY timer setting. If you wnt to go ck to the previous step when confi guring settings, press the BACK utton to return to the previous step. Press the SEND utton, when you re close to the min unit. If you do so when fr from the min unit, the signl my not get properly sent, nd the settings my not get properly configured. To check the schedule, repet steps to to enter the WEEKLY timer mode, then use the SELECT utton to rowse through the WEEKLY timer settings in the order shown in step. Energy Sving progrm is on t the time of purchse.. To ctivte the Energy Sving progrm, press the SENSOR utton. indictor will e fl shing on the remote controller disply.. To dectivte the Energy Sving progrm, press the SENSOR utton gin. will no longer e shown on the remote controller disply. Aout the ENERGY SAVING Opertion If no one enters the room for pproximtely 0 minutes, the set temperture will e utomticlly controlled. (When someone comes ck into the room, the humn sensor will detect this, nd utomticlly revert to the originl settings.) Opertion mode COOL/DRY HEAT AUTO Operting detils (if there is no one in the room for while) The set temperture will e incresed y mximum of pproximtely F ( C). The set temperture will e decresed y mximum of pproximtely 8 F ( C). This runs the ENERGY SAVING function utomticlly for the selected mode (Cooling/ Heting/ Drying). When using together with the SLEEP timer (pge 6), the SLEEP timer will e prioritized. During MIN. HEAT opertion, if there is no one in the room the set temperture will not e chnged. Situtions in which the sensor will incorrectly detect people in the room, even when there is no one there When there is dog or ct moving round in the room. Generl Informtions on Opertion Automtic defrosting opertion When outdoor temperture is very low with high humidity, frost my form on the outdoor unit during the heting opertion, nd it could reduce the operting performnce of the product. For frost protection, microcomputer-controlled utomtic defrost function is equipped in this ir conditioner. If frost forms, the ir conditioner will temporrily stop, nd defrost circuit will operte riefl y (mximum of minutes.) OPERATION indictor on the indoor unit links during this opertion. If frost forms on the outdoor unit fter the heting opertion, the outdoor unit will stop utomticlly fter it opertes for few minutes. Then the utomtic defrosting opertion strts. Do not stnd on slippery, uneven or unstle surfces when you mintin the unit. Dily cre When clening the indoor unit ody, mind the following: Do not use wter hotter thn 0 F (0 C). Do not use scouring clenser, voltile solvents such s enzene or thinner. Wipe the unit gently y using soft cloth.. While holding the grille horizontl, set the left nd right mounting shfts into the pillow locks t the top of the pnel. To ltch ech shft properly, insert the shft until it snps. Then close the intke grille. Clening the intke grille. Open the intke grille in direction of the rrow. While gently pressing the left nd right mounting shfts of the intke grille outwrd, remove the intke grille in direction of the rrow c. c c. Press plces on the intke grille to close it completely.. Wsh the intke grille gently with wter or wipe it gently with soft cloth moisten with wrm wter. Then wipe it with dry nd soft cloth. En-8

Open the intke grille. (Refer to of step in Clening the intke grille.). While holding the intke grille with your hnd, pull up the hndle of the fi lter in direction of the rrow nd relese the clws. Then pull the fi lter out with gently sliding it downwrd c... Attch new or mintined ir clening fi lter d to the fi lter holder. New ir clening fi lter cn e ttched to either of the right holder or the left holder. d Ltch corners of the fi lter holder e to the ir fi lter fi rmly. e e c. Filter holder nd ir clening fi lter re ttched on the rer side of the ir fi lter. Remove them from the ir fi lter y unltching ech corner of the fi lter holder d.. 6. Reinstll the ir fi lter. (Refer to step 6 in Clening the ir fi lter.) Close the intke grille fi rmly. (Refer to step in Clening the intke grille.) Following types of ir clening filters re used in this product. When you replce them, purchse dedicted ir clening fi lters for this product. d d APPLE-CATECHIN FILTER: UTR-FA d Remove dust y using vcuum clener or y wshing the fi lter. When you wsh the fi lter, use neutrl household detergent nd wrm wter. After rinse the filter well, dry it throughly in shded plce efore you reinstll it. Attch the ir clening fi lter nd the fi lter holder to ech ir fi lter. Attch the ir fi lter with ligning oth side of the fi lter with the front pnel, nd push in the fi lter fully. Note: Mke sure tht clws re fi rmly snpped to the guide holes on the pnel. Close the intke grille fi rmly. (Refer to step in Clening the intke grille.) Replcing the ir clening filter.. Remove the ir fi lter. (Refer to step in Clening the ir fi lter.) Relese ltches of the fi lter holder, nd turn over the holder in direction of rrow. Remove the soiled ir clening fi lter c. Note: Air clening fi lter is ttched on ech ir fi lter. d ( sheet) With using sttic electricity, purifi es the ir y removing fi ne prticles or dust such s tocco smoke or plnt pollen. This fi lter is disposle. Do not wsh or reuse it. Once you open the pckge, use it s soon s possile. The clening effect is reduced if the fi lter is left the pckge opened. Replce the fi lter once every months under norml use. With setting the fn speed high, the ir clening effect increses. ION DEODORIZATION FILTER (light lue): UTR-FA6- (Light lue, sheet) Contined super micro-cermic prticles produce negtive ir ions, tht is considered to hve deodorizing effect, sor nd reduce room smell. To mintin the deodorizing effect, clen the fi lter once every months s follows:. Remove the ion deodoriztion fi lter.. Flush the fi lter with high-pressure hot wter until the surfce of the filter is covered with wter.. Wsh the fi lter gently with diluted neutrl detergent. Do not wsh it y wringing or ruing to prevent reducing the deodorizing effect y dmge.. Rinse the fi lter well with wter fl ow.. Dry the fi lter thoroughly in shded plce. 6. Reinstll the ion deodoriztion filter to the indoor unit. Replce the fi lter once every yers under norml use. After extended non-use of the unit If you hve shut down the indoor unit for month or more, perform the FAN opertion for hlf dy to dry the internl prts throughly efore you perform norml opertion. In HEAT mode, the outdoor unit stops nd the indoor unit opertes t very low fn speed if the room temperture rises ove the set temperture. In HEAT mode, the indoor unit temporrily stops for mximum of minutes to perform the utomtic defrosting opertion while the OPERATION indictor is fl shing. In DRY mode, the indoor unit opertes t low fn speed to djust the room humidity, nd my stop from time to time. When the fn speed is set to QUIET, the fn rottes t very low speed nd the irfl ow is reduced. When monitoring opertion is performed in AUTO mode, the fn rottes t very low speed. During heting opertion, the outdoor unit my emit wter generted y the utomtic defrosting opertion. Before you cll for or request servicing, trouleshoot prolem y performing following checks: Symptom Dignostic See pge Does not operte t ll. Hs the circuit reker een turned off? Hs there een power outge? Hs fuse lown out or the circuit reker een tripped? Is the timer operting? Poor cooling or heting performnce. Is direct or strong sunlight shinning into the room in cooling opertion? Are there other heting pprtus or computers operting, or too mny people in the room in cooling opertion? The unit opertes differently from the remote controller setting. Is the fn speed set to QUIET? When the fn speed setting is set to QUIET, noise reduction is prioritized nd the ir-conditioning performnce my ecome lower. If the volume of provided irfl ow is not greele to your preference, set the fn speed to LOW or higher fn speed. Are the tteries used in the remote controller exhusted? Are the tteries used in the remote controller loded properly? Immeditely stop opertion nd turn off the electricl reker in following cses. Then consult uthorized service personnel.
