7 Flame ioizatio detectors 10 MultiFID14 MultiFID14 NMHC The Multi-FID14 is a flame ioizatio detector which measures the total cotet of orgaic carbo i the sample gas. For this purpose orgaic substaces are ioized i a hydroge flame. The curret of these ios is proportioal to the orgaic carbo cotet. The aalyzer is heated up to 200 C ad ca be directly coected to a heated sample gas lie. Thus o cold spots occur at ay poit. The Multi-FID14 features self-moitorig, fault detectio, loggig ad messagig fuctios. A automatic reset is also possible after fault correctio. The Multi-FID14 NMHC is a flame ioizatio detector which measures the total cotets of orgaic carbo with ad without methae i the sample gas (NMHC = o-methae hydrocarbo). Via a iteral soleoid valve, the sample gas is coducted through a catalyst i which all hydrocarbos are combusted ito CO2 ad H2O without methae. Thus oly the methae cotet is measured. The the sample gas is supplied directly to the detector leavig out the catalyst. The methae-free hydrocarbo cocetratio derived from the differece ca be displayed.
