2 SIDE PANEL: AVIFORTROL SC; PAGE NO. 1 WARNINGS Handle with care. Poisonous when swallowed or inhaled. Toxic to fish, bees and wildlife. Store in a cool place away from food, feedstuffs and seed. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. In case of poisoning call a doctor and show him this label. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of a weed against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions, which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS Do not inhale spray mist. Wear protective clothing. Wash contaminated clothing daily. Wash with soap and water after use and accidental skin contact. Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or spraying unless having washed hands and face. Avoid drift or spray onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams or areas not under treatment. Clean applicator before using with other remedies and disposes of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers and dams. TRIPLE RINSE empty containers in the following manner: Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10 % of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner. Do not reuse the empty container for any other purpose but destroy it by perforation and flattening and dispose of it in a safe way. Prevent contamination of food, feeds, drinking water and eating utensils. FIRSTAID MEASURES If inhaled: Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention. On skin contact: Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. On contact with eyes: Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist. On ingestion: Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical assistance. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN Treat accordingly to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions) no known specific antidote. USE RESTRICTIONS Soils: When AVIFORTROL SC is applied to saturated soils there is a danger of reduced yield due to lowered physiological resistance of the crop. Cotton seed must be planted at least 12 mm deep to avoid possible injury from herbicide. When AVIFORTROL SC is applied post emergent to cotton, shields must be used to prevent contact of the foliage by spray mixture as this can result in crop damage. Rooibos tea: When rooibos tea is treated with AVIFORTROL SC the herbicide must be applied between rows, keeping foliar contact with the crop to an absolute minimum. Apply AVIFORTROL SC from the beginning of Ma to 15 th July when rooibos tea growth is least active and when the winter weeds are most actively growing. Do not apply AVIFORTROL SC to rooibos tea, which is less than nine months old. Do not use any adjuvant or surfactant when applying AVIFORTROL SC to rooibos tea. Do not apply AVIFORTROL SC to rooibos tea under

Do not use AVIFORTROL SC where the crop is growing under conditions of extreme cold, drought or nematode or insect attack. When AVIFORTROL SC is used in conjuction with any other agrochemical (see Compatibility below) full cognisance must be taken of all WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS, USE RESTRICTIONS and DIRECTIONS FOR USE mentioned on those labels. AVIFORTROL SC must not be used as an intank mixture with aniline herbicides. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED Compatibility: AVIFORTROL SC is compatible with Tropotox (reg. no.: L632), Ripcord EC (reg. no.: L4953), Fastac EC (reg. no.: L4991), Fastac SC (reg. no.: L4992) and a surfactant such as Tronic in tank mixtures (see Mixing Instructions below). The use of such a surfactant is essential in post emergent applications except when applied to rooibos tea and hops. With aniline herbicides, AVIFORTROL SC must be applied as a separate application and not as a tank mixture. Mixing instructions: Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Shake the AVIFORTROL SC container thoroughly immediately before use. Measure the required volume of AVIFORTROL SC and pre mix this with at least 10 l water. If any other product is to be mixed with AVIFORTROL SC pre mix the required volume of product in similar fashion. Agitate the water in the spray tank and add the pre mixed product(s) in the following sequence (as applicable): adjuvant / acidifier, suspension concentrate, wettable powder, emulsifiable concentrate. Fill the spray tank with water to the required level while maintaining agitation to ensure thorough mixing of the spray mixture before spraying commences. Maintain agitation while spraying. Prepared spray mixture must not be left in the spray tank for any length of time, e.g. overnight. General Directions: AVIFORTROL SC can be used as a pre or early postemergent application. The applicable recommended rate of AVIFORTROL SC must be applied to a wellprepared seedbed free of clods. In the event of a post emergent application grass weeds must not be developed beyond the two to three leaf stages or before broadleaf weeds are 40 mm high. See under HOPS for correct weed stage in that crop. Use sufficient water to ensure thorough distribution of the spray mixture over the area to be treated. Apply AVI FORTROL SC onto moist soil and preferably when rain is expected. If rain does not fall within seven days after application a light mechanical incorporation into the top 20 to 40 mm of soil is essential to preserve the activity of AVIFORTROL SC. All spray application must be made with suitable equipment that is in good working order and correctly calibrated to give the desired coverage for that particular method of application.

