7 Generl informtion Function Construction with spring return ctutor Functionl description The spring return ctutor enbles the motorised opening nd closing of the dmper blde; it cn be ctivted by the centrl BMS. In the event of fire, the dmper is triggered thermoelectriclly t 72 C or 95 C (use in wrm ir ventiltion systems). As long s power is supplied to the ctutor, the dmper blde remins open. If the supply voltge fils, the dmper closes (power off to close). Motorised fire dmpers cn be used to shut off ducts. The torque of ech ctutor is sufficient to open nd close the dmper blde even while the fn is running. The spring return ctutor is fitted with limit switches tht cn be used for cpturing the dmper blde position. The fire dmper is suitble for supply ir nd extrct ir systems in potentilly explosive tmospheres. For the opertion of the fire dmper, the operting nd instlltion mnul nd the technicl dt in the dditionl operting mnul must be observed. 9 Generl informtion Function Air trnsfer dmper Functionl description Air trnsfer dmpers re designed to shut off openings for ir trnsfer in fire resistnt internl wlls nd ceiling slbs. To prevent smoke from spreding in buildings, it is extremely importnt tht the smoke is detected t n erly stge. Duct smoke detector Type RM-O-3-D is required to control nd trigger the ir trnsfer dmper. The smoke detector opertes on the principle of light scttering nd detects the smoke regrdless of its temperture so tht the fire dmpers cn be closed before the relese temperture is reched. The thermoelectric relese mechnism of the spring return ctutor lso triggers the closure of the dmper blde. When the relese temperture (72 C) is reched, the temperture sensor in the irflow interrupts the supply voltge to the spring return ctutor. The spring return in the ctutor cuses the fire dmper to close (power off to close). A second temperture sensor monitors the mbient temperture. If the supply voltge fils, the dmper closes.
