THIS UNIT REQUIRES A QUALIFIED INSTALLER. DO NOT ATT TO REPAIR THE UNIT BY YOURSELF. THIS UNIT HAS NO COMPTS WHICH YOU CAN REPAIR. OPING OR REMOVING THE COVER WILL EXPOSE YOU TO DANGEROUS VOLTAGES. TURNING OFF THE POWER SUPPLY WILL NOT PREVT POTTIAL ELECTRIC SHOCK. WARNING INSTALLATI WARNINGS Be sure to sk deler or store specilized in electric work to instll the ir conditioner. If the ir conditioner is improperly instlled by yourself, it cn cuse some problems such s wter leks, electric shock, fire, nd so on. Be sure to lwys ground the ir conditioner. Do not connect the ground wire to gs pipes, wter pipes, lightning rods or ground wires of telephones. If the ir conditioner is improperly grounded, it cn cuse n electric shock. CAUTI TO DISCNECT THE APPLIANCE FROM THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY This pplince must be connected to the min power supply by circuit breker or switch with contct seprtion of t lest 3 mm. The instlltion fuse (25A D type ) must be used for the power supply line of this ir conditioner. OPERATI WARNINGS Avoid cooling the room too strongly or exposing the humn body to cool wind for long time becuse it cn be detrimentl to your helth. Never insert fingers or sticks into the ir outlet nd ir inlet to void getting injured nd dmging the mchine becuse there re fns running t high speed inside both the ir inlet nd ir outlet. When you notice something unusul with the ir conditioner (such s burning smell or wek cooling power), immeditely turn off the min switch nd the circuit breker from the min power supply to stop the ir conditioner, nd contct the deler. If the ir conditioner is continuously operted when something is wrong, it cn cuse mchine filure, electric shock, fire, nd so on. Do not spill wter or other liquid on the indoor unit. If the unit is wet, it cn cuse n electric shock. MOVEMT AND REPAIR WARNINGS Do not ttempt to move or repir the unit by yourself. Since there is high voltge inside the unit, you cn get n electric shock when removing the cover nd min unit. Alwys sk the deler to move the ir conditioner for re-instlling it in nother plce. If it is improperly instlled, it cn cuse electric shock or fire. Whenever the ir conditioner needs repirs, request repirs from the deler. Be sure to connect the ir conditioner to dedicted power supply hving the rted voltge. Otherwise, the unit cn brek down or cuse fire. Do not instll the unit in plce where inflmmble gs cn lek. A fire cn result if inflmmble gs ccumultes round the unit. The indoor unit shll be instlled so tht the top of the indoor unit is t lest 2 m in height. Also, void putting nything on the top of the indoor unit. OPERATI CAUTIS Crefully red this mnul before strting the ir conditioner. The mnul includes lot of importnt informtion for dily opertion. Do not use this ir conditioner for other purposes such s preserving food, precision instruments, rt objects, breeding nimls, or growing potted plnts. Do not instll this ir conditioner in specil-purpose room such s ship or ny kind of vehicle. Doing so could hrm mchine performnce. Avoid exposing potted plnts nd nimls to wind from the ir conditioner becuse it hrms their helth nd growth. When the ir conditioner is operted together with combustion device in the sme plce, py creful ttention to ventiltion nd let fresh ir into the room. Poor ventiltion cn cuse n oxygen shortge. When the ir conditioner is used in closed room, py creful ttention to the ventiltion of the room. Poor ventiltion cn cuse n oxygen shortge. Do not touch the opertion buttons with wet hnds. Doing so could cuse n electric shock. Do not plce ny combustion device in plce where it is directly exposed to wind from the ir conditioner. Doing so could cuse incomplete combustion. When the ir conditioner will not be used for n extended period of time, turn off the min switch or the circuit breker for dded sfety. Disconnecting from the power supply protects the unit from lightning nd power surges. Do not put continer with wter such s vse on the unit becuse wter cn enter into the unit nd cuse n electric shock due to deteriortion in the electric insultion. Check the concrete blocks underneth the outdoor unit occsionlly. If the bse is left dmged or deteriorted, the unit cn topple over nd could possibly cuse n injury. Do not wsh the unit with wter. This could cuse n electric shock. Do not use lcohol, benzene, thinner, glss clener, polishing powder or other solvent for clening the unit becuse they cn deteriorte nd dmge the ir conditioner. Before clening the unit, be sure to turn off the min switch or circuit breker to prevent injuries from the electric fn running inside. For detils of the clening method, refer to USUAL MAINTANCE nd SPECIAL MAINTANCE on pges 18 to 22. Do not put nything on or step on the indoor unit nd outdoor unit. If you do so, it cn topple over nd cuse n injury. To llow the ir conditioner to operte t mximum performnce, operte within the operting temperture rnge specified in the instructions. Filure to do so cn cuse mlfunction, brek down, or wter to lek from the unit. 2