4 SIDE PANEL: AVIFORTROL SC; PAGE NO. 3 CROP COTTON DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION Ground application: With boom and hydraulic nozzles: Apply the prescribed dosage rate of AVI FORTROL SC by means of a suitable ground applicator in at least 200 l water / ha as an overall application. If band treatment is practised, proportionately less spray mixture will be used per hectare. Applications can be made either pre or early post emergent of weeds and crop, provided shields are used when applying post emergent of the crop to keep the chemical spray off the cotton plants. A late emergent application can also be made before the crop canopies provided weeds have not developed too far (see General Directions and USE RESTRICTIONS above). In this case the use of shields is also necessary. TABLE 1. Ground application: With boom and hydraulic nozzles: Apply the prescribed dosage rate of AVI FORTROL SC by means of a suitable ground applicator in at least 200 to 500 l /ha as an overall application. Applications can be made either pre emergent or not later than three days after germination of seeds. If weeds have emerged AVIFORTROL SC may be applied in combination with an appropriate registered post emergent herbicide as a directed spray. Take care that this mixture does not damage the hops growth tip when applying at the beginning of the growing season. The product should preferably be washed into the soil with overhead irrigation within 7 days after application. (See General Directions above). Slight yellowing of younger leaves may occur after application but the plants will outgrow these symptoms, as they grow older. HOPS (continued) TABLE 3. PEAS AVIFORTROL SC can be applied post emergent to peas in a tank mixture with Tropotox. Only for use in the Eastern Cape and only on the cultivar Cape Freezer. Applications must be made when peas have five to seven unfolded leaves. The soil must be moist at the time of application and weeds must grow actively. Ground application: Apply the relevant dosage rate in not less than 350 l water / ha for full cover treatment. TABLE 4. Tropotox and AVIFORTROL SC dosage rates on peas. Apply as an early post emergent spray in at least 200 l water / ha to actively growing young weeds. If band treatment is practiced, proportionately less spray mixture will be used per hectare. In cases of very heavy weed pressure, a second application at the same dosage rate may be applied three to four weeks after the first application. This should only be applied where sufficient rain has fallen to incorporate the first application (see ROOIBOS TEA entries under USE RESTRICTIONS above). TABLE 6. Suppression of the perennial grass Ehrharta calycina (rooisaadgras) may occur under favourable conditions. WAARSKUWINGS: Hanteer versigtig. Giftig indien ingesluk. Giftig vir vis, bye en wild. Bêre in koel plek weg van voedsel, voer en saad. Hou buite bereik van kinders, oningeligte persone en diere. In die geval van vergiftiging, ontbied n dokter en toon aan hom hierdie etiket. Alhoewel hierdie middel omvattend en onder n groot verskeidenheid toestande getoets is, waarborg die registrasiehouer nie dat dit onder alle toestande doeltreffend sal wees nie aangesien die werking en effek daarvan beïnvloed kan word deur faktore soos abnormale grond, klimaats en bergingstoestande, kwaliteit van verdunningswater, saambruikbaarheid met ander stowwe wat nie op die etiket aangedui is nie, en die voorkoms van weerstand van n onkruid teen die betrokke middel sowel as die metode, tyd en akkuraatheid van toediening. Verder aanvaar die registrasiehouer nie verantwoordelikheid vir skade aan gewasse, plantegroei, en die omgewing of vir nadelige effek op mens of dier of vir n gebrek aan prestasie as gevolg

