When Jason and Karen were locating from Chiswick, to enjoy a more rural location and be close to family, they started their search on line. They found Oaklea and when they viewed the property, immediately realised that this charming house had something special to offer and was ideal for them. We have made quite a few changes and improvements but the position was just perfect, not only for convenience but for the fabulous views which change with the seasons This immaculate and particularly spacious home is surrounded by fields, creating a delightful rural atmosphere. They are conveniently close to Newbury which offers exceptional schools, comprehensive shopping and a choice of sporting and leisure activities. For Jason, who works in London, the railway station at Newbury with its fast service to Paddington, and the convenient access onto the M4 junction 13 at Chieveley, makes this location even more appealing. Originally a bungalow, Oaklea has been intelligently extended with some stunning design features. The attractive and inviting façade, and the large peaked, picture window to the front aspect have a definite wow factor. As you enter the house you sense its light, warm and welcoming ambience. Karen says it is difficult to choose one favourite room as they gain pleasure from each area in the house. The large, superbly equipped and streamlined kitchen is ideal for the keen cook, but is also a great social centre, where friends can gather at the breakfast bar for coffee and conversation. The windows frame pretty garden views, and the patio creates the perfect summer al fresco dining room. The large triangular window in the master bedroom is a remarkable piece of architecture and sets off the house beautifully explains Karen and it offers an amazing view across the landscape Karen has her studio in the attractive wooden building here, and she says that everyone who visits exclaims at the beauty of the situation. It is a most delightful place to have an office or studio. Both Jason and Karen are very sad to leave the house, but are relocating. They will miss the garden and the way the house nestles so gently into this landscape. It has given them much joy and they take away many very happy memories.*
