Use The urner controls of the LFL1... rnge re designed for the control nd supervision of forced drught gs urners of oth expnding flme nd interrupted pilot construction of medium to high cpcity. They re universlly pplicle nd cn e used for oth multistge nd modulting urners s well s for dul-fuel urners nd for urners of sttionry ir heters (WLE to DIN 4794). The difference etween series 01 nd 02 lies in the durtion of the sfety time for the pilot urner of urners using pilot gs vlves. For tmospheric urners of high cpcity, type LFL1.638 is ville. For urner controls used with urners in continuous opertion, refer to dt sheet 7785, types LGK echnicl design The urner controls re of plug-in design. Housing nd plug-in seplte consist of shock- nd het-resistnt lck plstic. The lockout indictor, the fult signl lmp nd the reset utton re locted in the viewing window of the unit. To terminl 4 or 5: contcts which must e closed from strtup to the controlled shutdown (otherwise no strt or controlled shutdown). To terminl 14: contcts which must e closed t the ltest t the eginning of the pre-ignition time nd which must remin closed until controlled shutdown occurs (otherwise lockout). This is vlid for oth long nd short pre-ignition. 5 Connection of fuel vlves with expnding flme urners. With two-stge urners, BV2 is connected insted of BV3. Connection of fuel vlves with interrupted pilot urners. The direct connection of fuel vlve to terminl 20 is permitted only in instlltions with min shutoff vlve on the mins side (sfety vlve) which is controlled y terminls 18 or 19, nd if two-stges vlves re used, provided they fully close when the 1st stge - which is controlled y terminl 18 or 19 - is switched off. 6 7 For further exmples of ir dmper control, refer to «Connection exmples». In the cse of ir dmper ctutors without limit switch «z» for the CLOSED position of the dmper, terminl 11 must e connected to terminl 10 (otherwise no urner strt). On completion of t16, the control commnd to open the ir dmper is given. During the ctutor's running time, the sequence mechnism stops, s terminl 8 - vi which the sequence mechnism is t first supplied with voltge - does not receive ny voltge during this time. The sequence mechnism continues to run only fter the ir dmper hs fully opened. Pre-purge time with ir dmper fully open During the pre-purge time, the correct functioning of the flme supervision circuit is tested (de-energizing of flme rely). The urner control goes into lockout position, if the rely does not function correctly. Shortly fter the eginning of the pre-purge time, the ir pressure monitor must chnge over from terminl 13 to terminl 14, otherwise the urner control initites lockout (strt of ir pressure check). t the sme time, terminl 14 must e under voltge, s the ignition trnsformer nd the fuel vlves re supplied with voltge vi this current pth of the circuit. fter completion of the pre-purge time, the urner control drives the ir dmper vi terminl 10 into the low-flme position which is determined y the chngeover point of the uxiliry switch «m». During the running time, the sequence mechnism stops gin. Shortly fter tht, the motor of the sequence mechnism is switched onto the control section of the urner control. Tht is why position signls to terminl 8 s of now do not ffect the further strtup of the urner (nd the susequent urner opertion): Intervl. fter hs elpsed, lod controller «L» is relesed vi terminl 20. With tht, the strtup sequence of the urner control ends. The sequence mechnism switches itself off, either immeditely or fter some so-clled «idle steps»; these re steps without chnge of the contct positions, depending on the time vrint. Pre-ignition time, then relese of fuel on terminl 18 Sfety time (strt lod) On completion of the sfety time, flme signl must e present t input 22 of the flme signl mplifier. It must e continuously present until controlled shutdown tkes plce, otherwise the urner control goes into lockout position nd interlocks itself in this position. Intervl. On completion of t4, terminl 19 is under voltge. Thus the fuel vlve t uxiliry switch «v» of the ir dmper ctutor is supplied with voltge. Pre-ignition time, then relese of fuel for the pilot urner t terminl 17. 1st sfety time (pilot lod) On completion of the sfety time, flme signl must e present t input 22 of the flme signl mplifier. It must e continuously present until controlled shutdown tkes plce, otherwise the urner control goes into lockout position nd interlocks itself in this position. Intervl up to the relese of the fuel vlve t terminl 19 for the strt lod of the min urner. 2nd sfety time. On completion of the 2nd sfety time, the min urner must hve een ignited y the pilot urner, since terminl 17 ecomes idle s soon s this time hs elpsed, cusing the closure of the pilot gs vlve. Operting position of urner Burner opertion During urner opertion, the lod controller drives the ir dmper to the nominl lod or low-flme position, depending on the demnd for het. 7 C t6 t13 D- Controlled shutdown During controlled shutdown, the fuel vlves re immeditely closed. t the sme time, the sequence mechnism strts nd progrms the Post-purge time (fn 2 t terminl 7). Shortly fter the strt of the post-purge time, terminl 10 receives voltge, so tht the ir dmper is driven to the IN position. The complete closing of the dmper strts only shortly efore the post-purge time hs elpsed, initited y the control signl on terminl 11, which lso remins under voltge during the following urner off period. Permissile fter-urn time. During this time, the flme supervision circuit my still receive flme signl without inititing urner lockout. End of control progrm (strt position) s soon s the sequence mechnism hs reset the control contcts into their strt position - on completion of t6 - the detector nd extrneous light test strts gin. During the urner off period, fulty flme signl of few seconds only initites lockout. Short ignition pulses of the UV tue, e.g. cused y cosmic rdition, do not initite urner lockout. Times t2, t3 nd t4 re only vlid for urner controls of series 01. Wrning notes In the geogrphicl res where DIN stndrds re in use, the instlltion must e in complince with VDE requirements, prticulrly with the stndrds DIN / VDE 0100 nd 0722! ll regultions nd stndrds pplicle to the prticulr ppliction must e oserved! Check wiring crefully efore putting the urner control into opertion! The LFL1... must e completely isolted from the mins efore performing ny work on it! Check ll sfety functions when putting the urner control into opertion or fter performing service work! Ensure protection ginst electric shock on the unit nd on ll electricl connections through pproprite mounting! Electromgnetic emissions must e checked from n ppliction point of view! When used in connection with Q..., terminl 22 must e erthed! 9 Connection exmples Douling of sfety time with expnding flme urners Only when urner control of series 01 is used. Due to these circuit mesures (connection of terminls 17 nd 18), the pre-ignition time is reduced to 50 %. Extension of the sfety time is permitted only if this is in complince with the stndrds of the respective country. Burner without ir dmper In cse of urners without ir dmper (or with n ir dmper not controlled nd supervised y the urner control unit), terminl 8 must e connected to terminl 6, s otherwise the urner control cnnot crry out the urner strtup.
