2 Onkruiddoder WAARSKUWINGS: Mag oogirritasie veroorsaak indien in kontak kom met oë. Giftig indien ingesluk. Giftig vir visse en ander waterorganismes. Berg in 'n koel, droë plek, weg van voedsel en voer. Hou buite bereik van kinders, oningeligte persone en diere. Herbetreding - Moenie behandelde lande binnegaan tot nadat die spuitneerslag droog is nie, tensy beskermende oorklere gedra word. Lugtoediening - stel alle inwoners in die onmiddellike omgewing van die gebied wat gespuit sal word in kennis en reik die nodige waarskuwings uit. Moenie oor water of aangrensende gebiede spuit nie of die spuitstof daarheen laat wegdryf nie. Hussar is 'n baie aktiewe onkruiddoder wat, indien dit verkeerdelik aangewend word, ernstige skade kan veroorsaak aan gewassaailinge en sagte vrugteboorde en wingerde tydens bot en vroeë seisoensgroei. Onder die volgende klimaatstoestande kan Hussar wat met 'n vliegtuig toegedien word, dus ernstige skade aanrig sover as 3 tot 5 km vanaf die naaste vlugbaan. Bewolkte weer met relatiewe humiditeit hoër as 80 % en stadige lugbeweging van minder as 5 km / uur. Waar sulke toestande dus voorkom en gewassaailinge of sagte vrugteboorde of wingerde in bot en vroeë seisoensgroei binne 5 km vanaf die naaste vlugbaan van die vliegtuig voorkom moet Hussar nie toegedien word nie. Alhoewel Hussar op die meeste belangrike kultivars getoets is, met geen betekenisvolle simptome van fitotoksisiteit in die vorm van oesverlagings, onder normale groeitoestande nie, beteken dit nie dat 'n meer vatbare kultivar nie in die toekoms gekommersialiseer kan word nie. Waar 'n nuwe kultivar teëgekom word, moet groot areas nie behandel word voordat Hussar op daardie kultivar getoets is nie. RAADPLEEG DIE VERSKAFFER IN DIE GEVAL VAN ENIGE ONSEKERHEID. VOORSORGMAATREëLS: Moenie die dampe of sproeinewel inasem nie en vermy kontak met die oë. Dra 'n gesigskerm wanneer die produk hanteer of toegedien word. In geval van oogkontak spoel onmiddellik met voldoende skoon water vir minstens 15 minute. Moenie eet, drink of rook tydens vermenging of toediening of voordat hande en gesig gewas en skoon klere aangetrek is nie. Was met seep en koue water na toevallige velkontak. Verhoed wegdrywing van die sproeinewel na ander gewasse, weidings, riviere, damme of ander gebiede wat nie behandel word nie. Verhoed besoedeling van voedsel, eetgerei, voer en drinkwater. Moenie meer as eenmaal per groeiseisoen op dieselfde land toedien nie. Moenie vliegtuig kalibreer, of stortbak leegmaak oor weidings, onbehandelde gewasse of waterbronne nie. Maak alle apparaat deeglik skoon na gebruik en moenie die omgewing met spoelwater besoedel nie. Maak spuitapparaat / vliegtuig deeglik skoon voor hergebruik d.m.v. die volgende metode: 1. Dreineer tenk. Spoel tenk, spuitbalk en pype met skoon water uit en dreineer weer 'n keer. 2. Vul tenk met skoon water en voeg huishoudelike ammoniak (bevat 3 % aktief) by teen 'n konsentrasie van 1 %. Sirkuleer die ammoniakoplossing deur die tenk, spuitbalk en pype vir minstens 15 minute. Dreineer heeltemal. 3. Om ammoniak-oorblyfsels te verwyder spoel die tenk, pype en spuitbalk met skoon water uit en dreineer. 4. Spuitkoppe en filtreerders moet verwyder word en apart skoongemaak word met 'n ammoniakoplossing van dieselfde konsentrasie soos hierbo. 