In initil setting, this function is ctivte. To inctivte the function, consult the instller or uthorize service personnel. Even if the setting is chnge, if the fn spee is set to AUTO in COOL or DRY moe, this function still works to suppress the iffusion of circulte inoor humiity. SET TEMP. In COOL/DRY moe, the vlue nees to e set t lower temperture thn current room temperture, n in HEAT moe, the vlue nees to e set t higher temperture thn current room temperture. 4 Remote Controller Overview n Opertions Remote controller isply In this section, ll the possile inictors re isplye for escription. In ctul opertion, the isply is linke with the utton opertion, n only shows the necessry inictors for ech setting. POWERFUL utton The prouct will operte t mximum power, which is convenient when you wnt to quickly cool own or wrm up the room. When you press the utton to strt the POWERFUL opertion, the inoor unit emits short eeps. POWERFUL opertion is utomticlly turne off in the following situtions: Ajuste room temperture reche to the efi ne temperture in temperture setting in COOL, DRY, or HEAT moe. 0 minutes hve psse fter fi nishing the POWERFUL opertion moe setting. It is not turne off utomticlly uring setting of the POWERFUL opertion. The irfl ow irection n the fn spee re controlle utomticlly. This opertion cnnot e performe simultneously with ECONOMY opertion. To return to norml opertion, press the utton gin. Then the inoor unit emits short eeps. 0 C HEAT utton Strts 0 C HEAT opertion tht minins the room temperture t 0 C so s to prevent the room temperture to rop too low. When you press the utton to strt the 0 C HEAT opertion, the inoor unit emits short eeps n the ECONOMY inictor (green) turns on. In 0 C HEAT opertion moe, only verticl irfl ow irection cn e juste y using utton. HEAT moe will not e performe if the room temperture is wrm enough. In multi-type ir conitioning system, if other inoor unit is in HEAT moe, the temperture of the room where 0 C HEAT opertion is performe will rise. When performing 0 C HEAT opertion, ll the inoor units shoul e run in 0 C HEAT opertion moe. To return to norml opertion, press the START/STOP utton. The ECONOMY inictor turns off. 7 Signl trnsmitter Aim to signl receiver of the inoor unit properly. Signl trnsmit inictor on the remote controller isply shows tht signl from the remote controller is eing trnsmitte. Operting rnge is pproximtely 7 m. You will her eep if the trnsmitte signl hs een sent properly. If there is no eep, press the utton on the remote controller gin. 8 FAN utton Controls the fn spee. (AUTO) (HIGH) (MED) (LOW) (QUIET) When AUTO is selecte, the fn spee is utomticlly juste ccoring to the opertion moe. 9 SWING utton Strts or stops utomtic swing of the verticl irfl ow irection louver. Ech time you press the utton, the verticl irfl ow irection louver swings s follows: 7 COOL, DRY, or FAN moe HEAT or FAN moe 7 SWING opertion my stop temporrily when the fn in the unit is rotting t very low spee or stopping. In FAN moe, either of swing irection or 7 is performe in ccornce with the verticl irfl ow irection previously set efore you strt the SWING opertion. 0 SET utton Ajusts the verticl irfl ow irection. SLEEP timer utton See pge Activtes the SLEEP timer tht helps you to fll sleep comfortly with grul temperture control. Timer CANCEL utton Cncels the set timer. RESET utton When you press the RESET utton, press it gently y using the tip of llpoint pen or other smll oject in correct irection s shown in this fi gure. RESET CLOCK ADJUST utton See pge Cncels the set timer. OFF timer utton See pge Activtes the OFF timer. ON timer utton See pge Activtes the ON timer. 7 SELECT utton Use for justing the clock or timer. 8 OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE utton See pge Strts or stops OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE opertion tht lowers noise generte from the outoor unit y cutting own the rottion numer of the compressor, n suppressing the fn spee till they re suffi ciently reuce. Once the opertion is set, the opertion setting is preserve until you press this utton gin to stop the opertion, even if the inoor unit opertion is stoppe. OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE inictor on the remote controller isply shows tht the unit is in OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE moe. This opertion cnnot e performe simultneously with following moes: FAN moe, DRY moe, POWERFUL opertion moe This opertion cnnot e performe on multi-type ir conitioner. If this moe is unintentionlly set on multi-type ir conitioner, cncel the setting y pressing the utton. Otherwise, the signl of the remote controller cnnot e trnsmitte properly. 