3 About the area Suffolk village of the year 2014 Whatfield is a pretty village with a popular county primary school and village Hall and was named Suffolk village of the year The village has a series of footpaths which will take you on a pleasant walk through meadows and woodland leading down the river Brett. The market town of Hadleigh can be found just 2 miles away and is only 10 miles from Ipswich, 15 miles from Colchester and approximately 70 miles from London.