5. Enige kontaminasie aan die buitekante van die spuittoerusting moet verwyder word deur dit met skoon water af te was. Sodra die houer leeg is spoel dit driekeer uit met 'n volume water gelyk aan minstens 'n tiende van die houer en gooi die spoelwater by die inhoud van die spuittenk. Vernietig die houer deur gate daarin te maak en te begrawe of te verbrand. Moenie die houer vir enige ander doel gebruik nie. WEERSTANDSWAARSKUWING: Hussar behoort aan die sulfoniel ureum groep van onkruiddoders. Die primêre metode van werking van hierdie groep is die inhibering van die 'acetolactate synthase' (ALS) ensiem en as sulks word dit deur HRAC as 'n Groepkode B onkruiddoder geklassifiseer. Sommige biotipe onkruide wat natuurlik voorkom, en weerstand bied teen Hussar en ander ALS inhiberende onkruiddoders, mag bestaan a.g.v. normale genetiese verskille in enige onkruidpopulasie. Hierdie weerstandbiedende individue kan uiteindelik die hele onkruidpopulasie domineer as bogenoemde onkruiddoders herhaaldelik gebruik word. Hierdie weerstandbiedende onkruide sal nie deur Hussar beheer word nie en dit is onwaarskynlik dat dit deur enige van die ander ALS inhiberende onkruiddoders beheer sal word. Aangesien die voorkoms van weerstandbiedende onkruide moeilik is om te bepaal voor onkruiddodertoediening plaasvind, is dit uiters noodsaaklik dat behandelde gebiede met gereelde intervalle ondersoek word om weerstand vroegtydig te identifiseer. Bayer (Edms) Bpk. sal nie verantwoordelikheid aanvaar vir enige gebrek aan prestasie in die geval van die opbou van weerstand in die onkruidpopulasie as gevolg van onvoldoende onkruidbestandheidsbestuur soos aangedui op die etiket nie. Om die seleksie van weerstandbiedende onkruide te vertraag: Moet alle metodes van grondbewerking en ander meganiese beheermetodes (insluitende nie-selektiewe onkruiddoders gedurende die braak/onbewerkte periode) in die onkruidbeheerprogram ingesluit word wanneer prakties moontlik. Aanhoudende gebruik van onkruiddoders met dieselfde metode van werking, moet vermy word. Wissel af met produkte van ander onkruiddodergroepkodes. Monitor altyd die effektiwiteit van die onkruiddoder kort na bespuiting. Hou rekord van onkruiddodergebruik vir elk van die lande. 3 Onkruiddoder GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS : GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI VERENIGBAARHEID Verenigbaarheidstudies is in koring en gars gedoen met Hussar in kombinasie met elk van EEN van die benatters en EEN van die middels soos hieronder gelys (tensy anders aangedui op hierdie etiket): AANGESIEN VARIASIES MAG VOORKOM TUSSEN FORMULASIES VAN PRODUKTE WAT DIESELFDE AKTIEWE BESTANDDELE BEVAT, WORD DIE HANDELSNAME EN REGISTRASIENOMMERS VAN DIE GETOETSTE PRODUKTE HIERBY AANGEDUI. MOENIE HUSSAR MET ENIGE ANDER PRODUKTE VERMENG NIE. Met Swamdoders: Hussar is NIE VERENIGBAAR met enige swamdoders op GARS nie. Mengsels met verskeie swamdoders het vergeling en groeivertraging van gars getoon. Hussar is wel verenigbaar met Folicur 250 EW (Reg. Nr. L3857), Punch Xtra (Reg. Nr. L4243) en Punch C (Reg. Nr. L3626) op koring. Met Insekdoders: Hussar is verenigbaar met Folimat 800 SL (Reg. Nr. L2316) en Metasystox R 250 EC (Reg. Nr. L5584) op beide koring en gars. Met Onkruiddoders: Hussar is verenigbaar met Buctril-DS (Reg. Nr. L3350), Bentrol Super (Reg. Nr. L5167), Brominal Super (Reg. Nr. L5168), Pardner Super (Reg. Nr. L7280) en Bayer MCPA (Reg. Nr. L1404), of mengsels van hierdie produkte, op beide koring en gars. Met Bymiddels: Hussar is verenigbaar met Ballista (Reg. Nr. L7442). MENGINSTRUKSIES: Meng die benodigde hoeveelheid Hussar vooraf met 'n klein hoeveelheid water totdat die middel ten volle gedispergeer het. Maak die spuittenk of mengbak, in die geval van lugbespuiting, halfvol met skoon water en voeg die vooraf vermengde Hussar konsentraat deur 'n sif in