1 Eligibility All members f the Wiscnsin Chapter f The American Sciety f Landscape Architects (ASLA) are eligible t submit entries fr landscape architecture prjects lcated in r ut f the State f Wiscnsin. Nn-Wiscnsin ASLA members and nn-asla members wh have perfrmed a primary rle in a prject lcated in the State f Wiscnsin may als submit an entry. All applicants must have primary invlvement in their entry and must clearly describe their rle in the prject. Awards and Jury Entries may be awarded within the three levels listed belw: Award f Excellence ne pssible award selected frm all entries Hnr Award ne pssible award per categry Merit Award as many as the jury finds exemplary The jury will be cmprised f landscape architects frm a partnering chapter f ASLA. Entry Fees Fr each prject submitted by ASLA members and assciates: $100 per submittal (member price) $250 per submittal (nn-member price) Payment can be made nline at r by check (check is preferred if pssible) Make checks payable t: Wiscnsin Chapter f the American Sciety f Landscape Architects (WI ASLA) Deadline All entries must be received by 5:00 PM n Friday, January 11 th, Questins Questins regarding entries shuld be directed t Alexander Thill awards@wiasla.cm Award Winning Entries The award winners will be ntified several weeks prir t the awards ceremny. The Chapter requests that at least ne member frm each winning entry be present t receive the award and give a brief (five-minute r less) explanatin f the prject. Each winning entry will receive tw cmplimentary tickets t the WI ASLA Spring Cnference Awards Receptin. 1 f 6

2 Entry Categries Categry 1 General Design (Categries A & B) The General Design categry recgnizes site-specific wrks f landscape architectural design. Typical entries in this categry can include: public pen space, envirnmental, cmmercial, institutinal r private landscapes, histric preservatin, reclamatin, cnservatin, design fr transprtatin r infrastructure, landscape art, interir landscape design, green rfs, etc. Fr large incremental prjects, at least the first stage must be cmpleted t be eligible fr an award. Design entries shuld exhibit a relatinship t planning and a framewrk larger than the immediate site. Please indicate yur prject categry n the entry frm: Categry A - Cnstructin Budget Under $500,000 Categry B - Cnstructin Budget Abve $500,000 Quality f design Functinalism Relatinship t cntext and envirnmental respnsibility Relevance t the prfessin, the public, and the envirnment Categry 2: Residential Design The Residential Design categry recgnizes residential site-specific wrks f landscape architectural design. Prjects can include single r multi-family residential prjects, activity areas, indigenus and native landscapes, new cnstructin r renvatin prjects, histric preservatin, affrdable landscape cncepts, small site develpment, private gardens, r rftp gardens. Fr large incremental prjects, at least the first stage must be cmpleted t be eligible fr an award. 3 Categry 3: Un-Built Wrks (Design) The Un-Built Wrks categry recgnizes site-specifi c prjects which have been designed but are unlikely t prgress int cnstructin. Prjects can include cnceptual site plans, site studies, site design cmpetitin submittals, etc. Prjects submitted in this categry are nt eligible fr future WI ASLA prfessinal award submissins. Quality f design Functinalism Relatinship t cntext Envirnmental respnsibility Relevance t the prfessin, the public and the envirnment Categry 4: Analysis & Planning Typical entries in this categry can include: general develpment, gvernment plicies r prgrams, legislatin r regulatins, landscape analysis, natural and visual resurce inventries, natural resurce prtectin, r cnservatin. 4 Categry 5: Research This categry recgnizes schlarly research that examines a prblem using accepted methds and arriving at supprted and riginal findings r slutins f value t the prfessin. A paper cpy f the dcument may be submitted if a digital versin is nt available. Quality f presentatin Significance t the prfessin Categry 6: Cmmunicatin This categry recgnizes design achievements in cmmunicating landscape architectural infrmatin, technlgy, thery, r practice t thse within r utside the prfessin. This categry includes published r written dcuments, exhibits r vide presentatins. A paper cpy f the dcument may be submitted if a digital versin is nt available. A five-minute maximum DVD presentatin f the prject may als be submitted. Quality f cntent and presentatin Usefulness t the intended reader r viewer Significance t the prfessin 4 f 6
