Remve the Washable Filter (9) and Filter Hlder (10) frm the Jug. 3 Fill the Water Tank (3) with the required amunt f water. D nt fill abve the max line. 4 Place the cffee grinds in the Washable Filter (9). Use 1 spn (19) r 7g f cffee per cup. Place the Washable Filter back int the Filter Hlder (10). 5 Place the Filter Hlder int the Jug. Ensure the Water Hle (11) is crrectly aligned with the Water Nzzle (12), therwise the Cascata will nt perate crrectly Place the Jug nt the Base Unit (5) and replace the Lid (8), twist t lck. Ensure the Lid is securely fitted befre perating. 7 Attach t a mains supply, the Cascata will beep twice. Press the On/Off Buttn (17). The On/Off and Temperature Buttn (16) will illuminate Use the Strength Selectr (14) t select the desired strength f the cffee. Then select the desired water temperature (15),(16). The selected buttn will illuminate. Press the On/Off / Start Buttn (17) t begin brewing cffee. When cmpleted, the On/Off / Start Buttn will illuminate red, yur Cascata will beep and switch t the keep warm mde. 3

4 47140 rev4_layut 1 18/10/ :47 Page 4 Befre first use Fill the Water Tank (3) with water t the MAX mark, and place nt the Base Unit. Ensure the Water Hle (11) is crrectly aligned with the Water Nzzle (12), therwise the Cascata will nt perate crrectly. The Cascata will beep twice when plugged int the mains. Press the On/Off / Start Buttn (17), set the Strength Selectr (14) t maximum, then press the Temperature Buttn (16). Press the On/Off / Start Buttn (17) t activate the brewing prcess and wait fr the water t heat up and flush thrugh the system. The On/Off / Start Buttn will illuminate red when the brewing prcess has been cmpleted, dispse f the biled water. Keep warm Yur Cascata Filter Cffee Maker features a keep warm setting which will keep yur cffee warm fr 1 hur after brewing is cmplete. The keep warm setting will wrk nly when the Jug is sat n the Base Unit. The keep warm setting has a default temperature f 85. T adjust the keep warm temperature t press the Temperature Buttn (16). T switch the keep warm setting ff, press the On/Off Start Buttn (17). Cleaning yur Cascata IMPORTANT: Never wash yur Cascata Filter Cffee Maker in a dishwasher. In rder t reduce staining, we recmmend that yur Cascata Filter Cffee Maker is cleaned after every use. Thrughly wash the Jug and all f its brewing cmpnents with warm water. D nt immerse the jug int the water. T remve any stubbrn stains frm yur Cascata Filter Cffee Maker we recmmend that yu use a sterilising fluid, (fund in the baby aisle f supermarkets and pharmacies.) 1 Add 7ml f sterilising fluid t the unit and fill t the tp f Water Tank with warm water and leave fr 30 minutes, using a plastic kitchen brush t gently agitate the stained areas if required. 2 When using the plastic kitchen brush care must be taken arund the vent dme n the element t prevent disldging/damage. 3 Fr stubbrn stains it may be necessary t repeat this prcess 2 t 3 times. 4 Once cmplete, rinse the unit thrughly with warm water and then run the brewing cycle with clean water nly & repeat 2-3 times. If there is any residual taste frm the cleaning prduct repeat the rinsing prcess again. Fr general cleaning wipe uter surfaces with a sft damp clth, care must be taken when cleaning t ensure n electrical cnnectins make cntact with water. D nt immerse in water. Descaling IMPORTANT: As this appliance is fitted with a cncealed element it must be descaled regularly. The frequency f descaling depends n usage and the hardness f the water in yur area. Excessive scale can cause the appliance t switch ff befre biling r reaching temperature and may damage the element invalidating the warranty. It is essential that regular descaling takes place. Remve hard scale using a prprietary descaling prduct suitable fr stainless steel, glass r plastic. Alternatively use citric acid crystals (available frm mst pharmacies) as fllws: 1 Fill the appliance 3/4 full, bil, then remve the Jug frm the base unit and stand it in an empty sink r bwl. 2 Gradually add 50gm f citric acid crystals t the water, then leave the Cascata Filter Cffee Maker t stand. D nt use a mre cncentrated slutin. 3 As sn as the effervescence subsides, empty the appliance and rinse it thrughly with cld water. 4 Wipe the utside f the appliance thrughly with a damp clth t remve all traces f acid which may damage the finish. IMPORTANT: Ensure that the electrical cnnectins are cmpletely dry befre using the appliance. 5 Fill the Jug with water and run a brewing cycle with an empty Filter Hlder. Discard the water after the brewing prcess has cmpleted. 4