die tenk. Indien 'n tenkmengsel met 'n swamdoder of insekdoder verlang word, moet dit na die Hussar in die tenk gevoeg word, terwyl roering steeds plaasvind en die tenk volgemaak word tot die verlangde vlak. Maak seker dat deeglike roering van die spuitmengsel ten alle tye volgehou word. Berei slegs genoeg spuitmengsel voor vir onmiddellike gebruik. Moenie die spuitmengsel vir lang tydperke bv., oornag laat staan nie. TOEDIENING : Hussar moet as 'n na-opkom behandeling van beide die gewas en die onkruid toegedien word soos aangedui. GRONDTOEDIENING: Dien toe deur middel van 'n trekker gemonteerde spuitbalk wat korrek gekalibreer is om minstens spuitmengsel per hektaar teen 'n konstante spoed en druk toe te dien en wat 'n goeie en eweredige bedekking sal verseker. Die effektiwiteit van Hussar is geëvalueer met sekere kousbalkspuite. Aanvaarbare beheer van onkruide (soos aangedui) was verkry met hierdie toedienings teen watervolumes van minstens 75 /ha. LUGTOEDIENING: MOENIE LUGBESPUITING BEGIN VOORDAT U U HUSSAR VERTEENWOORDIGER GESPREEK HET NIE. Lugtoediening mag slegs deur 'n geregistreerde lugbespuitingsoperateur met 'n korrek gekalibreerde, geregistreerde vliegtuig volgens die instruksies van STANSA Kode 0118 (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides) gedoen word. Dit is belangrik om te verseker dat die spuitmengsel eweredig oor die teikenarea versprei word en dat die verlies aan spuitmengsel tydens toediening tot 'n minimum beperk word. Dit is dus belangrik om aan die volgende kriteria te voldoen: Toerusting: - Gebruik geskikte atomiseringsapparaat (hidroliese of roterende spuitkoppe) wat die vereiste druppelgrootte en bedekking sal produseer, maar wat die minste verlies van produk deur wegdrywing sal verseker. - Die operateur moet 'n stelsel gebruik wat 'n druppelspektrum met die kleinste moontlike relatiewe span sal produseer. - Al die spuitneuse/atomiseerders moet in die binneste 75 % van die vlerkspan geplaas word om die beweging van druppels in die vlerkvorteks in te verhoed. Toedieningsparameters: - 'n Minimum volume van 30 spuitmengsel per hektaar word aanbeveel. Aangesien hierdie produk nie teen 'n verlaagde volume getoets is nie, kan die registrasiehouer nie effektiwiteit waarborg, of verantwoordelik gehou word vir enige nadelige effek indien hierdie produk teen 'n laer volume as hierbo aanbeveel, uit die lug toegedien word nie. - 'n Druppelbedekking van druppels per cm² moet op die teikenarea herwin word. - 'n Druppelspektrum met 'n VMD van mikron word aanbeveel. Verseker dat die produksie van fyn druppels (kleiner as 150 mikron) tot 'n minimum beperk word. - Die hoogte van die spuitbalk moet op 3-4 meter bo die teiken gehandhaaf word. Moenie spuit wanneer die vliegtuig aan die bopunt is van, of tydens 'n duik, of terwyl dit uitklim of draai nie. - Dien toe voordat die gewas te ruig word wat sal verhoed dat onkruide behoorlik bedek word. Meteorologiese toestande : - Die verskil tussen die nat- en droëbollesing, soos met 'n swaaihigrometer bepaal, moet nie 8 C oorskry nie. - Moenie toedien tydens turbulente, onstabiele toestande gedurende die hitte van die dag wanneer styg en dalende konveksie windbeweging plaasvind nie. - Moenie toedien onder temperatuur inversie toestande (deur bo of binne die inversielaag te spuit) nie. - Moenie spuit indien die windspoed 15 km/uur oorskry nie. Algemeen : - Sorg dat die lande akkuraat gemerk is en die spuitoperateur presies weet watter lande gespuit moet word. - Verkry 'n versekering van die spuitoperateur dat aan die bogenoemde vereistes voldoen sal word.