Press the button gin to stop opertion. (A receiving beep is herd.) If no receiving sound is herd from the indoor unit, press the button twice. c Mode select button () Press this button to select mode. Ech time you press the button, the modes cycle in order from A: Auto chngeover control, : Cool, : Dry, : Het nd bck to A. (A receiving beep is herd.) d Temperture button ( ).. The temperture setting is incresed to 30 C.... The temperture setting is reduced to 17 C. (A receiving beep is herd.) e Fn speed button (FAN) Press this button to select the fn speed. When you select, the fn speed is utomticlly djusted ccording to the room temperture. You cn lso mnully select the desired fn speed from five vilble settings. (LOW, LOW+, MED, MED+, HIGH ) (A receiving beep is herd.) f Auto louver button (SWING) Press this button to swing the louver. (A receiving beep is herd.) Press the button gin to stop the louver from swinging. (A receiving beep is herd.) ( see pge 14.) g Set louver button (FIX) Press this button to djust the ir flow direction. PRE button Press this button to operte the ir conditioner ccording to the settings stored using the MEMO button. ( see pge 13.) Air purifying button () Press this button to strt the electricl ir purifying opertion. Press the button gin to stop opertion. Sleep timer button (SLEEP) Press this button to strt the sleep timer (OFF timer) opertion. You cn select the OFF timer time from mong four settings (1, 3, 5 or 9 hours). i j k l m To move up the time, press of the button. To move down the time, press of the button. High power button (Hi POWER) Press this button to strt high power opertion. ( see pge 16.) Memory button (MEMO) Press this button to redy for storing the settings. 7 NAMES AND FUNCTIS OF INDICATORS REMOTE CTROL Disply All indictors, except for the clock time indictor, re displyed by pressing the button. Trnsmission mrk This trnsmission mrk ( ) indictes when the remote control trnsmits signls to the indoor unit. b Mode indictor Indictes the current opertion mode. c dbhj (: Automtic control, A: Auto chngeover control, : Cool, : Dry, :Het) c Temperture indictor Indictes the temperture setting (17 C to 30 C). d Air purifying indictor Shows tht the electricl ir purifying opertion is in progress. e FAN speed indictor Indictes the selected fn speed. or one of five fn speed levels (LOW, LOW+, MED, MED+, HIGH ) cn be shown. Indictes when the operting mode is either or : Dry. i g e f g TIMER nd clock time indictor The time setting for timer opertion or the clock time is indicted. The current time is lwys indicted except during TIMER opertion. Hi POWER indictor Indictes when Hi POWER opertion strts. Press the Hi POWER button to strt nd press it gin to stop opertion. h (MEMORY) indictor Flshes for 3 seconds when the MEMO button is pressed during opertion. The mrk is shown when holding down the button for more thn 3 seconds while the mrk is flshing. Press nother button to turn off the mrk. i ECO indictor Indictes when the ECO is ctivted. Press the ECO button to strt nd press it gin to stop opertion. j A. B chnge indictor remote control Press the point nd FIX button t the sme time to chnge the remote control setting from A to B. (Priority is given to the A setting.) The E-Prts of the indoor unit re lso chnged to the B setting. PREPARATI AND BEFORE USE f In the illustrtion, ll indictors re shown for purposes of explntion. During opertion, only the relevnt indictors re shown on the remote control. GLISH Loding the remote control btteries Remove the cover, nd insert the btteries. b Press the RE button. The clock indictor flshes. Adjust the clock. Rettch the cover. Btteries To replce the btteries, use two new btteries (AAA type). The btteries will lst bout one yer under norml usge. Replce the btteries if there is no receiving beep from the indoor unit or when the ir conditioner cnnot be operted using the remote control. To void mlfunctions due to bttery lekge, remove the btteries when not using the remote control for more thn one month. Slide off the cover while pressing the sides. 