9 ECONOMY utton Strts or stops ECONOMY opertion tht sves more electricity consumption thn the other opertions with conservtive justment of the room temperture. When you press the utton, the ECONOMY inictor on the inoor unit turns on. In COOL or DRY moe, the room temperture will e juste t few egree higher thn the efi ne temperture. In HEAT moe, the room temperture will e juste t few egree lower thn the efi ne temperture. Especilly in COOL or DRY moe, you cn hve improve ehumiifiction without significntly lowering the room temperture. In COOL, HEAT, or DRY moe, the mximum output of this opertion is pproximtely 70 % of usul ir conitioning opertion. This opertion cnnot e performe uring temperture monitoring y AUTO moe. In multi-type ir conitioning system, ECONOMY opertion is performe only on the inoor unit whose ECONOMY utton on the corresponing remote controller is presse. : The setting must e one while the inictor stys soli. : The utton is controllle only when the ir conitioner is on. In such cse, the TIMER inictor on the inoor unit links, n you nee to rejust the setting. ON timer or OFF timer Turn on the inoor unit y pressing the START/STOP utton. OPERATION inictor on the inoor unit turns on. If the inoor unit is lrey operting, skip this step. Press the ON timer utton or the OFF timer utton. Clock inictor on the remote controller isply strts linking, n TIMER inictor on the inoor unit turns on. Ajust the time y pressing the SELECT utton within out secons, while the clock inictor is linking. (Aout secons lter, the remote controller isply returns to stny screen.) To cncel the timer n return to the norml opertion, press the CANCEL utton. To reo the timer setting, perform step n. Progrm timer (comine use of the ON timer n the OFF timer) You cn set n integrte ONOFF or OFFON timer. Generl Informtions on Opertion Automtic efrosting opertion When outoor temperture is very low with high humiity, frost my form on the outoor unit uring the heting opertion, n it coul reuce the operting performnce of the prouct. For frost protection, microcomputer-controlle utomtic efrost function is equippe in this ir conitioner. If frost forms, the ir conitioner will temporrily stop, n efrost circuit will operte riefl y (mximum of minutes.) OPERATION inictor on the inoor unit links uring this opertion. If frost forms on the outoor unit fter the heting opertion, the outoor unit will stop utomticlly fter it opertes for few minutes. Then the utomtic efrosting opertion strts. Auto-restrt function In event of power interruption such s lckout, the ir conitioner stops once. But it restrts utomticlly n performs previous opertion when the power supply is resume. If ny power interruption occurs fter the timer is set, counting own of the timer will e reset. After the power supply is resume, the TIMER inictor on the inoor unit links to notify you tht there hs een timer fult. In such cse, reset the timer for your opportune time. Mlfunctions cuse y other electricl evices: Use of other electricl pplinces such s n electric shver or nery use of wireless rio trnsmitter my cuse the mlfunction of the ir conitioner. If you encounter such mlfunction, turn off the circuit reker once. Then turn it on gin, n resume opertion y using the remote controller. If you chnge the setting vlue for the timer fter the progrm timer is set, the counting own of the timer will e reset t tht moment. Time setting for ech comintion shoul e within spn of hours. SLEEP timer Press the SLEEP timer utton to ctivte the SLEEP timer. OPERATION inictor n TIMER inictor on the inoor unit turns on. Ajust the time y pressing the SELECT utton within out secons, while the clock inictor is linking. (Aout secons lter, the remote controller isply returns to stny screen.) Ech time you press the utton, the time chnges s follows: (0 min.) hours To repet the timer, press the SLEEP timer utton when inictor is not isplye on the remote controller isply. To help you to fll sleep comfortly n prevent excessive wrming or cooling in sleep, the SLEEP timer controls the temperture setting utomticlly in ccornce with the set time shown s follows. The ir conitioner completely turns off fter the set time hs elpse. Simultneous use of multiple inoor units If or more inoor units re operte simultneously, the heting n cooling efficiency will e less thn the efficiency in single use of the inoor unit. Comine use of other uxiliry heting or cooling pprtus is recommene. Following comintions cnnot e performe when multiple inoor units re operte: - HEAT moe n COOL moe (or DRY moe) - HEAT moe n FAN moe The inoor unit operte fterwr stops n the OPERA- TION inictor fl shes. The operting moe (HEAT, COOL, n DRY) of the outoor unit is etermine y the operting moe of the inoor unit tht is operte first. If the inoor unit is strte in FAN moe, the operting moe of the outoor unit cnnot e etermine. For exmple, if inoor unit (A) is strte in FAN moe n then inoor unit (B) is operte in HEAT moe, inoor unit (A) will temporrily strt opertion in FAN moe ut when inoor unit (B) strte opertion in HEAT moe, the OPERATION inictor (green) on the inoor unit (A) will egin to link ( secon on, secon off) n go into stny moe. Inoor unit (B) will continue to operte in HEAT moe. In HEAT moe, the top of the inoor unit my ecome wrm y emitte het of circulte coolnt through the inoor unit, even if the unit opertion is stoppe. 