6 SIDE PANEL: AVIFORTROL SC; PAGE NO. 5 van die versuim van die gebruiker om etiketaanwysings na te kom of as gevolg van die ontstaan van toestande wat nie kragtens die registrasie voorsien kon word nie. Raadpleeg die verskaffer in die geval van enige onsekerheid. VOORSORGMAATREËLS Voorkom inaseming van die spuitnewel. Dra beskermende klere. Was besmette klere daagliks. Was met water en seep ná gebruik en toevallige velkontak. Moenie eet, drink of rook terwyl gemeng of gespuit word nie alvorens die hande en gesig nie eers gewas is nie. Voorkom die oorwaai van spuitnewel na ander gewasse, weiding, riviere, damme of ander gebiede wat nie behandel moet word nie. Maak die toediener skoon voordat dit vir die toediening van ander produkte gebruik word en doen weg met die waswater op so n manier dat dit nie ander gewasse, weiding, riviere of damme sal besoedel nie. Leë houers moet DRIEKEER UITGESPOEL word soos volg: Keer die leë houer om oor die spuittenk of mengbak en dreineer vir minstens 30 sekondes nadat die vloei tot n gedrup verminder het. Spoel die houer daarna driekeer uit met n volume water gelykstaande aan n minimum van 10% van die houer. Gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat die houer op die voorgeskrewe wyse vernietig word. Moenie die leë houer vir enige ander doel hergebruik nie maar vernietig dit deur gate in te kap en plat te slaan en doen weg daarmee op n veilige manier. Voorkom besoedeling van voedsel, voer, drinkwater en eetgerei. NOODHULP Indien ingeasem: Hou die pasiënt kalm en verwyder na vars lug. Ontbied mediese hulp. Velkontak: Was onmiddellik met baie water en seep. Kontak met oë: Was die oë onmiddellik met lopende water vir ten minste 15 minute met die ooglede oop. Kontak n oogspesialis. Inname: Spoel die mond onmiddellik en drink baie water. Vra mediese hulp. NOTA AAN GENEESHEER Behandel simptomaties (dekontaminasie, vitale funksies) geen spesifieke teenmiddel bekend nie. GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGS Gronde: Indien AVIFORTROL SC toegedien word op waterversadigde grond onstaan die gevaar van verlaagde oesopbrengs vanweë verminderde fisiologiese weerstand van die gewas. Katoensaad moet minstens 12 mm diep geplant word om moontlike skade deur die onkruiddoder te voorkom. Indien AVIFORTROL SC naopkoms op katoen toegedien word, moet skerms gebruik word om te voorkom dat die spuitmiddel op die blare beland aangesien dit skade aan die gewas kan veroorsaak. Rooibostee: AVIFORTROL SC moet tussen rooibosteerye toegedien word en kontak met die blare moet tot n minimum beperk word. AVIFORTROL SC moet slegs toegedien word vanaf begin Mei tot 15 Julie wanneer die groeitempo van onkruide hoog is en dié van rooibostee laag is. Moenie AVIFORTROL SC spuit op lande waar die tee nie minstens nege maande oud is nie. Geen streelmiddels of kleefmoddels moet saam met AVIFORTROL SC op rooibosteelande gespuit word nie. AVIFORTROL SC moet nie onder winderige en veral waaisand toestande toegedien word nie. AVIFORTROL SC moet nie gebruik word waar die gewas stremming ondervind as gevolg van koue, droogte, aalwurmskade of insekskade nie. Indien AVIFORTROL SC in kombinasie met enige ander landbouchemiese middel gebruik word (sien Saambruikbaarheid hieronder) moet uitvoering gegee word aan alle WAARSKUWINGS, VOORSORGMAATREËLS, GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGS en GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS soos aangedui op daardie etikette. AVIFORTROL SC moet nie as n tenkmengsel gebruik word saam met aniline plantdoders nie. GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS VOORGESKRYF Saambruikbaarheid: AVIFORTROL SC is saambruikbaar met Tropotox (reg. nr. L632), Ripcord EC (reg. nr. L4953), Fastac EC (reg. nr. L4991), Fastac SC (reg. nr. L4992) en met n bevorderingsmiddel soortgelyk aan Tronic in tenkmengsels (sien Mengvoorskrifte hieronder). Die gebruik van n bevorderingsmiddel is noodsaaklik met alle naopkomsbespuitings behalwe wanneer op rooibostee en hops toegedien word. In gevalle waar AVI FORTROL SC in kombinasie met aniline plantdoders gebruik word, moet dit as n aparte toediening geskied.

