5 The team wrked with tw rural cmmunities in Victria Bridge and Magheramasn t enter the Pride f Place Awards. Victria Bridge were awarded a Pride f Place Award. In the 11 mnths t the end f February 2018, the Building Cntrl sectin received applicatins with a cnstructin value f mre than 166 millin. An increase f 24% in planning decisins issued, a 29% increase in apprved applicatins with an verall apprval rate f 96.2%. Lcal Develpment Plan (LDP) the LDP Preferred Papers Optin (POP) was published in May 2017 fllwed by a cnsultatin perid frm June t August Apprved and issued the highest number f Majr residential develpments in Nrthern Ireland, 6 s far in the first tw quarters f this year 2017/18 and 9 which was the highest in NI fr last year, culminating t a ttal f 1078 dwelling units, 835 Scial and 243 Private. Many f these are als accmpanied by legal planning agreements securing cmprehensive develpment and facilitating assciated infrastructure and pen space in rder t deliver sustainable cmmunities. The EU Imprve pilt prject cntinues successfully t ffer enhanced engagement pprtunities fr stakehlders, statutry cnsultees and wider public t input int the LDP and expanded /integrated the prgram this year int Develpment Management functin. The Best Place in Nrthern Ireland Award was received frm Ryal Twn Planning Institute fr Derry/Lndnderry fr histric cre Peace Bridge and Ebringtn.

Prtecting and enhancing the built envirnment f Strabane Twn centre by the technical design f a 4m high quality, flexible public realm scheme t tender stage. Prtecting and enhancing the natural envirnment f ur parks and green spaces by the cmpleting the cnstructin f three high quality district play parks at Ballymagraty, Kilfennan & Drumahe, Derry, with a cst f apprximately 3m. Create integrated, sustainable and accessible transprt infrastructure and prmte mdal shift with the cmmencement f the cnstructin f the 500k extensin f the Waterside greenway frm Ebringtn t the new 27m Nrth West Multimdal Hub in Derry. Develp the technical design f three new crss-brder greenways between Derry-Buncrana, Derry-Muff & Strabane-Liffrd, ttalling 46km in length and csting 18m.