8 Setting the clock Before you strt operting the ir conditioner, set the clock of the remote control using the procedures given in this section. The clock pnel on the remote control will indicte the time regrdless of whether the ir conditioner is in use or not. Initil setting When btteries re inserted in the remote control, the clock pnel displys AM 0:00 nd flshes. button PRE Press the button to set the current time. Ech press of the button chnges the time in one minute increments. Holding down the button chnges the time in ten minute increments. b button Press the button. The current time is displyed nd the clock strts. b OFF FILTER RE Adjusting the clock button Press the button. The indictor flshes. b button Press the button to set the current time. Ech press of the button chnges the time in one minute increments. Holding down the button chnges the time in ten minute increments. c button Press the button. The current time is displyed nd the clock strts. OFF FILTER RE Push b PRE OFF FILTER RE c Prepring the filters Open the ir inlet grille, nd remove the ir filters. b Attch the supplied Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter. 9 USING THE REMOTE CTROL CAUTI The ir conditioner will not operte if curtins, doors or other objects block the signls from the remote control to the indoor unit. Be creful tht liquids do not spill onto the remote control. Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or het. If the infrred signl receiver on the indoor unit is exposed to direct sunlight, the ir conditioner my not function properly. Use curtins to prevent sunlight from reching the receiver. Signls my not be properly received, if the room using the ir conditioner hs fluorescent lighting with electronic strters. If you re plnning on using fluorescent lmps, consult with your locl deler. If other electricl pplinces re ctivted by the remote control, move these pplinces or consult with your locl deler. Loction of the remote control Keep the remote control where its signls cn rech the receiver of the indoor unit ( distnce of up to 7 m is llowed). When you select timer opertion, the remote control utomticlly trnsmits signl to the indoor unit t the specified time. If you keep the remote control in loction where proper signl trnsmission is blocked, time lg of up to 15 minutes my occur. Remote control holder Instlling the remote control holder Before you ctully instll the remote control holder on wll or pillr, check whether the remote control signls cn be received by the indoor unit. Mounting nd removing the remote control To mount the remote control, hold it prllel to the remote control holder nd push it in fully. 10 MATIC OPERATI When you set the ir conditioner to mode, it utomticlly selects cooling, heting, or fn only opertion depending on the room temperture. ( see pge 16.) The fn speed nd louver re lso utomticlly controlled. Strt button Press this button to strt the ir conditioner. b button () Press button. The OPERATI indictor (green or ornge) on the disply pnel of the indoor unit lights. The operting mode is selected ccording to the room temperture nd opertion strts fter pproximtely 3 minutes. If the mode is uncomfortble, you cn select the desired conditions mnully. The temperture, fn speed nd louver position cn be chnged, nd is lso chnged from to A when the fn speed or louver position is chnged. The fn speed indictor is lso shown. Stop button Press this button gin to stop the ir conditioner. b PRE OFF FILTER RE MATIC OPERATI ( CHANGEOVER) When you set the ir conditioner to A mode or switch over from opertion becuse of chnge in settings, the ir conditioner utomticlly selects cooling, heting, or fn only opertion depending on the room temperture. ( see pge 16.) Strt button Press this button to strt the ir conditioner. b Mode select button () Select A. c Temperture button ( ) Set the desired temperture. 