About a mile away at Waytown is the Hare and Hounds public house. Netherbury offers a quieter and slower pace of life, stunning scenery, fabulous outdoor activities from walking on the network of footpaths, to riding, inland or along the coast just 7.5 miles away. The surrounding land is farmed by a local organic farmer who also grazes livestock on the land at Patley Wood on an annual grazing licence. Running through the centre of the land is a shallow gulley into which natural springs run, supporting the large pond to the east of the house. An Arboretum stands in a field to the north and was planted by the current owner, comprising a mixture of rare specimen trees such as Tulip, Snake Bark and Ginkgo Biloba.
