2 The goods and services shown on this price list are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangement you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Prior to drafting any contract for goods or services, the responsible party or the decedent s survivor who is handling the funeral arrangements is entitled to receive a copy of any preneed agreement in the possession of the funeral establishment that has been signed and paid for, in full or part, by or on the behalf of the decedent. 3 This is the basic charge to each family we serve. The charge is for our professional expertise and includes, but is not limited to, a proportionate share of the taxes, licenses, utilities, and business expenses necessary to serve the public community in a professional manner. Also included in this charge is the personnel available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to initial call; the consultation with the family, clerical and administrative services, coordination with clergy, cemetery, crematory, or common carrier; planning the funeral or memorial services. There will be an additional charge for the direction and supervision of each service requested or required. This fee for our basic professional service and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements that have been selected. This fee is already included in our charges for Direct Cremation, Immediate Burial, and Forwarding or Receiving Remains. Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. Refrigeration (per 48 hrs.) $ California Code 12332B states, If an unembalmed body is held longer than 24 hours, it must be refrigerated.