7 SIDE PANEL: AVIFORTROL SC; PAGE NO. 6 Mengvoorskrifte: Maak die spuittenk halfvol met skoon water. Skud die AVIFORTROL SC houer deeglik net voor gebruik. Meet die benodigde volume AVIFORTROL SC af en meng dit vooraf met minstens 10 l water. Indien enige ander produk met AVIFORTROL SC gemeng word, moet die benodigde volume van hierdie produk op soortgelyke wyse eers vooraf gemeng word. Roer die water in die spuittenk en voeg dan die produk(te) by die tenk in die volgende volgorde (soos van toepassing): bevorderingsmiddel / versuringsmiddel, suspensiekonsentraat, benatbare poeier, emulgeerbare konsentraat. Vul die spuittenk met water tot by die verlangde vlak terwyl daar voortdurend geroer word om deeglike vermenging te verseker alvorens daar met toediening begin word. Handhaaf roering gedurende toediening. Aangemaakte spuitmengsel moenie in die spuittenk gelaat word vir n onbepaalde tyd, bv. Oornag, nie. Algemene aanwysings: AVIFORTROL SC kan gebruik word as n voor of vroeë na opkomsbespuiting. In beide gevalle moet die toepaslike aanbevolle dosis AVIFORTROL SC toegedien word op n goedvoorbereide saadbed sonder kluite. Wanneer na opkoms gespuit word, moet grasse nie verder as die vierblaarstadium ontwikkel het nie (voor die stoelstadium) en voordat breëblaaronkruide 40 mm hoog is. Sien onder HOPS vir regte groeistadium van onkruide in daardie gewas. Gebruik voldoende water om goeie verspreiding van die spuitmengsel te verseker op die gebied wat behandel moet word. AVIFORTROL SC moet op klam grond toegedien word en verkieslik wanneer reën verwag word. Indien reën nie binne sewe dae vanaf toediening val nie, moet die produk liggies in die boonste 20 tot 40 mm grond ingewerk word met n geskikte implement om sodoende die werking van AVIFORTROL SC te behou. Alle toedienings moet gemaak word met geskikte toerusting wat in goeie werkende toestand en korrek gekalibreer is, ten einde die verlangde bedekking te gee vir die betrokke toedieningsmetode.

Gebruik alleenlik in die Oos Kaap en net op die kultivar Cape Freezer. Toediening moet gemaak word wanneer die erte vyf tot sewe oopgevoude blare het. Die grond moet klam wees ten tye van die toediening en die onkruide moet aktief groei. Grondtoediening: Dien die voorgeskrewe dosis AVIFORTROL SC toe in minstens 350 l water / ha as n breedwerpige toediening. TABEL 1. Grondtoediening: Met spuitbak en hidroliese spuitneuse: Dien die voorgeskrewe dosis AVI FORTROL SC toe met geskikte grondtoerusting in ten minste 200 tot 500 l water / ha as n breedwerpige toediening. Toedienings kan gemaak word óf vooropkoms óf binne drie dae na onkruide ontkiem het. Indien onkruide alreeds ontkiem het, mag AVIFORTROL SC in kombinasie met n geskikte geregistreerde na opkomsonkruiddoder as n gerigte bespuiting toegedien word. Sorg moet egter gedra word dat hierdie kombinasie nie hopsgroeipunte beskadig wanneer aan die begin van die groeiseisoen toegedien word nie. Die produk moet verkieslik in die grond ingewas word met oorhoofse besproeiing binne 7 dae ná toediening. (Sien Algemene aanwysings hierbo). n Mate van vergeling mag op die jonger blare waargeneem word na toediening, maar die plante sal hierdie simptome ontgroei. TABEL 4. 9 SIDE PANEL: AVIFORTROL SC; PAGE NO. 8 KATOEN Grondtoediening: Met spuitbalk en spuitneuse: Dien die voorgeskrewe dosis AVIFORTROL SC toe met geskikte grondtoerusting in minstens 200 l water / ha as n breedwerpige toediening. Met strooktoediening word die spuitmengsel / ha na verhouding verminder. Toedienings kan gemaak word voor of vroeg naopkoms van onkruide en gewas. Gebruik skerms indien naopkoms van die gewas toegedien, om te voorkom dat die katoen raakgespuit word. Laat naopkomsbespuiting kan ook toegedien word voor die gewas toemaak, mits die onkruide nie te ver ontwikkel het nie (sien Algemene aanwysings en GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGS hierbo). In hierdie geval moet skerms ook gebruik word. TABEL 5. ROOIBOSTEE Grondtoediening: AVIFORTROL SC moet tussen die rye toegedien word vanaf begin Mei tot 15 Julie, maar slegs nadat goeie reën geval het. AVIFORTROL SC moet vroeg naopkoms op aktiefgroeiende onkruide toegdien word in minstens 200 l water / ha. Waar rybehandeling toegepas word, moet ooreenkomstig minder spuitmengsel per hektaar toegedien word. Waar baie swaar onkruiddruk voorkom kan n tweede opvolgtoediening teen dieselfde dosis drie tot vier weke na die eerste toediening gebruik word.