12 AIR PURIFYING OPERATI During ir conditioner opertion button Pressing this button strts Plsm Air Purifying () opertion. The PLASMA indictor (blue) on the disply pnel of the indoor unit turns on. Plsm pure filter nd ir ionizer re ctivted. To stop only opertion button Pressing this button stops opertion. The PLASMA indictor (blue) on the disply pnel of the indoor unit turns off. Plsm pure filter nd ir ionizer re dectivted. To stop ir conditioner opertion t the sme time button Pressing this button stops ir conditioner opertion nd opertion. The OPERATI indictor (green or ornge) nd PLASMA indictor (blue) on the disply pnel of the indoor unit turn off. During the ir purifying opertion, smll mount of ozone is produced, nd you might notice the smell. When the ir flow is utomtic, it chnges between LOW nd MED+. LOW opertion is performed when the indoor ir becomes clen. During opertion, the position of the verticl ir flow louvers my chnge if the room temperture is low. Opening the front pnel during opertion sometimes turns on the FILTER indictor (ornge). In this cse, stop opertion (stop the ir conditioner if it is lso operting), nd then close the front pnel. The FILTER indictor (ornge) turns on fter opertion is performed for bout 1000 hours. When the indictor turns on, clen the dust collecting unit. ( see pge 21.) Therefter, the ir conditioner will strt operting under the sme conditions s if you pressed the or OFF button of the remote control. You cnnot set the timer when the clock disply is flshing. Adjust the verticl ir flow using the remote control. Adjust the horizontl ir flow mnully. Adjusting the verticl ir flow The ir conditioner utomticlly djusts the verticl ir flow direction ccording to the operting conditions when or A mode is selected. To set selected ir flow direction Use this function when the ir conditioner is operting. FIX button Hold down or briefly press the FIX button on the remote control to move the louver in the desired direction. Chnge the verticl ir flow louver direction within the rnge indicted. In subsequent opertions, the verticl ir flow is utomticlly set to the direction tht you set the louver using the FIX button. PRE To utomticlly swing the ir flow direction Perform this function when the ir conditioner is operting. SWING button Press the SWING button on the remote control. To stop the function, press the SWING button. To chnge the swing direction, press the FIX button. OFF FILTER RE CAUTI The FIX nd SWING buttons will be disbled when the ir conditioner is not operting (including when TIMER is set). Do not operte the ir conditioner for n extended period of time with the ir flow direction set downwrd during the cooling or dry opertion. Otherwise, condenstion my occur on the surfce of the verticl ir flow louver nd cuse wter dripping. Do not move the verticl ir flow louver mnully. Alwys use the FIX button. If you move the louver mnully, it my mlfunction during opertion. If the louver mlfunctions, stop the ir conditioner once, nd restrt. When the ir conditioner is strted immeditely fter it ws stopped, the verticl ir flow louver might not move for bout 10 seconds. 17 RESTART OPERATI This ir conditioner is equipped with n utomtic restrting function which llows the ir conditioner to resume without the use of the remote control under the operting settings in the event of power shutdown. Opertion resumes without wrning three minutes fter power is restored. GLISH INFORMATI The RESTART OPERATI is not set to work t fctory shipment, nd so it is necessry to set it to this function if required. HOW TO RESTART To set the uto restrt function, proceed s follows: The power supply to the unit must be on. The function will not be set if the power is off. To enble the uto restrt function, hold down the RE button for 3 seconds. The ir conditioner receives the setting nd beeps 3 times. The system now restrts utomticlly. The uto restrt setting is ctivted. (1) When the ir conditioner is in stnd-by (not running). Hold down the RE button for more thn 3 seconds. The ir conditioner strts to operte. The green indictor turns on. After bout 3 seconds, the ir conditioner beeps 3 times. The indictor chnges from green to ornge. The ir conditioner is operting. If the ir conditioner is not required to run t this time, push the RE button gin or use the remote control to stop the ir conditioner. RE button (2) When the ir conditioner is operting. Hold down the RE button for more thn 3 seconds. The ir conditioner stops operting. The green indictor turns off. Three seconds fter pushing the button, the ir conditioner beeps 3 times. The ir conditioner stops. If you do not need the ir conditioner to stop t this