15 Three Concepts Community Input Session WHAT WE HEARD Locate City council chamber adjacent to the large meeting room - flexibility City Council chamber should be visible not hidden Integrate the City council chamber in the Library sense of community Daylighting within the library is critical especially reading areas Liked the angled scheme but should be softened along the plaza The plaza should have a more natural feel, trees and green space Want to see spaces such as maker spaces and media labs Would like to see some taller open spaces inside the library Children s should be on 1 st floor with some adult collection Provide covered access along the south face of the library Provides spaces to support the current events and activities the library offers Provide safe access from parking garage Encourage as much pedestrian access around the through the site Plaza should be for people not vehicles Loved the idea of balconies and a Roof Garden The building should be modern but timeless Design Excellence Dolton Public Library Slide 15 of 79
