2 Mission Statement To provide efficient and effective services in the areas of: Are Protection, Emergency Medical Services, Rescue SelVices, Hazatrlous Materials Response, Emergency Management Administration Division which includes Support Services, is respon"ble the administration of the department including budgeting, personnel nagement, equipment maintenance, building maintenance, and the acelui';itic," of equipment, supplies, and apparatus. 5 -Year Incident Summary 7,003 6,421 5,862 7,750 7,072 m;,m ~, er " and a budget of $14.1 m illion, the Lee's Summit Fire Department stands ready to provide the highest level of service in any type of emergency. In order to accomplish this task, the Lee's Summit Fire Department is organized into three divisions: Administration, Emergency Services, a.n.. d;;..;.f~ir;;; Prevention e -:--1I-~
3 Property Darnage Surnmcuy In 2007 the estimated value of properties invi,w,!d. in fire \'VaS a pprox mately $4,064,500. The estmated loss was less than $814,400. $4,064,500. The Lee's SlJrnm newest technology in fire fighting known as CAFS. The Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS) utilizes foam and air along vvth a minimal amount of water in the extinguishment of a fire. This new technology allows for less water damage and fewer rekindles than the standard water-only type of extinguishment Currently all front-line fire department pumpers are CAFS equipped. The Training Division, in a continuing effort to improve the level of proteetion and service delivery, continues to enhance technical training and certification for Hazardous Materials, Water Rescue, and Fire Operations Safety Officer. Since the completi _o :.;. n _~::::. of the new - Fire Station 7, the Training DivisK:," along with members of the department have the opportunity to train in the new state-of-the-art fire training facility. 5 Lee's Summit Fire Department Comm unications Division The Lee's Summit Fire Department Communications Division is a 24-hour a day operating Regional Communications Center. The LSFD Communications Divi,;on provides communication services to Lee's Summit Fire Dept., Fort Osage Fire Protection District, Lone Jack Fire Protection District, Lotawana Fire Protection District, Prairie Township Fire Protection District, Sni Valley Fire Protection District, West Peculiar Fire Protection District, and Western Cass Fire Protection District. 5-Year Regional Alarms ,000 8, ,000 2,000 o The Communications Center includes the latest in interactive whiteboard technology to allow the tracking of units during emergency and disaster situations.