time, use the remote control to restrt the ir conditioner. During the subsequent opertion, the ornge indictor is turned on. The uto restrt opertion will not ccept commnd if timer opertion with the remote control is ctivted. After restrting the ir conditioner by the RESTART OPERATI, the louver swing () opertion does not resume. HOW TO CANCEL RESTART To cncel the uto restrt opertion, proceed s follows: Repet the setting procedure. The ir conditioner receives the setting nd beeps three times. The ir conditioner now needs to be mnully restrted with the remote control fter the min supply is turned off. The uto restrt setting is cncelled. (1) When the ir conditioner is in stnd-by (not running). Hold down the RE button for more thn 3 seconds. The ir conditioner strts to operte. The ornge indictor will turn on. After bout 3 seconds, the ir conditioner beeps 3 times. The indictor chnges from ornge to green. The ir conditioner is operting. If the ir conditioner is not required to run t this time, push the RE button gin or use remote control to stop the ir conditioner. (2) When the ir conditioner is operting. Heting opertion The heting opertion is performed t 2 C higher thn the temperture setting. ECO opertion When you press the ECO button during cooling, heting or A opertion, the ir conditioner strts the following opertion. The fn speed is controlled utomticlly. Cooling opertion ( ) In the minimum opertion zone, where the ir conditioner is operted t minimum cpcity, overcooling is prevented by rising the temperture setting. The room temperture is thus regulted between the minimum opertion zone nd the temperture setting. Heting opertion ( ) In the minimum opertion zone, where the ir conditioner is operted t minimum cpcity, overheting is prevented by lowering the temperture setting. 20 USUAL MAINTANCE WARNING Before you clen the ir conditioner, be sure to turn off the circuit breker or min power switch. Clening of indoor unit nd remote control Wipe with dry cloth CAUTI Use dry cloth to wipe the indoor unit nd remote control. When the ir conditioner is extremely dirty, use cloth dipped in cold wter to wipe the indoor unit. Never use dmp cloth on the remote control. Do not use chemicl-bsed duster for wiping or leve such mterils on the unit for extended periods of time. Doing so could dmge or cuse the surfce of the unit to fde. Do not use benzine, thinner, polishing powder, or other solvents for clening. These cn cuse the plstic surfce to crck or deform. When not using the unit for t lest 1 month (1) Perform fn opertion for three to four hours to dry the inside of the unit. If high temperture setting is used with cooling opertion, fn opertion is performed. (2) Stop the ir conditioner nd turn off the circuit breker. (3) Clen the ir filters. (4) Remove the btteries from the remote control. Thinner Cooling with high temperture setting. Check before opertion CAUTI Check tht the ir filters re instlled. Turn off the ir conditioner using the remote control. 2. Open the ir inlet grille. 1 Open the ir inlet grille. Lift the ir inlet grille up to the horizontl position. 2 Grsp the left nd right hndles of the ir filter nd lift it up slightly, nd then pull it downwrd to tke it out from the filter holder. 3 Use vcuum clener to remove the dust from the filters or wsh them with wter. After wshing the ir filters, dry them in the shde. Filter holder 18

21 4 Insert the top section of the ir filter so tht its right nd left edges fit on the indoor unit nd it is firmly set. 5 Close the ir inlet grille. * If the FILTER indictor on the indoor unit is shown, press the FILTER button on the remote control or the RE button on the indoor unit to turn off the indictor. Clening the ir inlet grille Preprtion: 1. Turn off the ir conditioner using the remote control. 2. Open the ir inlet grille. 1 Remove the ir inlet grille. Hold the two sides of the ir inlet grille nd open upwrds. Move the center rm to the left nd remove the grille. 2 Wsh it with wter using soft sponge or towel. (Do not use metllic scrubbing brush or other hrd brushes.) Use of such hrd objects will cuse scrtches on the surfce of the grille nd the metl coting to peel off. If extremely dirty, clen the ir inlet grille with neutrl kitchen detergent nd rinse it off with wter. 3 Wipe off the wter from the ir inlet grille nd dry it. 4 Fit the left nd right rms of the ir inlet grille to the shfts on the two sides of the ir conditioner nd push them in completely, nd then push in the center rm. 5 Check tht the center rm hs been completely inserted nd close the ir inlet grille. Push the rrow loctions (four) t the bottom of the ir inlet grille to check tht the grille is completely closed. 