Munting the lcatewater sensr Intrductin Water can enter a building in many different ways and, in sme cases, remain undetected. This can cause damage and prblems t sensitive electrnic equipment. Cmputer and mainframe rms which have a false flr and ceilings culd harbr undetected water, which is nly detected after a prblem ccurs.

2 Water Detectr The lcatewater sensr is capable f detecting the presence f water at a specific lcatin. It cntains a micrprcessr cntrlled capacitance measuring circuit which is far mre precise than cmmercially available standard water detectrs which measure the resistance f water. The detectr prvides feedback t the web based interface which will indicate the presence f water at a specific lcatin n the rpe with a Nrmal/Alert, r Critical indicatin. The unit will retain any errr cnditin until it is read via a snmpget. Therefre, if it encunters a critical cnditin at any time, it will reprt that cnditin befre it returns t a nrmal state. Next yu need t lgin as the administratr using yur administratr passwrd (default is public ). Yu will then be taken t the summary page. c) Frm the summary page yu need t select the sensrs tab. The layut f the next page will vary depending n yur unit s please refer t yur unit s manual. d) Yu shuld nw be able t setup the threshlds fr yur sensr. The lw critical, lw warnings, nrmal, high warnings, high critical values can be set frm this page. Nw we will cver the settings that are specific t yur sensr. Status: If the sensr is ffline, the status is N Status. If the sensr is nline, and there is n water detected, the status is Nrmal. If water is detected, then the status is Critical. If at any time cmmunicatins with the lcatewater sensr are lst, the status f the lcatewater sensr is changed t Sensr Errr

6 Water Detectr When installing r handling yur new rpe sensr, please be sure t handle the rpe prtin f the sensr with care, aviding any twisting, excessive bending r putting stress n the rpe, as the internal sensing wires are very delicate and can becme damaged quite easily
