6 APPLICATIONS FOR FLOOR MACHINE 175RPM WARNING The 175 RPM flr machine will perate in a wide variety f applicatins and can be used fr spray buffing, dry buffing, scrubbing and stripping applicatins. These heavy duty flr machines are specially recmmended fr lng term aggressive scrubbing and stripping maintenance. The heavy duty flr machines are specially recmmended fr the fllwing applicatin Scraping with an attachment tl t remve heavy industrial depsits and residue r t prepare a fundatin fr installatin r carpet Wire brushing r cncrete flrs Sanding with very aggressive sandpaper r sand scree discs Carpet restratin where shamping & pile lifting require very stiff brush bristles. The 175 RPM flr machine is the mst versatile speed in the flr care industry. APPLICATIONS OF 175 RPM STANDARD SPEED FLOOR MACHINE ON HARD FLOORS Spray buffing the red spray buff pad and spray buff chemical. Dry buffing a buffable finish with a tan, beige, r white pad r brush. Scrubbing with free r blue pad r scrubbing brush. Stripping with a black pad and a stripping chemical. APPLICATIONS OF 175 RPM STANDARD SPEED FLOOR MACHINE ON CARPET T prevent injury, always remve the electrical plug frm the electrical utlet befre changing the plishing pad and befre leaving the machine. PREPARE THE MACHINE FOR OPERATION T attach the drive blck r brush r ther attachment, be sure the handle is lcked in the upright psitin (see figure #1). Lay the flr machine n its back with the handle lying n the flr, this expses the driving plate n the underside f the flr machine. Hlding the drive blck, brush r attachment in bth hands and straddling the mtr with yur back t the handle bx. Bend ver and fit the three slts t the clutch plate (built int the back f the brush) ver the three lugs f the driving plate. Turn the drive blc, brush, r ther attachment cunter-clckwise as far as it will g until it is seated in the ready-t-use psitin (see figure #2). CAUTION: This is the nly prper way t install a drive blck, brush, r ther attachment. NEVER put a drive blck, brush r attachment n the machine by placing it n the flr and mving the running machine ver it, r by placing the machine ver the blck r attachment and then starting the mtr. Return the flr machine t the upright psitin and adjust the handle t an perating psitin. Recmmended handle psitin is clse the waist with arms extended dwn. Lck the cam release lever int psitin. NOTE: The hardened steel cam release lever des nt require extreme tightening t effectively hld the handle in psitin. Over-tightening the can release lever will shrten the functinal life f the lever. T remve drive blck, brush r attachment: Lay the flr machine n its back again and disengage clutch plate slt frm driving plate lugs by turning it clckwise. Bnnet cleaning with a yarn bnnet and carpet maintainer chemical. Shamping using a shwer feed shamp brush and slutin tank munted t the handle tube cntaining carpet shamp. Figure #1 Figure #2 6

7 HOW TO OPERATE THE MACHINE First, install the pad driver and pad, brush, r ther attachment t be used. Plug the machine in as directed and lwer the handle t the desired perating height and lck in place using the cam lever handle. Push the safety switch frward (see figure #3) and squeeze the switch triggers beneath the handle grips. This activates the mtr and stars the blck, brush r attachment in peratin. Each time yur release the triggers the safety switch will reset. Yu will need t fllw the directin abve t restart the machine. CAUTION: When leaving the machine unattended, discnnect the wall plug and return the handle t the lcked upright psitin t prevent accidental starting. Safety Switch TO INSTALL THE OPTIONAL SOLUTION TANK Munt the slutin tank t the frnt f the handle and attach with munting brackets and knbs. Psitin the slutin tank cntrl handle hrizntally and belw the switch lever f the machine and adjacent t the right handle grip. Remve the plug frm the mtr husing and insert the (lng) extensin tube adaptr and secure at bttm f machine with the retainer. The slutin tank shuld be used nly with a shwer feed drive blck r bush. TRANSPORTING THE MACHINE Place the handle in the upright psitin. Lck the handle can release lever. Tip the machine back and transprt n the wheels. Switch trigger Figure #3 TO GUIDE YOUR FLOOR MACHINE T the Right: raise the handle slightly. The higher the handle is lifted, the faster the machine will mve t the right. T the Left: lwer the handle until the machine mves t the left. The mre the handle is lwered the faster the machine will mve t the left. 7

8 MAINTENANCE Once a mnth remve the mtr cver and vacuum ut any dust r debris which has accumulated n the mtr. Replace the mtr cver by setting it vert the hles in the husing and replace all f the screws. Check and maintain the tightness f all the fasteners. WARNING: D nt ver-tighten the switch husing screws. Keep the machine clean especially at the handle tube and cllar s the handle tube will mve freely thrugh the cllar. Inspect the crd fr cuts, gashes, r lse prngs; replace as needed. Disassembly f this mtr vids the warranty. Imprper disassembly and assembly f this mtr can permanently damage the field r rtr. TROUBLESHOOTING Prblem Pssible Cause Machine will nt start Circuit breaker has tripped (Allw the circuit breaker 2 minutes t cl befre resetting). Circuit breaker will nt reset. Replace. Switch is defective. Replace. Crd is damaged. Replace. Machine will nt reach perating speed Mtr runs but pad r brush des nt turn Plug is brken r has a lse cntact. Replace. Over drawn circuit.
