Moet nie behandelde mielie- of sorghumlande bewei nie. Hanteer uiters versigtig. Giftig wanneer ingeasem, mondelings ingeneem of deur vel geabsorbeer. Veroorsaak matige oogirritasie. Giftig vir vis, wild en bye. Vlambaar - stoor weg van oop vlamme. Bewaar agter slot en grendel weg van voedsel en voer en buite bereik van kinders, oningeligte persone en diere. In die geval van vergiftiging ontbied 'n geneesheer onmiddellik en stel die etiket aan hom beskikbaar. HERBETREDING: Moet nie behandelde gebied betree vir 2 dae na bespuiting nie, tensy beskermende oorklere gedra word. LUGTOEDIENING: Stel alle inwoners in die nabye omgewing van die lugbespuitingsarea in kennis en reik die nodige waarskuwings uit. Voorkom besoedeling en wegdrywe van spuitnewel na water of aangrensende gewasse en gebiede. Alhoewel hierdie middel omvattend onder n groot verskeidenheid toestande getoets is, waarborg die registrasiehouer nie dat dit onder alle toestande doeltreffend sal wees nie, aangesien die werking en effek daarvan beïnvloed kan word deur faktore soos abnormale grond-, klimaats- en bergingstoestande; verenigbaarheid met ander stowwe wat nie op die etiket aangedui is nie en die voorkoms van weerstand van die plaag teen die betrokke middel sowel as die metode, tyd en akkuraatheid van toediening. Verder aanvaar die registrasiehouer nie verantwoordelikheid vir skade aan gewasse, plantegroei, die omgewing of vir nadelige effek op mens of dier of vir n gebrek aan prestasie van die betrokke middel as gevolg van die versuim van die gebruiker om etiketaanwysings na te kom of as gevolg van die ontstaan van toestande wat nie kragtens die registrasie voorsien kon word nie. 3 VOORSORGMAATREËLS Vermy enige kontak met spuitstof en inaseming van spuitnewel. Dra beskermende klere (oorpak, rubber handskoene, gesigskerm, gesigmasker en stewels). Was met water en seep na gebruik. Moenie eet, drink of rook gedurende hantering, toediening en voordat hande en gesig gewas is nie. Voorkom die wegdryf van spuitnewel na ander gewasse, beweiding, riviere, damme en areas nie onder behandeling nie. Maak spuitapparaat skoon na gebruik. Raak ontslae van uitspoelwater waar dit nie damme, riviere of gewasse sal besoedel nie. Keer die leë houer om oor die spuittenk of mengbak en dreineer vir minstens 30 sekondes nadat die vloei tot n gedrup verminder het. Spoel die houer daarna drie keer uit met n volume water gelykstaande aan n minimum van 10% van die houer. Gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk voordat die houer op die voorgeskrewe wyse vernietig word. Moenie die leë houer vir enige ander doel hergebruik nie, maar vernietig dit deur gate in te kap en plat te slaan en doen weg daarmee op n veilige manier. Voorkom besoedeling van voedsel, voer, eetgerei en drinkwater. SIMPTOME VAN MENSLIKE VERGIFTIGING Hoofpyn, vermoeidheid, floute, duiseligheid, oormatige sweet, mislikheid, buikpyn, braking, benoudheid, versteurde gesigsvermoë, spiertrekkings, gewoonlik verkleinde pupille, asemhalingsnood en bewusteloosheid. NOODHULPBEHANDELING Verwyder persoon van die oorsaak van vergiftiging na 'n koel, goed geventileerde omgewing Stel hom gerus en hou hom stil. Verwyder besoedelde klere en spoel die besmette liggaamsdele met baie seep en koue water af. Moenie die vel hard vryf nie. Besmette oë moet vir 15 minute met skoon water uitgespoel word. Indien per mond ingeneem, neem die pasiënt onmiddellik na die naaste geneesheer. Dien kunsmatige asemhaling of hartmassering toe indien nodig. Moet nie direkte mond tot mond asemhaling toepas nie. Moet nooit iets per mond aan n bewustelose persoon gee nie. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC/

4 NOTA AAN DIE GENEESHEER Dien atropiensulfaat binneaars (1 tot 4 mg) toe elke 5 tot 10 minute tot die eerste tekens van atropinisasie (droë gloeiende vel en tachycardia) voorkom. Pralidoxime (2-PAM, Protopam) en ander oksieme moet nie gebruik word nie. GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS: GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI LUGTOEDIENING ONCOL SUPER 220 EC kan slegs deur n geregistreerde Lugbespuitingsoperateur met n korrek gekalibreerde, geregistreerde vliegtuig volgens die instruksies van SANS (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides) uit die lug bespuit word. Verseker dat die spuitmengsel eweredig oor