Grond- of lugtoediening: 200 g Hussar plus 375 m Buctril-DS of Bentrol Super of Brominal Super of Pardner Super/ ha plus Ballista teen 500 m / ha. (Sien Verenigbaarheid met Bymiddels.) Grondtoediening: 200 g Hussar plus 500 m Bayer MCPA /ha plus Ballista teen 500 m / ha. (Sien Verenigbaarheid met Bymiddels). OF 200 g Hussar plus 375 m Buctril-DS of Bentrol Super of Brominal Super of Pardner Super plus 500 m Bayer MCPA plus Ballista teen 500 m / ha. (Sien Verenigbaarheid met Bymiddels). Dien toe wanneer die ONKRUID volledig opgekom het en die optimum grootte bereik het. (Sien ONKRUIDE BEHEER tabel vir optimum toedieningstyd vir individuele onkruide.) VERWYS NA INSTRUKSIES ONDER 'TOEDIENING' SIEN OOK BELANGRIKE NOTAS A. ONKRUIDBEHEER 1. Hussar is die effektiefste wanneer humiditeit hoog is en toestande gunstig is vir groei van beide die gewas en die onkruid. 2. Onkruide moenie groter wees as wat aangedui word in die onkruidtabelle nie. 3. 'n Digte onkruidstand verhinder druppelpenetrasie wat lei tot onvoldoende bedekking en moontlike swak beheer. 4. Hoë onkruidpopulasies onderdruk die ontkieming van saad, wat neig om op te kom nadat die teikenonkruide beheer is. 5. Hussar het 'n beperkte residuele effek op ontkiemende onkruide. Dit word beïnvloed deur faktore soos onkruidspesie, grond ph en grondvog. Onkruide wat na toediening ontkiem, sal swak beheer word. 6. Waar die gewas 'n digte blaarbedekking ontwikkel het, is penetrasie tot by die teiken onkruide swak, wat swak beheer sal meebring, veral in die geval van lugtoediening. Waar daar twyfel bestaan, moet grondbespuiting eerder gebruik word, in welke geval meer aandag aan druppelpenetrasie gegee moet word. 7. Onvoldoende of wisselvallige onkruidbeheer en / of hergroei kan voorkom wanneer Hussar onder een of meer van die volgende toestande toegedien word: Ligte, sanderige gronde wat geneig is om te loog of te versuip. Gronde met 'n lae ph (suurgronde). Bespuiting later as vier weke na opkom van die onkruide Bespuiting op onkruide teenwoordig voor saai maar wat nie deur voor-saai bewerkings of nie-selektiewe onkruiddodertoedienings gedood is nie. Indien onkruide in digte populasies gekonsentreer is in windrye wat deur die stroper gelaat is Indien die gewasdigtheid laag is, is die mate van onderdrukking wat die gewas op die onkruid uitoefen, ook laer. Indien onkruide tydens toediening onder stremming verkeer as gevolg van swak groeitoestande soos byvoorbeeld: onvoldoende grondvog (droogte), uitermate hoë onkruidpopulasies hittestremming, koue, brakheid of buitensporige vogstremming of waar lande in 'n versuiptoestand is, beskadiging deur insekte of enige ander oorsaak wat 'n negatiewe invloed kan hê tydens die opneem van die middel moontlike stremming veroorsaak deur die vroeëre toediening van 'n ander landboumiddel 8. Dit kan verwag word dat die onkruide binne vyf weke na bespuiting sal afsterf, met definitiewe simptome beginnende 2-3 weke na bespuiting. Ooreenkomstig die weerstandbeheerstrategie moet die Hussar verbruiker die RESULTATE ONGEVEER DRIE WEKE NA BEHANDELING ONDERSOEK. Teen dié tyd sal dit heeltemal duidelik wees hoe suksesvol die onkruidbeheer is, want dooie en sterwende grasse en breëblaaronkruide sal nog teenwoordig wees. 9. Dit is nie bekend of Hussar die ontkieming van Inula graveolens (Kaapse kakiebos / Kamfer-inula) stimuleer of nie. 10. Opslag 'mak' hawer (veral Sederberg) mag nie voldoende deur Hussar beheer word nie. B. GEWASVEILIGHEID 1. Tydelike vergeling en effense groeivertraging mag op koring en gars voorkom onder normale groeitoestande. Hierdie simptome sal vererger met oordosering en daarom moet oorvleueling van spuitbane vermy word. Om oordosering te verhoed moet spuitneuse toegemaak word wanneer die trekker stilstaan of stadiger beweeg as die snelheid waarteen dit gekalibreer was. 2. Indien die gewas onder stremming verkeer tydens toediening (bv. onvoldoende grondvog, koue, versuipingstoestande, onvoldoende plantdiepte, of enige ander faktor wat normale groei verhoed) en hierdie toestand duur voort na toediening, mag die simptome beskryf onder Nota B1 hierbo voortduur en opbrengs nadelig beïnvloed word.

