2 Enronmental npact Aualyss 5 mpacts to the coastal sage scrub on ste hae been mnmzed to the maxmum extent by the redesgned project The orgnal project proposed to mpact 25 to 35 acres of CSS Howeer, these mpacts were n areas that were not contguous and ranged throughout the 90acre deelopment ste The redesgned project wll result n 43 acres of mpact, whch s 6 acres more than the orgnal project Howeer, n the 3 redesgned project all of the lots are contguous Ths results n larger contguous open space areas (lots 45,46,47 and 48) that surround the project These open space areas wll allow propagaton of the plant speces throughout the CSS communty Therefore, the redesgned project has been determned to hae less of an mpact to the CSS communty than the orgnal project Table 3 prodes nformaton regardng each tarplant populaton that wll be mpacted by the project The table also prodes a comparson of mpacts between the orgnal and current project desgns Approxmatons are utlzed as each nddual plant was not specfcally counted The approed orgnal project would mpact 7 populatons whereas the resed project would mpact 6 populatons Fgure 5 llustrates the locaton of the 23 populatons of Santa Susana tarplant on the orgnal project and Fgure 6 shows the locaton of the 23 populatons on the resed desgn Table 3 Santa Susana Tarplant Populatons and Project mpacts & :f m "!