die teikenarea versprei word, en die verlies aan spuitmengsel tydens toediening tot n minimum beperk word. Dit is daarom belangrik om aan die volgende vereistes te voldoen: Volume: 'n Spuitmengsel volume van 30 tot 40 liter per hektaar word aanbeveel. Hierdie produk is nie teen 'n verlaagde volume getoets nie. Die registrasiehouer kan nie effektiwiteit waarborg, of verantwoordelik gehou word vir enige nadelige effekte indien hierdie produk teen 'n laer volume, as hierbo aanbeveel, toegedien word nie. Druppelbedekking: 25 tot 35 druppels per cm² moet op die teikenarea herwin word. Druppelgrootte: 'n Druppelspektrum met 'n VMD van 280 tot 300 mikrons word aanbeveel. Beperk die produksie van druppels kleiner as 150 mikrons (hoë drywing en verdampingspotensiaal) tot 'n minimum. Vlieghoogte: Handhaaf die hoogte van die spuitbalk bo die teiken op 3 tot 4 meter. Moet nie spuit wanneer die vliegtuig duik, uitklim of draai nie. Gebruik geskikte atomiseringsapparaat wat die vereiste druppelgrootte en bedekking sal produseer, maar die minste verlies van produk verseker. Die spuitstelsel moet n druppelspektrum met die kleinste moontlike Relatiewe Span produseer. Plaas al die atomiseerders in die binneste 60 tot 75 % van die vlerkspan om te verhoed dat druppels binne-in die vlerkpuntvorteks beweeg. Die verskil in temperatuur tussen die nat- en droëboltermometer van 'n swaaihigrometer, moet nie 8 C oorskry nie. Stop bespuiting indien die windspoed 15 km/h oorskry. Stop bespuiting tydens turbulente, onstabiele en droë toestande gedurende die hitte van die dag. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC/

5 Bespuiting onder temperatuur inversie toestande (deur bo of binne die inversie laag te spuit) en/of hoë lugvog toestande (relatiewe humiditeit 80 % en meer) mag tot volgende probleme aanleiding gee: - verlaagde effektiwiteit aangesien die druppels as 'n wolk in die lug bly hang en moontlik verdamp (onvoldoende bedekking op teiken), - skade aan nie-teiken gewasse of sensitiewe areas as gevolg van wegdrywing van die spuitwolk na nie-teiken area. Verseker dat die Lugbespuitingsoperateur presies weet watter lande bespuit moet word. Dit is noodsaaklik om 'n versekering van die Lugbespuitingsoperateur te verkry dat aan al die bogenoemde vereistes voldoen sal word en dat data van belang in n logboek saamgevat is vir toekomstige verwysing. MENGINSTRUKSIES ph van spuitwater ONCOL SUPER 220 EC se doeltreffendheid kan benadeel word deur baie harde water (> d.p.m. opgeloste stowwe) en deur alkaliese water met n hoë ph-waarde > 7. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC lewer optimale werking in verdunningswater met n ph van 4,5-5,5. Verdunningswater wat afwyk met n hoër of laer ph waarde moet gebuffer word met n geregistreerde water ph buffer teen die aanbevole dosis. Die water ph buffer moet eers vooraf met die totale volume water wat vir die betrokke tenkmengsel benodig word, gemeng word, daarna word die ONCOL SUPER 220 EC bygevoeg. Die gebruik van n geregistreerde bevorderingsmiddel word aanbeveel vir beter benatting, verspreiding en kleefvermoë van die spuitmengsel. Aangemaakte spuitmengsel moet nie onbepaald lank in die spuittenk gelaat word, bv.: oornag. GRONDTOEDIENING Deeglike benatting van plante is belangrik om goeie plaagbeheer te verkry. Vir algehele toediening moet 300 / ha spuitmengsel toegedien word en vir rybehandeling 3 / 100 m rylengte. 6 Bespuitings geskied op verkenningsresultate: a) Sorghum, Mielies Dien toe wanneer 10 % plante bokhaelskade simptome vertoon. Indien die larwes groter as 10 mm is en of wanneer n herinfestasie plaasvind, mag n tweede toediening 10 tot 12 dae later nodig wees. b) Suikermielies Dien toe wanneer eerste blaarskade waargeneem word. Opvolg bespuitings mag elke 14 dae nodig wees wanneer herinfestasie van veral Sorghumstronkboorder intree. Moet nie na pluimverskyning toedien nie. c) Moenie toegedien word op plante onder droogtestres nie. Sistemiese aktiwiteit word ook verminder in plante wat begin volwassenheid bereik. Dien slegs toe op sorghum, mielies en suikermielies wat aktief groei, tot voor pluim/aar in vlagblaar toegerol is. Behandel alvorens larwes die stam binnegedring het. d) Reën of besproeiing binne 8 uur na toediening kan plaagbeheer benadeel, en n opvolgbespuiting mag nodig wees. DOSISSE GEWAS EN PLAAG