5 Onkruiddoder 3. Gars wat laat geplant word (na einde Mei) mag nadeliger beïnvloed word as gevolg van beperkte groeityd vir herstel. 4. Garsplante wat onder stremming verkeer a.g.v. die onkruiddoder sal meer vatbaar wees vir swamsiektes (veral bruinroes) en die doeltreffendheid van die swamdoder kan ook nadelig beïnvloed word. C. ANDER GEWASSE 1. Moenie Hussar op graangewasse toedien wat met peulgewasse ondersaai is nie. Hussar kan gebruik word in graangewasse wat in 'n kort wisselboustelsel met medics is. 2. Die oorwaai van Hussar spuitnewel na aangrensende gewasse, anders as koring, gars of korog, kan ernstige skade aan die nie-teiken gewas aanrig. Elke moontlike maatreël moet aangewend word om te verhoed dat spuitnewel aangrensende gewasse bereik. 3. OPVOLGGEWASSE EN WISSELBOU : Die volgende opvolggewas-intervalle is geldig slegs indien Hussar, EEN keer per seisoen toegedien is op gronde met 'n ph van minder as 7,0 (KCl), en die gebied 'n gemiddelde of bogemiddelde reënval gedurende die seisoen en ook in die opvolgseisoen, ontvang het: Canola, verboude klawer of medics, lupiene (bitter en soet), lusern, mielies, koring, gars, hawer, rog, sorghum, sojabone of korog kan in die seisoen na die Hussar behandeling gesaai word ('n wagperiode van 9-10 maande). Die wagperiode vir alle ander gewasse is onbekend. Hussar toegedien op baie sanderige grond of grond met ph vlakke wat 7 (KCl) oorskry of vry kalk bevat, mag 'n langer residuele uitwerking hê op opvolggewasse. D. GROND, WATER & KLIMAAT 1. Twee (2) ure word benodig vir opname van die middel voor dit begin reën. 2. Gebruik goeie kwaliteit water. Moenie Hussar gebruik op gronde wat vry kalk bevat nie, aangesien dit die effektiwiteit sowel as die residuele aktiwiteit van Hussar mag beïnvloed, die herbeplantingsperiode kan verleng en die keuse van wisselbougewasse beperk. 6 Herbicide WARNINGS: May cause eye irritation when in contact with eyes. Poisonous when swallowed. Toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Store in a cool, dry place, away from food and feed. Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals. Re-entry - Do not enter treated fields until after the spray deposit has dried unless wearing protective clothing. Aerial application - notify all inhabitants in the immediate vicinity of the area to be sprayed and issue the necessary warnings. Do not spray over or allow drift to contaminate water or adjacent areas. Hussar is a highly active herbicide that in very small quantities, when used incorrectly, can cause serious damage to crop seedlings and deciduous fruit trees and grapevines during the budding and early season growth stages. Under the following conditions it can cause serious damage as far as 3 to 5 kilometers from the nearest flight path of the aircraft. Cloudy weather with relative humidity above 80% and low air movement of less than 5 km per hour. Where such conditions prevail, aerial application should not be carried out where crop seedlings or deciduous fruit and grapevines in budding or early development stages are present within 5 kilometers of the nearest flight path of the aircraft. Although Hussar has been tested on most important cultivars and no significant phytotoxicity in the form of yield reduction has been recorded under normal growing conditions, this does not mean that a more sensitive cultivar might not be commercialized in the future. Where a new cultivar is encountered, large areas should not be sprayed without prior testing of Hussar on that cultivar. CONSULT THE SUPPLIER IN THE EVENT OF ANY UNCERTAINTY. PRECAUTIONS: Do not inhale fumes or spray mist and do not allow spray to come into contact with eyes. Wear a face shield when handling or applying the product. In the case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of clean water for at least 15 minutes. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing or applying or before washing hands and face and changing clothes. Wash with soap and cold water after accidental skin contact. Prevent spray drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams or other areas not under treatment. Prevent contamination of food, eating utensils, feed and drinking water. Do not apply more than once per growing season at any given site. Do not calibrate aircraft or clear hopper over grazing, crops not under treatment or water sources. Clean all equipment thoroughly after use and do not pollute the environment with wash water. Clean applicator/aircraft thoroughly before re-using, using the following method : 1. Drain tank completely then flush tank, boom and hoses with clean water. Drain again. 2. Fill the tank with clean water and add household ammonia (containing 3% active) at a concentration of 1%. Circulate the ammonia solution through the tank, boom and hoses for at least 15 minutes. Drain completely. 3. To remove traces of ammonia, rinse the tank, hoses and boom with clean water and drain. 4. Nozzles and filters must be removed and cleaned separately with ammonia solution at the same concentration as above. 5. Any contamination on the outside of the spraying equipment should be washed off with clean water. When empty, rinse the container three times with a volume of water equal to at least one tenth of that of the container and add the rinsing to the contents of the spray tank. Destroy the container by puncturing and burying or burning it. Do not use the container for any other purpose. RESISTANCE WARNING: Hussar is member of the sulfonylurea group of herbicides. The mode of action of this group is primarily the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme and, as such it is classified by HRAC as a Group Code B herbicide. Certain naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Hussar and other ALS inhibiting herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by Hussar and are unlikely to be controlled by other herbicides which inhibit the ALS enzyme. Since the presence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to herbicide application, it is of the utmost importance that treated areas be inspected at regular intervals to identify the occurrence of herbicideresistant weeds timeously. Bayer (Pty) Ltd will not accept liability for performance failures in the event of a build-up of resistant weeds resulting from inadequate resistance management practices as indicated on the label. To delay the selection of resistant weeds: Integrate tillage or other mechanical control methods (including non-selective herbicides during the fallow period or prior to planting) into weed control programmes whenever practical. Avoid repeated use of the herbicides with the same mode of action. Alternate with products from different herbicide Group Codes. Always monitor the efficacy of the herbicide shortly after herbicide application. Maintain herbicide-use records for each of your fields. 7 Herbicide DIRECTIONS FOR USE : USE ONLY AS DIRECTED COMPATIBILITY Compatibility studies have been conducted in wheat and barley with Hussar in combination with each of ONE of the adjuvants and ONE of the remedies listed below (unless otherwise specified in this label): AS VARIATIONS MAY EXIST BETWEEN FORMULATIONS OF PRODUCTS CONTAINING THE SAME ACTIVE INGREDIENTS, THE TRADE NAMES AND REGISTRATION NUMBERS OF THE TESTED PRODUCTS ARE SHOWN. DO NOT MIX HUSSAR WITH ANY OTHER PRODUCTS. With Fungicides : Hussar is NOT COMPATIBLE with any fungicides on BARLEY. Mixtures with various fungicides tested caused yellowing and stunting on barley. Hussar is compatible with Folicur 250 EW (Reg. No. L3857), Punch Xtra (Reg. No. L4243) and Punch