The preliminary master plan drawings that were presented are attached (reduced size). The following notes include the comments and priorities suggested by those who stopped by. The full list of comments follows the summaries. Summary What s important? External Image: Renew the Mall Gateways and campus edges for curb appeal Transportation bikes, shuttle, pedestrians Bike routes marked Bike storage Pedestrian emphasis Safety reduce conflicts Improve crosswalks, especially at Maywood/Ellis and Ellis/Stadium Safer circulation in front of CSU all modes Residence Life Replace Carkoski Add residence hall capacity Connect the residence halls area with the rest of campus, e.g. via a link to library, and links of Julia Sears to other facilities Parking: Yes! Add parking capacity, at Gage site or at parking deck/ramp opposite CSU Buildings Remodel/Renew Armstrong Sports Bubble Improve learning spaces tables, not desks; standup tables, add collaborative/study Summary Other considerations Parking operations should look into specific short term needs, like parking for night classes at Wiecking or some overnight parking for students who don t want to vacate Shuttles: one needed after 10 pm classes end Aesthetics be sure new parking deck/ramp does not detract from first views of campus/csu Specific program concerns for Aviation, East Trafton, graduate student space. 3 Stadium Heights (off-campus dorm ) means need for better shuttle service Dislikes: Location west of Performing Arts ( V ) as an Academic building Make Wiecking go away (2) too far and is more like a business o If kept, at least have short-term parking nearby for students Wiecking needs night shuttle for 6 10 PM classes in the Auditorium Curb appeal (Like Ellis Gateway) o Flowers Painted bike lanes Improve learning space: more active areas; less seating; standing tables More bike storage on N/S axis More bike storage at Wiecking Exercise location Library Rec Center More residential Parking ramp Move Bubble to remote lots (2) Bubble better on Gage site.