DOSIS/ha OPMERKINGS MIELIES, SUIKERMIELIES EN SORGHUM Sorghum stronkboorder (C. partellus) Mielie stronkboorder (B. fusca) Amerikaanse kommandowurm (Spodoptera frugiperda) Moet nie toegedien word op gewasse wat onder droogtestres verkeer nie. Sistemiese aksie verminder ook in volwasse plante. Dien slegs toe op gewasse wat aktief groei tot voor die pluim/aar in die vlagblaar van die verskillende gewasse toegerol is. Suikermielies: Dien toe sodra blaarskade waargeneem word. Indien die larwes groter as 10 mm is en of wanneer n herinfestasie plaasvind, mag n tweede toediening 10 tot 12 dae later nodig wees. 8 WARNINGS Allow the following number of days between last application and harvest or feeding. SORGHUM.. 28 DAYS MAIZE AND SWEETCORN Do not apply after tassel emergence Do not graze treated maize and sorghum fields. Handle with extreme care. Poisonous when ingested, inhaled or absorbed through skin. Mild eye irritant. Toxic to fish, wildlife and bees. Flammable - store away from open flames. Store away under lock and key from food and feed and out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. RE-ENTRY INTERVAL: Do not enter treated area within 2 days after treatment unless wearing protective clothing. In the case of poisoning, call a physician immediately and supply the label to the physician. AERIAL APPLICATION: Notify all inhabitants of the immediate area to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not spray over or allow drift to contaminate water or adjacent areas. Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions; compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the pest against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier or registration holder in the event of any uncertainty. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC/

9 PRECAUTIONS Avoid any inhalation of spray mist and contact with concentrate. Wear protective clothing - overall, rubber boots, face shield, face mask and gloves. Wash with water and soap after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke during handling, application and before washing. Prevent drift of spray mist onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams and areas not under treatment. Clean applicator after use. Dispose of wash water where no contamination of dams, rivers, grazing or crops can occur. Invert the empty container over the spray or mixing tank and allow to drain for at least 30 seconds after the flow has slowed down to a drip. Thereafter rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to a minimum of 10% of that of the container. Add the rinsings to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container in the prescribed manner. Do not re-use the empty containers for any other purpose but destroy it by perforation and flattening and dispose of it in a safe way. Prevent contamination of food, feed, eating utensils and drinking water. SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING Headache, fatigue, faintness, giddiness, excessive sweating, nausea, abdominal pains, vomiting, blurred vision, muscle twitching, small pupils, respiratory distress and coma. FIRST AID TREATMENT Remove patient from source of poisoning to a cool, well-ventilated area and keep him quiet and reassured. Remove contaminated clothing and rinse contaminated body area thoroughly with plenty of soap and cold water. Do not rub skin. Flush contamination out of eyes with clean water for 15 minutes. If swallowed, take the patient immediately to the nearest physician. Administer artificial respiration or closed chest cardiac massage if necessary. Do not apply direct mouth-to-mouth respiration. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC/

