1 TOWN OF PALM BEACH FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: September 29, 2017 MEDIA CONTACT: Patricia Strayer, P.E., Town Engineer Phone: , Construction and Traffic Highlights for the Week of 10/02/2017 (1) FLAGLER MEMORIAL BRIDGE: Construction continues on the Flagler Memorial Bridge. For more information about the Flagler Memorial Bridge Replacement Project, call Public Information Officer Angel Gardner at (561) or her at Information can also be found on the project website: (2) SOUTHERN BOULEVARD BRIDGE: Construction continues on the Southern Boulevard Bridge. For more information about the Southern Boulevard Bridge Replacement Project, call Public Information Officer Angel Gardner at (561) (561) or her at Information can also be found on the project website: or (3) STREET LIGHT REPLACEMENT-TOWNWIDE: The Town s street light contractor will be working on North County Road or Bradley Place from Wells Road to Royal Poinciana Way performing electrical and restoration work. The contractor will also be working on Cocoanut Row from Royal Poinciana Way to Chapel Hill Road and on South County Road from Royal Palm Way to Worth Avenue. Two lanes of Traffic will be maintained. (4) LAKE TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS: Paving work will resume at the following locations. The path will be closed at these locations from October 2 until October 27. Tangier Ave. to Dunbar Road Dunbar Road Cul-De-Sac Whitehall Way toward Seaview Ave. (5) NIGHTINGALE TRAIL AND LA PUERTA WAY UNDERGROUND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS: Please read construction signage carefully while travelling in that area. Road restoration of La Puerta starting with the curbing. La Puerta Way will be closed to thru traffic from N Ocean Way to N Lake Way until October 13. (6) FPU GAS LINE REPLACEMENTS: Installation of gas lines, gas service connections and road restoration will take place on the following streets. Traffic will be directed by flaggers. Royal Poinciana Plaza Via Del Mar

2 (7) TOWN-WIDE UNDERGROUNDING (ONONDAGA AVE. TO NORTH TOWN LIMITS): Laurie Lane & Onondaga will be closed to through traffic (Local Traffic Only) for water main and storm drainage installation. North Ocean Blvd (from Debra Lane to Caribbean Rd.) - One lane of traffic will be closed for the installation of underground conduit. North Ocean Blvd (from Indian Rd. to the East Inlet) - One lane of traffic will be closed for the watermain installation. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. (8) AT&T WORK IN THE RIGHT OF WAY: AT&T s contractor Hypower has a Right of Way Permit to install new conduit on Cocoanut Row from Australian Avenue to Royal Palm Way. The Contractor intends to work form the parallel parking spaces adjacent to the southbound lane. They also have a Right of Way Permit for Australian Avenue from Cocoanut Row east to South County Road and also intend to use the parallel parking along the north side of the road. Flaggers and advanced warning signs will be present to assist traffic flow (9) SOUTHERN BOULEVARD WATERMAIN MAINTENACE: The City of West Palm Beach s contractor is Felix Associates of Florida will be performing inspections and maintenance on the City s watermain. The project from Washington Road in West Palm Beach to South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach. The maintenance is anticipated to be completed on or before November 22, Twoway traffic will be maintained on Southern Boulevard. Intermittent closures, when required, will be scheduled to occur during nighttime hours. For information regarding the project, please contact the City of West Palm Beach, Engineering Services Department at (561) (10) CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH WATER SERVICE WORK: The City has been issued a Right of Way permit for 80 Middle Road for new water services. Work is not expected to last more than a day or two. The City will maintain access to all residences in the area. Traffic will be maintained with signs and flaggers. (11) FLORIDA POWER & LIGHT: FPL has been issued a Right of Way permit and will be working in the following locations. Traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. Bradley Place at Oleander Avenue North County Road at Seminole Avenue North County Road at Everglade Avenue North County Road at Atlantic Avenue (12) WATERMAIN MAINTENANCE: The City of West Palm Beach will be working on Sunrise Avenue between Bradley Place and North County Road. The contractor will maintain two-way traffic and parallel parking will be unavailable during the time the work is being performed. Twoway traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. Please drive carefully within the area. (13) TOWN WIDE CURB PAINTING: This project involves painting of existing yellow curbing throughout Town. There may periodic blocking of parking stalls to complete these tasks. Curb painting staff will be wearing safety vests or safety shirts when in ROW, no traffic flow should be impeded. (14) STREET LIGHT PAINTING: The Towns painting contractor, Roof Painting by Hartzel, will be painting streetlights adjacent to Town roadways. There will be intermittent sidewalk closures and parking space closures. There will be advanced warning signs posted, traffic cones, and flagmen directing pedestrian s and traffic to alternate routes as needed. The following streets and roadways will be affected:

3 -400 block of Royal Palm Way -Gulfstream Rd -200 Block of Seaspray Avenue -S. Ocean Blvd from Barton Avenue to Sloan s Curve -S. County Road from Worth Avenue to El Bravo (15) TOWN WIDE TREE TRIMMING IN PARKS AND COMMON AREAS: This work involves the trimming and removal of branches and limbs broken during Hurricane Irma. There will be intermittent lane closures and parking stalls will be used wherever available. Flaggers, advance warning signs and traffic cones will be used to assist with traffic flow. The following areas will be affected. North County Rd ficus canopy between Wells Rd and Miraflores Wrightsman and Dean Park Emerald Park Lakeside Park Worth Ave and County Rd Royal Palm Way Kapok Trees Peruvian Ave. Phipps Plaza (16) REMOVAL OF TABBY CONCRETE PALM TREE SURROUNDS ON WORTH AVE: This project involves the removal of damaged or lifted concrete areas around the east and west portions of palm tree surrounds. There will be intermittent parking stall closures while the work is being performed. This project will begin on the 100 block of Worth Avenue and continue through the 300 block effecting both north and south sides of the Avenue. (17) TOWN WIDE REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF DAMAGED SIDEWALKS: This project involves the removal and replacement of individual sections of cracked or damaged sidewalks. There will be intermittent parking stall closures while the work is being performed. The following streets and roadways will be affected: -South Ocean Blvd. -Via Marina -Gulfstream Road -Middle Rd -Hammon Ave -Peruvian Ave -Chilean Ave -Australian Ave -S. Lake Drive -Seaspray Ave -Cocoanut Row -Clarke Ave -Main Street -Sunset Ave -Seminole Ave - Everglade Ave -Wells Circle -Park Ave -North County Road -Royal Palm Way -Brazilian Ave -Sea Breeze Ave (18) COUNTRY CLUB ROAD TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE: Due to work being performed on the D-8 Pump Station Public Works has to place a trailer mounted temporary generator in the roadway in front of the station. The road will be open to local traffic only until further notice. (19) TOWN WIDE COCONUT PALM TRIMMING: There will be limited lane closures with periodic blocking of parking stalls. Flaggers, advance warning signs, and traffic control devices will be present to assist with traffic flow. The following streets and roadways will be affected:

4 MONDAY October, 2 nd Worth Ave (blocks ) Royal Palm Way (100 block) THURSDAY October, 5 th South Lake Dr (All) Gulfstream Ave (All) Via Marina (All) Middle Rd (All) TUESDAY October, 3 rd FRIDAY October, 6 th Hibiscus (blocks 0-400) Causeway & Traffic Circle Cocoanut Row (blocks ) Ibis Way (Circle) Brazilian Ave (blocks ) Ibis Isle Park Australian Ave (blocks ) South Fire Peruvian Park WEDNESDAY October, 4 th D-14 Australian Ave (blocks ) Park Ave Chilean Ave (blocks ) Town Nursery Peruvian Ave (blocks 100 & 400) (20) ISLAND ROAD BRIDGE REPAIRS: This project involves the removal and replacement of individual sections of cracked or damaged concrete along the bridge which will require a single lane closure from Monday Oct 2 nd to Friday Oct 6 th. The bridge will remain open to traffic and MOT will be maintained with signs and flaggers by the contractor. TOWN REMINDERS: 1. Private construction projects are limited to three (3) on-street parking permits. Adherence to this rule will improve the effectiveness of the crews collecting vegetation from the right of way. 2. Landscape contractors and residents; regular collection schedules have resumed, per ordinance, during the months of May through and including the month of October, trash may be placed on the public right-of-way, adjacent to the property from which it came, not more than three days prior to the scheduled day of collection. RIGHT-OF-WAY PERMITS:Private construction projects are limited to three (3) on-street parking permits. Surrounding residents should not be adversely impacted by construction vehicles and/or associated employee parking. Please call to report congestion or abuse. A Right of Way permit has been issued to SMC for 101 Via Marina to mill and resurface the road. Twoway traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. A Right of Way permit has been issued to SMC for 1900 South Ocean Boulevard to mill and resurface the road. Two-way traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. A Right of Way permit has been issued to AT &T for South Ocean Boulevard at the Southern Blvd traffic circle. Traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. TRAFFIC HELP-LINE:A dedicated traffic telephone line is also available from 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday to report excessive traffic delays or concerns.