C (Reg. No. L3626) on wheat. With Insecticides : Hussar is compatible with Folimat 800 SL (Reg. No. L2316) and Metasystox R 250 EC (Reg. No. L5584) on both wheat and barley. With herbicides: Hussar is compatible with Buctril-DS (Reg. No. L3350), Bentrol Super (Reg. No. L5167), Brominal Super (Reg. No. L5168), Pardner Super (Reg. No. L7280) and Bayer MCPA (Reg. No. L1404), or mixtures of these products, on both wheat and barley. With adjuvants : Hussar is compatible with Ballista (Reg. No. L7442). MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Pre-mix the required amount of Hussar with a small amount of water and stir until thoroughly dispersed. Half fill the spray tank or pre-mix tank (in the case of aerial application) with clean water and add the concentrated pre-mixed Hussar to the tank through a sieve. If a mixture is required with a fungicide or an insecticide, add this after the Hussar while still agitating and topping up with water. Ensure that thorough agitation of the spray mixture is maintained at all times. Prepare only sufficient spray mixture for immediate use. Do not keep spray mixture for long periods, e.g., overnight. APPLICATION : Apply Hussar as a post-emergence spray of both crop and weeds as indicated. GROUND APPLICATION : Apply by means of a tractor mounted boom sprayer which is correctly calibrated to deliver at least spray mixture /ha at a constant speed and pressure resulting in an even and good cover. The efficacy of Hussar has been evaluated with certain sleeve boom sprayers. Acceptable control of weeds (as indicated) was achieved with these applications at water volumes of not less than 75 /ha. AERIAL APPLICATION : DO NOT COMMENCE AERIAL APPLICATION BEFORE CONSULTING YOUR HUSSAR REPRESENTATIVE. Aerial application may only be done by a registered aerial application operator using a correctly calibrated, registered aircraft according to the instructions of STANSA Code 0118 (Aerial Application of Agricultural Pesticides). It is important to ensure that the spray mixture is distributed evenly over the target area and that the loss of spray material during application is restricted to a minimum. It is therefore essential that the following criteria are met: Equipment: - Use suitable atomising equipment (hydraulic nozzles or rotary atomisers) that will produce the desired droplet size and coverage, but which will ensure the minimum loss of product through drift. - The operator must use a setup that will produce a droplet spectrum with the lowest possible relative span. - All nozzles / atomisers should be positioned within the inner 75 % of the wingspan to prevent droplets from entering the wingtip vortices. Application parameters: - A minimum volume of 30 spray mixture per hectare is recommended. As this product has not been evaluated at a reduced volume rate, the registration holder cannot guarantee efficacy, or be held responsible for any adverse effects if this product is applied aerially at a lower volume rate than recommended above. - A droplet coverage of droplets per cm² must be recovered at the target. - A droplet spectrum with a VMD of microns is recommended. Ensure that the production of fine droplets (smaller than 150 microns) is restricted to a minimum. - The height of the spray boom should be maintained at 3-4 metres above the target. Do not spray when aircraft is in a climb, at the top or during a dive, or when banking. - Apply before the crop becomes too dense, thus preventing proper coverage of the weeds Meteorological conditions: - The difference between the wet and dry bulb readings as determined by a whirling hygrometer, must not exceed 8 C. - Do not spray under turbulent, unstable conditions during the heat of the day when rising thermals and downdraughts occur. - Do not spray under temperature inversion conditions (spraying in or above the inversion layer). - Do not spray if the wind speed exceeds 15 km/h.

