4 Termnology / Standards and regulatons Termnology Heatng water temperature The heatng water temperature s the radator flow temperature. The hgher the heatng water temperature, the hgher the heat transfer to radators. oler Gas fred boler, whch can be combned wth a DHW cylnder. ombnaton boler Gas fred boler wth an nstantaneous water heater and DHW QuckStart. DHW loadng Heatng up the DHW cylnder. DHW QuckStart The heatng water n the boler wll be held at a certan temperature durng summer mode, to be able to supply hot water as rapdly as possble from the nstantaneous water heater of the combnaton boler. The day program swtches ths functon O and OFF durng summer mode. Heatng program Subject to program selecton, the day program swtches the gas fred boler from heatng to economy mode or from heatng mode to heatng OFF and vce versa. Wnter mode entral heatng and DHW accordng to the day program. Summer mode entral heatng OFF, DHW accordng to the day program. Heatng mode/economy mode In wnter mode, two room temperatures can be selected. One for central heatng mode and one for economy mode, when the room temperature wll be setback to economy temperature. The day program changes over between heatng and economy mode. Standards and regulatons In gas fred combnaton bolers, the analog room thermostat ART comples wth the followng Drectves: - Low Voltage Drectve: 73/23/EE - EM Drectve: 89/336/EE Domestc hot water program In a combnaton boler, the day program controls the DHW QuckStart, and for a boler wth a DHW cylnder, t swtches the cylnder loadng O and OFF. 4

5 Installaton / US nterface settng Installaton - Install the ART on an nternal wall at a heght of approx. 1.5 m. - Install the ART n a lvng room, whch s representatve of the entre lvng accommodaton. - The ART must not be subject to draughts or radated heat. - The ART must not be blocked by furnture or curtans. - In ths room, all radator valves must be fully opened. - Lever the ART top from ts base usng a screwdrver. In dong so, nsert the screwdrver nto the lower cutout of the base, and lever the base at the termnal strp. Remove the ART from ts base usng a screwdrver Telecontrol contact onnecton data cable e-us or SOM Fxng holes Plug to the top part - Secure the base through the fxngs holes. US nterface settng Wolf bolers are equpped ether wth an e-us or a SOM nterface for control accessores. The nterface can be selected wth the DIP swtches on the back of the ART. onnecton to Wolf bolers wth eus nterface For bolers wth eus nterface, the US termnals are marked + and - together wth eus. The nterface address for eus s set at the factory (DIP swtch 4 s set to O, swtches 1 to 3 are set to OFF ). onnecton to Wolf bolers wth SOM nterface For bolers wth SOM nterface, the US termnals are marked + and - n accordance wth connecton dagrams together wth (Wolf) Accessory (DIP swtches 1 to 4 are set to OFF ). Accessory Accessory Please note: All accessory controllers (US users) must be set to the same boler nterface. 5

6 Electrcal connecton The electrcal connecton must only be carred out by a qualfed electrcan. Subject to boler termnal strp, select one of the adjacent wrng dagrams. Then you can change the desred room temperature for heatng mode. If no change s made after more than 2 s, the dsplay wll agan show the current room temperature. Open the front flap on the ART controller to set the current tme or to change from summer to wnter tme or vce versa. After pressng the tme key q the dsplay changes to the tme settng mode. ow adjust the tme wth the r.h. rotary selector. The standard dsplay wll be shown agan f no changes are made after more than 10 s or one of the three keys s pressed. ontractor level key Settng the economy temperature After pressng the economy temperature key the dsplay changes to the settng mode for the requred room temperature n economy mode. The current set temperature for economy mode wll be dsplayed. Turnng the r.h. rotary selector (heatng mode temperature selector) changes ths value. The standard dsplay wll be shown agan f no changes are made after more than 10 s or one of the three keys s pressed. 8

Heatng mode settngs and enablng DHW cylnder loadng/dhw QuckStart: push the DIP swtch up for the requred perod. The set room temperature for heatng mode wll be used. Economy mode or central heatng OFF (subject to the program selector settng):push the DIP swtches for the requred perod down /. The selected set room temperature for economy mode s used or the central heatng s swtched OFF. DHW loadng or DHW QuckStart are dsabled. The shortest swtchng perod s 30 mnutes. ote: The day program settngs wll only be actve, f the program selector has been set n accordance wth the day program, or. q q Day program example q 1x Reset / h / h Heatng O from h Heatng OFF/economy from h For bolers wth DHW cylnder loadng enabled from h DHW cylnder loadng dsabled from h 1 x DHW If DHW s requred outsde the perod where DHW loadng s enabled, the DHW cylnder can be heated to the set temperature by means of functon 1 x DHW. Pressng keys q and smultaneously ether actvates or deactvates ths functon. In the actvated state, a flashng arrow appears on symbol. 10 ontractor level ontractor level Pressng key changes the dsplay to contractor level. The contractor level s segregated nto dsplay and parameter mode. Indvdual dsplays (e.g. A:01) and parameters (e.g. P:01) are shown n sequence after pressng. In parameter mode you can change the values dsplayed above the r.h. rotary selector. Warnng Parameters G must only be modfed by a heatng contractor. Incorrect operaton can lead to system faults. Parameter 5 (outsde temperature frost protecton) s only effectve wth an outsde temperature sensor. 10

11 ontractor level Automatc summer and wnter changeover The ART wll automatcally change over to summer mode (heatng crcut pump s swtched OFF), f the room temperature rses 1K above the set room temperature. The system automatcally reverts to heatng mode (heatng crcut pump s swtched O), when the actual room temperature falls below the set room temperature. ote: In summer mode, the status dsplay shows or. Fault codes Any fault of the gas fred boler wll be ndcated by a flashng fault code number and the warnng symbol n the ART dsplay. Fault code dsplay Fault code Explanaton 91 Wrong address set - ART Fault code 91: In systems wth several controllers, two (e.g. AWT, ART) are set to the same US address. orrect the address settngs usng the DIP swtches on the respectve controllers. heck the nstallaton nstructons of the respectve boler for an explanaton of all other fault codes. If the devce wll not operate properly after the boler has been reset twce, or f the boler cannot be reset, nform your heatng contractor of the fault code dsplayed. Room temperature dependent frost protecton Heatng mode commences wth a set room temperature of +5 f the room temperature n summer mode drops below 5. The frost protecton functons ends f the actual room temperature rses above +6. Even durng frost protecton, the status dsplay remans at. Set DHW temperature (P 03) Settng the desred DHW temperature for eus nterfaces. For SOM nterfaces, the DHW temperature wll only be dsplayed. Adjustments are made at the boler. Pasteursaton (P 04) (only wth eus n conjuncton wth a boler wth DHW cylnder) Pasteursaton s swtched OFF when factory settngs are actve (parameter P 04 = 00). Pasteursaton s actve f parameter P 04 s set to 01. The DHW cylnder wll be heated to 65 once every day for one hour after DHW loadng has been enabled, f pasteursaton has been actvated. Parameter P 04 wll be dsplayed durng eus communcaton. ontroller reset The ART processor s restarted by pressng Reset. The dsplay ndcates the software number, verson and all symbols n sequence. Loadng the standard confguraton Hold down key q and brefly press Reset. The software number and verson and then EEP are dsplayed. The ART s then reset to ts factory settngs. 11
