Improper instlltion or ttchment of equipment or ccessories could result in electric shock, short-circuit, leks, fire or other dmge to the equipment. Only use ccessories, optionl equipment nd spre prts mde or pproved by Dikin. 5 About the box..5 Electricl DANGER: RISK OF ELECTROCUTION Turn OFF ll power supply before removing the switch box cover, connecting electricl wiring or touching electricl prts. Disconnect the power supply for more thn minute, nd mesure the voltge t the terminls of min circuit cpcitors or electricl components before servicing. The voltge must be less thn 50 V DC before you cn touch electricl components. For the loction of the terminls, see the wiring digrm. Do NOT touch electricl components with wet hnds. Do NOT leve the unit unttended when the service cover is removed. About the box At delivery, the unit must be checked for dmge. Any dmge must be reported immeditely to the crrier s clims gent. Bring the pcked unit s close s possible to its finl instlltion position to prevent dmge during trnsport.. Indoor unit.. To unpck the indoor unit WARNING If not fctory instlled, min switch or other mens for disconnection, hving contct seprtion in ll poles providing full disconnection under overvoltge ctegory III condition, shll be instlled in the fixed wiring. WARNING Only use copper wires. All field wiring must be performed in ccordnce with the wiring digrm supplied with the product. NEVER squeeze bundled cbles nd mke sure they do not come in contct with the piping nd shrp edges. Mke sure no externl pressure is pplied to the terminl connections. Mke sure to instll erth wiring. 7 5 Appliction guidelines Demnd PCB (EKRPAHTA) To enble the power sving consumption control by digitl inputs you must instll the demnd PCB. For instlltion instructions, see the instlltion mnul of the demnd PCB nd ddendum book for optionl equipment. Remote indoor sensor (KRCS0-) By defult the internl user interfce sensor will be used s room temperture sensor. As n option the remote indoor sensor cn be instlled to mesure the room temperture on nother loction. For instlltion instructions, see the instlltion mnul of the remote indoor sensor nd ddendum book for optionl equipment. INFORMATION The remote indoor sensor cn only be used in cse the user interfce is configured with room thermostt functionlity. You cn only connect either the remote indoor sensor or the remote outdoor sensor. Remote outdoor sensor (EKRSCA) By defult the sensor inside the outdoor unit will be used to mesure the outdoor temperture. As n option the remote outdoor sensor cn be instlled to mesure the outdoor temperture on nother loction (e.g. to void direct sunlight) to hve n improved system behviour. For instlltion instructions, see the instlltion mnul of the remote outdoor sensor. INFORMATION You cn only connect either the remote indoor sensor or the remote outdoor sensor. PC configurtor (EKPCCAB) The PC cble mkes connection between the switch box of the indoor unit nd PC. It gives the possibility to uplod different lnguge files to the user interfce nd indoor prmeters to the indoor unit. For the vilble lnguge files, contct your locl deler. Overview: Appliction guidelines The purpose of the ppliction guidelines is to give glnce of the possibilities of the Dikin het pump system. The illustrtions in the ppliction guidelines re ment for reference only, nd re NOT to be used s detiled hydrulic digrms. Setting up the spce heting/cooling system The Dikin het pump system supplies leving wter to het emitters in one or more rooms. Becuse the system offers wide flexibility to control the temperture in ech room, you need to nswer the following questions first: How mny rooms re heted (or cooled) by the Dikin het pump system? Which het emitter types re used in ech room nd wht is their design leving wter temperture? Once the spce heting/cooling requirements re cler, Dikin recommends to follow the setup guidelines below. The Dikin externl room thermostt is vilble in wireless version. Efficiency. Although the externl room thermostt only sends ON/OFF signls, it is specificlly designed for the het pump system. Comfort. 10 5 Appliction guidelines Under floor heting or rditors Thermosttic vlves If you re heting up rooms with under floor heting or rditors, very common wy is to control the temperture of the min room by using thermostt (this cn either be the user interfce or n externl room thermostt), while the other rooms re controlled by so-clled thermosttic vlves, which open or close depending on the room temperture. Setting up n uxiliry het source for spce heting Spce heting cn be done by: The indoor unit An uxiliry boiler (field supply) connected to the system When the room thermostt requests heting, the indoor unit or the uxiliry boiler strts operting depending on the outdoor temperture (sttus of the chngeover to externl het source). When the permission is given to the uxiliry boiler, the spce heting by the indoor unit is turned OFF. Bivlent opertion is only possible for spce heting, NOT for