6 Cre n Clening Before clening the inoor unit, e sure to turn it off n ll the power supply hs een isconnecte. Before strting opertion, mke sure tht the intke grille hs een shut completely. Do not touch the luminum fi ns of het exchnger uilt-in the inoor unit to voi personl injury when you mintin the unit. Do not expose the inoor unit to liqui insecticies or hir sprys. Do not stn on slippery, uneven or unstle surfces when you mintin the unit. Dily cre When clening the inoor unit oy, min the following: Do not use wter hotter thn 0 C. Do not use scouring clenser, voltile solvents such s enzene or thinner. Wipe the unit gently y using soft cloth. Clening the intke grille Open the intke grille in irection of the rrow. While gently pressing the left n right mounting shfts of the intke grille outwr, remove the intke grille in irection of the rrow c. Clening the ir filters Min tht you hve perioicl clening of the ir fi lters to prevent reucing the opertion effi ciency of the prouct. Using of clogge ir filter with ust will lower the prouct performnce, n my cuse irfl ow reuction or increse of operting noise. Clen the ir fi lters once every weeks uner norml use. Open the intke grille. (Refer to of step in Clening the intke grille.) While holing the intke grille with your hn, pull up the hnle of the filter in irection of the rrow n relese the clws. Then pull the filter out with gently sliing it ownwr c. c c c Filter holer n ir clening fi lter re ttche on the rer sie of the ir filter. Remove them from the ir fi lter y unltching ech corner of the fi lter holer. Wsh the intke grille gently with wter or wipe it gently with soft cloth moisten with wrm wter. Then wipe it with ry n soft cloth. While holing the grille horizontl, set the left n right mounting shfts into the pillow locks t the top of the pnel. To ltch ech shft properly, insert the shft until it snps. Then close the intke grille. Remove ust y using vcuum clener or y wshing the fi lter. When you wsh the fi lter, use neutrl househol etergent n wrm wter. After rinse the filter well, ry it throughly in she plce efore you reinstll it. Attch the ir clening fi lter n the fi lter holer to ech ir fi lter. Attch the ir filter with ligning oth sie of the filter with the front pnel, n push in the fi lter fully. Note: Mke sure tht clws re fi rmly snppe to the guie holes on the pnel. 7 Close the intke grille fi rmly. (Refer to step in Clening the intke grille.) Press plces on the intke grille to close it completely. En-

Relese ltches of the fi lter holer, n turn over the holer in irection of rrow. Remove the soile ir clening fi lter c. Note: Air clening fi lter is ttche on ech ir fi lter. Following types of ir clening filters re use in this prouct. When you replce them, purchse eicte ir clening fi lters for this prouct. Polyphenol ctechin ir clening filter: UTR-FA ( sheet) With using sttic electricity, purifi es the ir y removing fi ne prticles or ust such s tcco smoke or plnt pollen. Contine ctechin, tht is consiere highly effective ginst vrious cteri, suppresses the growth of cteri sore to the fi lter. This fi lter is isposle. Do not wsh or reuse it. Once you open the pckge, use it s soon s possile. The clening effect is reuce if the fi lter is left the pckge opene. Replce the fi lter once every months uner norml use. With setting the fn spee high, the ir clening effect increses. Negtive ir ions eoorizing filter: UTR-FA- c Attch new or mintine ir clening fi lter to the fi lter holer. New ir clening fi lter cn e ttche to either of the right holer or the left holer. Ltch corners of the fi lter holer e to the ir fi lter fi rmly. (Light lue, sheet) Contine super micro-cermic prticles prouce negtive ir ions, tht is consiere to hve eoorizing effect, sor n reuce room smell. To mintin the eoorizing effect, clen the fi lter once every months s follows:. Remove the ororizing filter.. Flush the fi lter with high-pressure hot wter until the surfce of the filter is covere with wter.. Wsh the fi lter gently with iluent nuetrl etergent. Do not wsh it y wringing or ruing to prevent reucing the eoorizing effect y mge.. Rinse the fi lter well with wter fl ow.. Dry the fi lter throughly in she plce.. Reinstll the eoorizing fi lter to the inoor unit. Replce the fi lter once every yers uner norml use. e e After extene non-use of the unit If you hve shut own the inoor unit for month or more, perform the FAN opertion for hlf y to ry the internl prts throughly efore you perform norml opertion. Reinstll the ir fi lter. (Refer to step in Clening the ir fi lter.) Close the intke grille fi rmly. (Refer to step in Clening the intke grille.) Aitionl inspection After long perio of use, ccumulte ust insie the inoor unit my reuce the prouct performnce even if you hve mintine the unit with instructe ily cre or clening proceures written in this mnul.