22 SPECIAL MAINTANCE Attching the Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter After instlling the ir conditioner, ttch the supplied Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter. Preprtion: 1. Turn off the ir conditioner using the remote control. INFORMATI It is recommended tht you replce the filters once bout every six yers. Deodorizing performnce will drop when there re severe stins due to extended periods of usge such s due to tr ccumultion from cigrette smoke. 1 Open the ir inlet grille. Lift up the ir inlet grille until it clicks into plce. 2 Tke off the ir filter from the left side. Grsp the left nd right hndles of the ir filter nd lift up slightly nd then pull downwrd to remove the filter from the filter holder. 3 Attch the Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter to the front pnel. When ttching new filters, remove the Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter from the bg, nd then insert the filters with the Zeolite-plus filter on the top. 4 Attch the ir filter, nd then close the ir inlet grille. If the filters re dirty with dust nd dirt, use vcuum clener to remove the dirt before wshing with wter. Also, be sure to lwys use clen wter when wshing. If dirty wter is used, the debris in the wter cn dhere to the filters. Do not rub the filter surfce. In the finl of the wter wshing, be sure to lwys rinse the filter with clen wter. If the filter is prticulrly dirty, dd neutrl detergent t the stndrd concentrtion nd then rinse with clen wter until there re no more sop bubbles. Drin gently fter wshing with wter. 5 Allow the Zeolite-plus filter nd Zeolite-3G filter to dry in the sun. It tkes bout six hours for the filters to dry in direct sunlight. 6 Attch the ir filter, nd then close the ir inlet grille. 20

23 Clening the ir ionizer Clen the ir ionizer when you clen the dust collecting unit. (Clen pproximtely once every six months.) Preprtion: 1. Turn off the ir conditioner using the remote control. 2. Turn off the power supply. GLISH WARNING Touching the ends of the metl pins inside the ir ionizer (drk blue) cn result in n electricl shock. 1 Fully open the verticl ir flow louvers by hnd. 2 Remove the dust on the ir ionizer. Use toothbrush to rub the ends of the metl pins inside the ir ionizer (drk blue) three or four times. Do not use cotton swbs or other objects with fluff. 3 Close the verticl ir flow louvers. Clening the dust collecting unit Clen the dust collecting unit when the FILTER indictor (ornge) turns on. (This indictor turns on fter opertion of bout 1000 hours.) Pressing the RE buttons turns off the FILTER indictor. Perform clening bout once every six months. Even if the FILTER indictor does not turn on, clen the dust collecting unit whenever the unit mkes humming, clicking, or buzzing sound. If the indictor turns on during the night, the ir conditioner cn still be used until the morning without problem, but be sure to perform clening s soon s possible. Preprtion: 1. Turn off the ir conditioner using the remote control. 2. Turn off the power supply. 1 Open the ir inlet grille. Lift up the ir inlet grille until it clicks into plce. 2 Grsp the left nd right hndles of the ir filter nd lift up slightly nd then pull downwrd to remove the filter from the filter holder. 3 Tke out the dust collecting unit. 24 4 Wsh nd then dry. (1) Sok in hot wter t 40 to 50 C for bout 10 to 15 minutes. If the stining is prticulrly severe, use wshing detergent compound (wek bsic or neutrl) t 10 to 15 times the stndrd concentrtion. (2) Rub up nd down, nd rub left nd right. Also, rub the surfce gently with sponge. (3) Rinse with running wter. (4) Shke thoroughly, nd llow the unit to drin. (If oil or smoke strins re prticulrly hrd to remove, repet steps (1) to (4) two or three times.) (5) Allow to dry thoroughly in the shde. CAUTI Never use ny products mrked s blech. Do not ttempt to disssemble the unit. Do not rub with scrubbing brush or similr implement. Do not dry with hir dryer or other pplince tht uses hot ir. (The het cn cuse the unit to deform.) After clening, wit until the unit is completely dried before ttching. The FILTER indictor my turn on if the unit is used while wet. 5 Attch the dust collecting unit. Grsp the hndles, nd then insert s shown in nd b. Insert into the right nd left guide rils, nd then press in the direction of b fter it is ll the wy in. Press both ends of the dust collecting unit in the direction of c until the protrusions on both sides of the dust collecting unit re completely inserted into the holders. 6 Attch the ir filter, nd then close the ir inlet grille