domestic hot wter production. Domestic hot wter is lwys produced by the DHW tnk connected to the indoor unit. INFORMATION During heting opertion of the het pump, the het pump opertes to chieve the desired temperture set vi the user interfce. When wetherdependent opertion is ctive, the wter temperture is determined utomticlly depending on the outdoor temperture. During heting opertion of the uxiliry boiler, the uxiliry boiler opertes to chieve the desired wter temperture set vi the uxiliry boiler controller. The het pump itself cn produce domestic hot wter of mximum 55 C (50 C if outdoor temperture is low). The electricl resistnce integrted in the het pump cn higher this temperture. However, this consumes more energy. Dikin recommends to set the desired DHW tnk temperture below 55 C to void using the electricl resistnce. The higher the outdoor temperture, the better the performnce of the het pump. Outdoor mbient temperture In the outdoor unit, the outdoor mbient temperture is mesured. During suspend (see configurtion), the outdoor unit is turned down to reduce the stndby energy losses. As result, the outdoor mbient temperture is NOT red out. If the desired leving wter temperture is wether dependent, the full time outdoor temperture mesurement is importnt. This is nother reson to instll the optionl outdoor mbient temperture sensor. INFORMATION The externl outdoor mbient sensor dt (either verged or instntneous) is used in the wether-dependent control curves nd in the utomtic heting/cooling chngeover logic. When using non-brss metllic piping, insulte the brss nd non-brss properly so tht they do NOT mke contct with ech other. This to prevent glvnic corrosion. Never use Zn-coted prts in the wter circuit. Becuse the unit's internl wter circuit uses copper piping, excessive corrosion my occur. Only use pproprite tooling to hndle brss, which is soft mteril. If NOT, pipes will get dmged. Select the wter piping dimeter in reltion to the required wter flow nd the vilble externl sttic pressure of the pump. See "4 Technicl dt" on pge 6 for the externl sttic pressure curves of the indoor unit. You cn find the minimum required wter flow for the indoor unit opertion in the following tble. When the wter flow is lower, flow error 7H will be displyed nd the indoor unit will be stopped. Model Minimum wter flow (l/min) When using -wy vlve in the wter circuit, the mximum chnge-over time of the vlve must be 60 seconds. It is strongly recommended to instll n dditionl filter on the heting wter circuit. Especilly to remove metllic prticles from the filed heting piping, it is dvised to use mgnetic or cyclone filter, which cn remove smll prticles. Smll prticles my dmge the unit nd will NOT be removed by the stndrd filter of the het pump system. If ir, moisture or dust gets into the wter circuit, problems my occur. To prevent this: Only use clen pipes Hold the pipe end downwrds when removing burrs. Cover the pipe end when inserting it through wll, to prevent dust nd/or prticles entering the pipe. Use decent thred selnt to sel connections. For sfety resons, it is NOT llowed to dd ny kind of glycol to the wter circuit. To void stgntion of wter, it is importnt tht the storge cpcity of the domestic hot wter tnk meets the dily consumption of domestic hot wter. In cses where during longer periods of time there is no consumption of hot wter, the equipment must be flushed with fresh wter before usge. The disinfection function provided on the equipment is specified in the opertion mnul of the indoor unit. It is recommended to void long runs of piping between the domestic hot wter tnk nd the hot wter end point (shower, bth, ) nd to void ded ends. The instlltion must be in complince with the pplicble legisltion nd my require dditionl hygienic instlltion mesures. In ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion, it my be necessry to instll thermosttic mixing vlves. Immeditely fter instlltion, the domestic hot wter tnk must be flushed with fresh wter. This procedure must be repeted t lest once dy the first 5 consecutive dys fter instlltion. In ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion, it my be required to connect recircultion pump in between the hot wter end point nd the recircultion connection of the domestic hot wter tnk. The totl wter volume in the wter circuit is 00 l. No ctions or djustments re required. Exmple The indoor unit is instlled t the highest point in the wter circuit. The totl wter volume in the wter circuit is 50 l. Actions: Becuse the totl wter volume (50 l) is more thn the defult wter volume (80 l), the pre-pressure must be decresed. The required pre-pressure is: Pg = (0.+(H/0)) br = (0.