10 NOTE TO THE PHYSICIAN Administer Atropine sulphate intravenously (1 to 4 mg) every 5 to 10 minutes until signs of atropinization (dry flushed skin and tachycardia). Pralidoxime (2-PAM, Protopam) and other oximes are contra-indicated. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed AERIAL APPLICATION Aerial application of ONCOL SUPER 220 EC may only be done by a registered aerial application operator using a registered and correctly calibrated aircraft according to the instructions of SANS (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides). Ensure that the spray mixture is distributed evenly over the target area and that the loss of spray material during application is restricted to a minimum. It is therefore essential that the following criteria be met; Volume: A spray mixture volume of 30 to 40 litre per hectare is recommended. As this product has not been evaluated at a reduced volume rate, the registration holder cannot guarantee efficacy, or be held responsible for any adverse effects if this product is applied aerially at a lower volume rate than recommended above. Droplet coverage: 25 to 35 droplets per cm² must be recovered at the target area. Droplet size: A droplet spectrum with a VMD of 280 to 300 microns is recommended. Limit the production of fine droplets less than 150 microns (high drift and evaporation potential) to a minimum. Flying height: Maintain the height of the spray boom at 3 to 4 metres above the target. Do not spray when aircraft dives, is in a climb or when banking. Use suitable atomizing equipment that will produce the desired droplet size and coverage, but which will ensure the minimum loss of product. The spraying system must produce a droplet spectrum with the lowest possible Relative Span. Position all the atomizers within the inner 60 to 75 % of the wingspan to prevent droplets from entering the wingtip vortices. The difference in temperature between the wet and dry bulb thermometers, of a whirling hygrometer, should not exceed 8 C. Stop spraying if the wind speed exceeds 15 km/h. Stop spraying under turbulent, unstable and dry conditions during the heat of the day. Spraying under temperature inversion conditions (spraying in or above the inversion layer) and/or high humidity conditions (relative humidity 80 % and above) may lead to the following: - reduced efficacy due to suspension and evaporation of small droplets in the air (inadequate coverage), - damage to other sensitive crops and/or non-target areas through drifting of the suspended spray cloud away from the target field. 11 Ensure that the Aerial Spray Operator knows exactly which fields to spray. Obtain an assurance from the Aerial Spray Operator that the above requirements will be met and that relevant data will be compiled in a logbook and kept for future reference. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS ph of the spray water The efficacy of ONCOL SUPER 220 EC may be reduced by very hard water (> p.p.m solutes) and by alkaline water with a high ph value >7. When ONCOL SUPER 220 EC is used, the optimal efficacy thereof will be obtained in water with a ph of 4,5-5,5. Water of a higher or lower ph than 4,5-5,5 should be buffered to ph 4,5-5,5 by using a registered water ph buffer at the recommended rate. Where ph buffer is used to adjust the ph of the water the ph buffer must be mixed with the total volume of water required for that particular tank mixture before adding the ONCOL SUPER 220 EC. The use of a registered adjuvant is recommended for enhanced wetting, spreading and sticking of spray mixture. Use the spray mixture without delay and do not allow to stand for prolonged periods, eg. overnight. GROUND APPLICATION Thorough wetting of plants is important in order to achieve good pest control. For broadcast application a spray volume of 300 spray mixture per hectare should be used. For row application a spray volume of 3 spray mixture per 100 m row length should be used. NOTE: SORGHUM, MAIZE AND SWEETCORN Sorghum stalk borer (C. partellus) Maize stalk borer (B. fusca) Applications are based on scouting results. a) Sorghum, maize Apply when 10% of the plants show shothole damage. If the larvae are bigger than 10 mm or when re-infestation occurs, a second application days later may be necessary. ONCOL SUPER 220 EC/

12 b) Sweetcorn Apply when the first signs of shothole damage are visible. Repeat applications every 14 days when re-infestations of Sorghum stalkborer (C. partellus) occur. Do not apply after tassel emergence. c) Do not apply to crops under drought stress. Systemic activity is reduced by maturity. Therefore apply to maize, sorghum and sweetcorn which is growing actively and only apply up to the stage before the tassels/ears are enclosed by the flag leaf of the crops. Treat before larvae have entered the stalks. d) Rain or irrigation within 8 hours after application may adversely affect pest control and a follow-up application may be necessary.