25 AIR CDITIER OPERATI AND PERFORMANCE Three-minute protection feture A protection feture is provided tht prevents the ir conditioner from being ctivted for pproximtely 3 minutes when it is restrted immeditely fter opertion or when the power supply switch is set to on. This is used to protect the mchine. Heting chrcteristics Preheting opertion The ir conditioner does not deliver wrm ir immeditely fter it is strted. Wrm ir flows out fter pproximtely 5 minutes when the indoor het exchnger hs wrmed up. Wrm ir control When the room temperture reches the temperture setting, the fn indoor speed is utomticlly reduced. The outdoor unit is stopped t this time. Defrosting If frost hs formed on the outdoor unit during the heting opertion, defrosting is strted utomticlly (for pproximtely 5 to 10 minutes) to mintin the heting effect. The fns in both the indoor nd outdoor units stop during the defrost opertion. During the defrost opertion, defrosted wter is drined from the bottom plte of the outdoor unit. Heting cpcity In the heting opertion, het is bsorbed from outdoors nd relesed into the room. Tht is clled the het pump system. When the outdoor temperture is too low, usge of nother heting pprtus in combintion with the ir conditioner is recommended. Considertion for ccumulted snow Select the position for the outdoor unit where it will not be subjected to snow drifts, ccumultion of leves or other sesonl debris. It is importnt tht the ir flow of the outdoor unit is not blocked s this will result in reduced heting or cooling performnce. During the heting mode nd t sub-zero tempertures, the wter drined off the outdoor unit s result of the utomtic defrost my ccumulte nd freeze. It is importnt tht dequte dringe or sok-wy be provided. Power filure Power filure during opertion stops the unit completely. The OPERATI indictor (green) on the indoor unit strts flshing when power is restored. To restrt opertion, push the button on the remote control. Lightning or cr wireless telephone operting nerby my cuse the unit to mlfunction. Turn the power supply switch off nd then on gin. Push the button on the remote control to restrt. Air conditioner operting conditions For proper performnce, operte the ir conditioner under the following temperture conditions. Cooling opertion Outdoor temperture: 10 C to 43 C Room temperture: 21 C to 32 C CAUTI Room reltive humidity less thn 80%. If the ir conditioner opertes outside this rnge, the surfce of the ir conditioner my ttrct condenstion. Heting opertion Outdoor temperture: 15 C to 24 C Room temperture: Less thn 28 C Dry opertion Outdoor temperture: 10 C to 43 C Room temperture: 17 C to 32 C If the ir conditioner is used in conditions other thn bove, the sfety protection functions my be ctivted. 26 TROUBLESHOOTING CAUTI If ny of the following conditions occur, stop the ir conditioner immeditely, turn off the min power switch nd contct the deler. The indictors flsh t short intervls (5 Hz). Reset the circuit breker 2 to 3 minutes fter the power min switch is turned off. Despite the resetting opertion, the indictors still continue turning on nd off. Switch opertion is errtic. Before sking for servicing or repirs, check the following points. Inopertive The power min switch is turned off. The circuit breker is ctivted to cut off the power supply. The min power fuse hs blown. The electric current hs stopped. The btteries in the remote control used up. The timer is set. As protective mechnism for the ir conditioner, it does not operte for three minutes immeditely fter restrting opertion or turning on the min power. Poor cooling or heting performnce The ir inlet or outlet of the outdoor unit is blocked. Doors or windows re opened. The ir filter is clogged with dust. The louver is not t the correct position. The fn speed is set to low. The ir conditioner is set to the DRY or ECO mode. The temperture setting is too high (during cooling opertion). The temperture setting is too low (during heting opertion).