8 Herbicide General: - Ensure that fields are accurately marked and that the aerial spray operator knows exactly which fields to spray. - Obtain an assurance from the aerial spray operator that the above requirements will be met. Hussar is most effective under high humidity when growing conditions are favourable for both crop and weed growth. 2. Weeds should not be larger than as specified in the weed tables below. 3. A dense weed stand inhibits droplet penetration resulting in inadequate cover and, possibly, poor efficacy. 4. High weed populations tend to suppress the germination of ungerminated seeds, which tend to germinate after the target weeds have been controlled. 5. Hussar has a limited residual effect on germinating weeds. This is affected by factors such as weed species, soil ph and soil moisture. Weeds germinating after application will be poorly controlled. 6. Where a dense crop canopy has developed, penetration to the weeds is poor and poor control of weeds is a consequence particularly where application method is an aerial spray. Where doubt exists utilize ground sprays in which case more attention should be paid to increased droplet penetration. 7. Unsatisfactory or erratic weed control and/or weed regrowth may occur if Hussar is applied under one or more of the following conditions: Light sandy soils that tend to leach or become waterlogged Soils with a low ph (acid soils) Application later than four weeks after emergence of the weeds Application on weeds present before sowing but not killed by pre-sowing cultivation or non-selective herbicide applications Where weeds are concentrated in dense populations in wind-rows deposited by the combine If the crop density is low, negating the additive effect of crop competition on weed control. If the weeds are stressed at the time of application due to poor growing conditions such as: inadequate soil moisture (drought) extremely high weed populations heat stress, cold, saline or excessive moisture stress or where fields are waterlogged, insect or any other damage which will have a negative effect on uptake of the chemical Possible stress caused by an earlier application of any other agricultural remedy 8. Weeds can be expected to die within five weeks after spraying, with definite symptoms commencing 2-3 weeks after spraying. In line with resistance management strategies the Hussar user MUST EXAMINE THE RESULTS APPROXIMATELY THREE WEEKS AFTER SPRAYING. By this time it should be absolutely clear how successful weed control has been as dead and dying grass and broadleaf weeds will still be present. 9. It is not known whether or not Hussar stimulates the germination of Inula graveolens (Camphor inula / Cape khaki weed). 10. Volunteer cultivated oats (especially Sederberg) tends not to be well controlled by Hussar. B. CROP SAFETY 1. Temporary yellowing and slight stunting may occur in wheat and barley under normal growing conditions. These symptoms increase with overdosing, therefore, avoid overlapping swaths. To prevent overapplication, close nozzles when the tractor is stationary or moving more slowly than the speed at which it was calibrated.

If the crop is stressed at the time of application (e.g., inadequate soil moisture, cold, water-logged conditions, inadequate planting depth, or any other factor that prevents normal growth) and this situation continues after application, the symptoms described under Note B1 above may not disappear and yields may be negatively affected. 3. Barley planted late (after the end of May) may be more adversely affected by the herbicide due to limited growing time for recovery. 4. Barley plants stressed by the herbicide will be more susceptible to diseases (especially brown rust) and fungicide efficacy could also be adversely affected. C. OTHER CROPS 1. Do not apply Hussar to cereals undersown with legumes. Hussar can, however, be used in cereals within a short crop rotation system with medics. 2. Spray drift of Hussar onto any adjacent crop, other than wheat, barley or triticale, can result in severe damage to the non-target crop. Every effort must be made to prevent the drift of spray material onto adjacent crops. 3. RECROPPING AND CROP ROTATION : The following recropping intervals are valid only if Hussar is applied, ONCE per season, on soils with a ph of less than 7,0 (KCl) and average or above average rainfall occurs during the season and following the season in which the application was made. Canola, cultivated clovers or medics, lupins (bitter and sweet), lucerne, maize, wheat, barley, oats, rye, sorghum, soyas or triticale can be sown the season following a Hussar treatment (waiting period 9-10 months). For all other crops the replanting interval is unknown. Hussar applied on very sandy soils or soils with ph levels exceeding 7 (KCl) and/or soils containing free lime, may result in longer residual activity in respect of follow-up crops. D. SOIL, WATER & CLIMATE 1. Two (2) hours are required for uptake of the chemical before rain falls. 2. Use good quality water. Water with conductivity exceeding 1, 0 ms/cm³, or with a resistance of less than 300 ohm and/or ph higher than 8 should be avoided. 3. Do not use Hussar on soils containing free lime, as this may affect efficacy as well as the residual activity of Hussar, extending the replant period and limiting crop rotation options.