+(0/0)) br=0. br. The corresponding mximum wter volume t 0. br is 40 l. (See the grph in the chpter bove). Screw the indoor unit nuts on the shut-off vlves. Connect the domestic hot wter in nd out pipes to the indoor unit. A drin device nd pressure relief device should be instlled on the cold wter inlet connection of the domestic hot wter cylinder. To void bck siphonge, it is recommended to instll non-return vlve on the wter inlet of the domestic hot wter tnk in ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion. It is recommended to instll pressure reducing vlve on the cold wter inlet in ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion. An expnsion vessel should be instlled on the cold wter inlet in ccordnce with the pplicble legisltion. It is recommended to instll the pressure relief vlve on higher position s top of the domestic hot wter tnk. Heting of the domestic hot wter tnk cuses wter to expnd nd without pressure relief vlve the wter pressure inside the tnk cn rise bove the tnk design pressure. Also the field instlltion (piping, tpping points, etc.) connected to the tnk is subjected to this high pressure. To prevent this, pressure relieve vlve needs to be instlled. The overpressure prevention depends on the correct opertion of the field instlled pressure relief vlve. If this is NOT working correctly, overpressure will deform the tnk nd wter lekge my occur. To confirm good opertion, regulr mintennce is required. 7.. To detect possible miswiring, it is highly recommended to mesure the resistnce vlue of the heter elements. See To open the indoor unit. Plug the hinges into the bckside of the front pnel. The instller cn prepre the configurtion off-site on PC nd fterwrds uplod the configurtion to the system with the PC configurtor. See "8.. When power is turned on for the first time, both user interfces disply: Push for 4 sec. on the user interfce on which you wnt to proceed to the quick wizrd. 40 8 Configurtion Leving wter temperture: Modultion Only pplicble in cse of room thermostt control. When using the room thermostt functionlity, the customer needs to set the desired room temperture. The unit will supply hot wter to the het emitters nd the room will be heted. Additionlly, lso the desired leving wter temperture must be configured: when turning on the modultion, the desired leving wter temperture will be clculted utomticlly by the unit (bsed on the preset tempertures, if wether-dependent is selected, modultion will be done bsed on the desired wether-dependent tempertures); when turning off the modultion, you cn set the desired leving wter temperture on the user interfce. Moreover, with the modultion turned on, the desired leving wter temperture is lowered or rised in function of the desired room temperture nd the difference between the ctul nd the desired room temperture. When Automtic is selected, the chnging of the opertion mode is bsed on: Monthly llownce for heting nd/or cooling: the end-user indictes on monthly bse which opertion is llowed (# [7:5]): both heting/cooling or heting only or cooling only. Overview: Commissioning Commissioning typiclly consists of the following stges: Checking the "Checklist before test run". Performing n ir purge. Performing test run for the system. 4 If necessry, performing test run for one or more ctutors. 5 If necessry, performing n underfloor heting screed dryout. 9. Checklist before test run Do NOT operte the system before the following checks re OK: The indoor unit is properly mounted. The outdoor unit is properly mounted. When the ir purge function is running, the pump opertes without ctul opertion of the unit nd the remove of ir in the wter circuit will strt. There re modes to purge ir: Mnully: the unit will operte with fixed pump speed nd in fixed or custom position of the -wy vlve. The custom position of the -wy vlve is helpful feture to remove ll ir from the wter circuit in spce heting or domestic hot wter heting mode. The opertion speed of the pump (slow or quick) cn lso be set. Automtic: the unit chnge utomticlly the pump speed nd the position of the -wy vlve between spce heting or domestic hot wter heting mode. The ir purge function stops utomticlly fter 0 minutes. INFORMATION It is recommended to strt the ir purge function in mnully mode. The instller is resposible to: contct the screed mnufcturer for the initil heting instructions to void crcking the screed, progrm the underfloor heting screed dryout schedule ccording to the bove instruction of the screed mnufcturer, check on regulr bse the good working of the setup, select the correct progrm tht complies the type of used screed for the floor. 58 Troubleshooting Chemicl disinfection If the pplicble legisltion requires chemicl disinfection in specific situtions, involving the domestic hot wter tnk, plese be wre tht the domestic hot wter tnk is stinless steel cylinder contining n luminium node. We recommend to use nonchloride bsed disinfectnt pproved for use with wter intended for humn consumption. When using mens for descling or chemicl disinfection, it must be ensured tht the wter qulity remins complint with EU directive 98/8 EC. Anode No mintennce or replcement required... To drin the domestic hot wter tnk Switch OFF the power supply. Turn OFF the cold wter supply. Open the hot wter tps. 4 Open the drin vlve. Troubleshooting. Overview: Troubleshooting.
