5 AIR CONDITIONER INSTALLATION The air conditioner is made of two units interconnected by a fexibe tube. The indoor unit must be paced in the room to be air conditioned, near a window, a bacony-door or a perimeter wa. The outdoor unit, that provides to the disposa of heat and condensation, must be ocated outside, on a window si, on a bacony or hanged to the wa. M6 x 20 POSITIONING OF OUTDOOR UNIT The outdoor unit must aways be kept in vertica position and eveed. Make sure that there are no obstaces around the unit affecting the free circuation of air. A ug at the rear bottom of the unit ensures the minimum distance from the wa (3 cm). The unit must be kept at a minimum distance of cm. 15 (sidewise) and cm. 80 (frontay) from any was. M6 x 20 Min. 25 cm. INSTALLATION TYPE A If your room has a bacony or a window-si of sufficient depth (min. 25 cm) you may rest the unit freey onto it. For safety s sake, you may anchor the unit to the window-si using one M6 x 20 expansion bot in the sot of the ug at the rear bottom of the unit. CAUTION Set vertica bades to the front position during COOLING/DRY operation if humidity is high. If the vertica bades are set to the eft-most or rightmost position, condensation wi form around the air outet and drip off. OPERATION WITHOUT THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT If you have ost the remote contro unit or it has troubes, foow the steps beow. 1. WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS STOPPED If you want to turn on the air conditioner push the OPERATION BUTTON to seect the COOL mode: The air conditioner wi start in HIGH fan speed. The temperature setting is 25 C. OUTDOOR UNIT (CASING AND CONDENSING COIL) Some meta edges and the condenser fins are sharp and may cause injury if handed impropery; specia care shoud be taken when you cean these parts. Periodicay check the outdoor unit to see if the air outet or air intake are cogged up with dirt or soot. The condenser and other components of the outdoor unit must be ceaned periodicay. Consut your DEALER or AFTER SALES SERVICE. INDOOR UNIT Do not pour water on the unit to cean it. This wi damage the interna components and cause an eectric shock hazard. Never use sovents, or chemica agents when ceaning the indoor unit. Do not wipe the pastic casing using very hot water. Casing and Grie Cean the casing and grie of the indoor unit with a vacuum ceaner brush, or wipe them with a cean, soft coth. If these parts are stained, use a cean coth moistened with a mid iquid detergent. When ceaning the grie, be carefu not to force the bades out of pace. 2. WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS RUNNING If you want to turn off the air conditioner push the OPERATION BUTTON unti the OPERATION amp is turned off. 10

11 AIR FILTER The air fiter must be cheked at east once every two weeks operation. Operation with a dirty fiter aways causes a ower efficency of the air conditioner and severe product damage. The fiter is ocated at the back of the intake grie in the front of the air-conditioner and sha be removed from the upper side of the unit. HOW TO REMOVE THE FILTER ACCESSORIES (SUPPLIED ON REQUEST) SUPPLEMENTARY SUPPORT GUIDE KIT FOR OUTDOOR UNIT If you want to utiise the air conditioner in severa rooms, it is possibe to buy varies support guides for the instaation of outdoor unit. 2 hoes ø min. FILTER CLEANING 200 SUPPORT GUIDE Use a vacuum ceaner to remove ight dust. If there is sticky dust on the fiter, wash the fiter in ukewarm, soapy water, rinse it in cean water, and dry it. TRANSPORT Preferaby keep the air conditioner in the vertica position during transportation. If this is not possibe, then ay it on one side; when at destination put the air conditioner back in the vertica position and wait at east 10 minutes before using it. STORAGE If you are not going to use the air-conditioner for a ong period, cean the air fiters, evacuate the condensate from the indoor unit through the drain hose at the unit back side. Do not disconnect the fexibe tube, uness you are obiged to do it: in that case protect the open haves of the coupings with the pugs suppied as accessories, that must be tightened with a spanner. Do not put heavy objects on the top of the unit, and protect it with a coth or a pastic bag. CONDENSATE DRAIN PIPE 11

12 TIPS FOR ENERGY SAVING DO NOT: Bock the air intake and outet of the unit. If they are obstructed, the unit wi not work we, and may be damaged. Let direct sunight into the room. Use sunshades, bind or curtain. DO: Aways try to keep the air fiter cean. A cogged fiter wi impair the performance of the unit. To prevent conditioned air from escaping, keep windows, doors and any other openings cosed. TROUBLESHOOTING The use of portabe teephones near the air-conditioner may cause disturbance to its norma operation and must be avoided. In case abnorma operation is noticed, (OPERATION amp ights but outdoor unit wi not run) to restore norma operation turn-off eectric suppy for 60 seconds at east, by disconnecting the main switch or the wa pug, then start again the air-conditioner. The binking OPERATION amp, together with the stop of the air conditioner for a short time are due to the exceeding condensate drainage. If the OPERATION amp goes on binking and the air conditioner definitey stops means that the condensate pump is not working or that the condensate drain pipe in the fexibe connection pipe is obstructed; in this case contact the AFTER SALE SERVICE. In case of emergency the air conditioner can work by draining the condensate from the back itte pipe into a rather short container: extract the itte pipe and remove the cap. If your air conditioner does not work propery, first check the foowing points before requesting service. If it sti does not work propery, contact your deaer or service center. AUTO-DIAGNOSIS Troube: the air conditioner does not run at a. Possibe cause: 1. Power faiure. 2. Leakage breaker tripped. 3. Line votage is too ow. 4. Operation button is OFF. 5. Batteries in remote contro unit have run down. Remedy: 1. Restore power. 2. Contact service center. 3. Consut your eectrician or deaer. 4. Press the button again. 5. Repace batteries. Troube: Compressor runs but soon stops. Possibe cause: 1. Obstruction in front of condenser coi. Remedy: 1. Remove obstruction. Troube: Poor cooing performance. Possibe cause: 1. Dirty or cogged air fiter. 2. Heat source or many peope in room. 3. Doors and/or windows are open. 4. Obstace near air intake or air discharge port. 5. Thermostat is set too high. Remedy: 1. Cean air fiter to improve airfow. 2. Eiminate heat source if possibe. 3. Shut them to keep the heat or cod out. 4. Remove it to ensure good airfow. 5. Set the temperature ower. Troube: Cicking sound is heard from the air conditioner. Possibe cause: 1. Any pastic parts may expand or shrink due to a sudden temperature change. In this event, a cicking sound may occur. Remedy: 1. This is norma, and the sound wi disappear when an even temperature is setted. The fixed OPERATION amp and the binking of TIMER and STANDBY amps, indicates that the operating mode seected ( ) is not compatibe with the unit. If this happen the air conditioner does not operate unti the correct mode is seected.
