Based on a series of dwelings that interweave and interact with one another. The proposal consisted of a cafe, retail space and four units; two flats and two townhomes.

As one ascends, two courtyars come into view that allow light to filter down onto the lower floors.

Upon entering from the main street, the staircase invites the residence as it wraps around the structure. As one ascends, two courtyars come into view that allow light to filter down onto the lower floors. Bedrooms, bathrooms, patios and kitchens All play a role in extruding the the main structure. This allows for connectivity and interaction with ones neighbor if they please. 7 02 LITTLE HAVANA HIGHRISE Acting as a landmark of innovation to Little Havana, This complex will provide retail, residential, and green spaces. The green spaces will work as a threshold to the community of Little Havana and provide an open space for the residents of the area to gather and learn about sustainability in this climate aware age we are living in. the green houses provide the necessary supplies for the markets and retail spaces on the site and the surrounding area. The purpose of this site is to allow people to lead every aspect of their lives within the building; from living, to working, to shopping and even eating. where the residents can feel comfortable in the space they are living in, knowing that they are not harming the planet in a way that any other lifestyle would.

8 03 LONDON/BERLIN BRIDGE LONDON The bridge in London, The Purity Bridge, is used as an anchor connecting north and south sides of the river. The site around the bridge on the south side is the cities modern City hall. On the North side is Tower Hill, Londons oldest governing castle that is not used for governing anymore. Embracing the idea of water collection, the bridge is covered with a canopy system that collects and filters rainwater. Once the canopy reaches dry land, it becomes less static and begins to shift in different directions covering a larger area. The canopies can then spread around the city to create bus stops or concession stands all while still collecting water during a storm. The hopes of this project was to create awareness of a shortage of fresh water while seas continue to rise which, may one day change the landscape of London itself.

This bridge looks into combining four themes; running, walking, cycling and green space.

9 BERLIN In the central Europe lies the Social Regeneration bridge in Berlin, Germany. During our time there, we noticed the fast and slow paces of people on their different forms of transportations. This bridge looks into combining four themes; running, walking, cycling and green space. Designed to look heavy like much of ber,ins architecture, the bridge spans out to create large gathering spaces to collect on the bridge and around it s borders. An upper deck is used for fast paced citizens on bikes or running. This path leads them to fast moving areas on either side of the bridge. The lower deck serves the intent of the pedestrian, nice and slow. A sense of social regeneration was decided to merge and collect people in these spaces to communicate and relax.

Located right along the edge of the river, the Urban Pavilion creates a gathering space for an outdoor theater for plays and movies.

10 04 MIAMI RIVER URBAN PAVILION Along the Miami River, an urban planning project was taken hold by FIU students. The ideas of sea level rise, natural habitats, and education were implemented into the design of the masterplan. Located right along the edge of the river, the Urban Pavilion creates a gathering space for an outdoor theater for plays and movies. The design of the pavilion was taken from mapping the scars of the everglades, or airboat trails. This carving took a role in shaping the way people move through out the pavilion not just horizontally but vertically. transparency plays an important role in moving a person as well. The structure consists of using transparent and opaque canopies to form spaces. These canopies are supported by a tensile structure held by two large masses used as bathrooms and a concession stand. beyond the pavilion is an elevated walkway that leads people to an ecological park. The project implements the strategies of water collection and solar energy to power the pavilion and adjacent buildings.

05 DESIGN DISTRICT PUBLIC ARTS AND PERFORMANCE CENTER In the heart of the Design District of Miami, a public arts and performance center was proposed.

It is made up of galleries, a library, artists studios, a theater and a courtyard. The projects combinds large masses and a double skin facade to invite people to the center. Music is something meaningful that is seen a lot in Miami. When looking in to the basic for of a sheet of music and the notes or comman music in South Florida such as Salsa, one can connect the design of a sheet of music with architecture. Taking eight beats of music and attaching the to rhythym on a facade system was done to create shading to the structure and a way to advertise the events in the center. The eight panels were multiplied and then rotate to cover areas that need less light than others. Behind the mask the panels lies a giant floating mass that holds the audience in the theater.

14 06 GENOA FENCING CENTER The project consists of an exploration of pedestian circulation with in the Genovese urban fabric.
