3 1. INTRODUCTION AND SAFETY WARNINGS Cngratulatins n yur investment in Bellini, quality stainless steel gas htplates. Please carefully read the fllwing installatin and perating instructins t ensure yu get the safest peratin frm this appliance. These instructins apply nly t the mdels CGH9501 and BG905X 5 burner mdels and the CGH6401 and BG604X 4 burner mdels, fr use with Natural Gas r Universal LPG. NOTE: Refer t gas type label and data plate label t ensure appliance is setup fr the crrect gas type. If in dubt, refer t gas supplier. WARNINGS: D nt use r stre flammable materials in the appliance strage drawer r near this appliance. D nt spray aersls in the vicinity f this appliance while it is in peratin. D nt mdify this appliance. Fr Universal LPG appliance:- Where this appliance is installed in marine craft r caravans, it shall nt be used as a space heater. Discnnect electricity supply t the appliance befre any servicing wrk is cnducted. This appliance is nt intended fr use by persns (including children) with reduced physical, sensry r mental capabilities, r lack f experience and knwledge, unless they have been given supervisin r instructin cncerning use f the appliance by a persn respnsible fr their safety. Children shuld be supervised t ensure that they d nt play with the appliance. The appliance electrical supply must allw fr discnnectin after the installatin f the appliance. Crd type Y If the supply crd is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent r similarly qualified persns in rder t avid a hazard. 4 2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS LIGHTING THE BURNER The htplates are fitted with mains pwered electrnic spark ignitrs, s must be cnnected t mains pwer supply (i.e. nminal 230 V ac) t perate. If pwer is nt available, the htplate will still wrk but the burners will have t be lit with a match r similar. Depressing the gas cntrl knb f any burner will activate the spark ignitin fr all burners. T light the burner, turn the gas cntrl knb t the High Flame setting f the burner t be lit, while at the same time depressing the gas cntrl knb t activate the spark ignitin. Once the burner is alight cntinue t depress the gas cntrl knb fr 5 10 secnds t allw the flame safeguard t activate. If when yu release the gas cntrl knb, the burner flame ges ut the flame safeguard has nt heated up enugh s repeat the ignitin prcedure after waiting 1 minute fr gas t disperse. If prblems with burner lighting persist, refer t the TROUBLESHOOTING sectin f these instructins. If pwer is nt available, light a match r similar, then turn the gas cntrl knb fr the burner t be lit, t the High Flame setting. Once again if prblems with burner lighting persist, refer t the TROUBLESHOOTING sectin f these instructins. When burner lights, adjust desired flame height. On finishing, turn cntrl knb t ff psitin marked with a black DOT. BURNER AND UTENSIL CHOICE Depending n the htplate mdel, the burner chices are: Mdel CGH6401: Auxiliary (small), Semi-Rapid (medium), and Rapid (large) burners. Mdels CGH9501 and BG905X: Auxiliary (small), Semi-Rapid (medium), Rapid (large), and Triple ring (wk) burners. Mdel BG604X: Auxiliary (small), Semi-Rapid (medium), and Triple ring (wk) burners. The maximum utensil (pan) diameters in millimetres (mm) fr each burner are: 1. Fr Natural Gas htplates Auxiliary (small) and Semi-Rapid (medium) = 195 mm Rapid (large) = 230 mm Triple ring (wk) = 270 mm 2. Fr Universal LPG htplates Auxiliary (small), Semi-Rapid (medium) and Rapid (large) = 195 mm Triple ring (wk) = 230 mm The minimum utensil (pan) diameters in millimetres (mm) fr each burner are: Auxiliary (small) = 80 mm and Semi-Rapid (medium) = 140 mm Rapid (large) and Triple ring (wk) = 195 mm Fr best efficiency and t ensure utensil handle des nt verheat, place the utensil centrally n the burner and adjust the flame height s all the flame remains under the utensil. 5 3. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS GENERAL Cleaning and maintenance shuld be carried ut with the appliance cld especially when cleaning the enameled parts. Avid leaving alkaline r acid substances(lemn juice, vinegar etc.) n the surfaces. STAINLESS STEEL The stainless steel hb f the htplate must be cleaned regularly (e.g. weekly) t ensure lng life expectancy f the htplate. Ensure htplate has cled. Wash dwn with warm sapy water and rinse with clean water. Dry with a clean sft clth. A specialized stainless steel cleaning fluid may be used. NOTE: Ensure that wiping is dne alng with the grain f the stainless steel t prevent any unsightly crisscrss scratching patterns frm appearing. TRIVETS (UTENSIL SUPPORTS) Enameled parts must nly be washed with a spnge and sapy water r with nn-abrasive prducts. Rinse with clean water. Dry with a clean sft clth. BURNERS Remve trivets frm hb. Ensure burners are cl. Remve the burners enameled cap (C) and aluminium burner crwn (F). Wash dwn with warm sapy water and rinse with clean water. Dry with a clean sft clth. Replace burners and ensure they are crrectly repsitined ver the ignitr (S) and thermcuple (T). The ignitr (S) must be clean fr truble free sparking. Test burner ignitin and burner flame fr crrect peratin. The Triple Ring (Wk) burner (diagrams belw) des nt fit ver the ignitr r thermcuple but must be placed n its supprts. If burner is placed crrectly it will nt rtate n its supprts. Refer t diagrams belw. Rev:

6 4. TROUBLESHOOTING Servicing f the htplates must nly be dne by an authrised service representative (see back f this bklet) and the htplate must nt be mdified. Pwer must be discnnected befre any servicing r maintenance is cnducted. Abnrmal cnditins include : Excessively yellw r sting flame type. : Flame lifting ff the burner prts. : Flame lighting back int the burner (nrmally assciated with a ppping sund). : Objectinable dur f the flames cmbustin prducts. Shuld a faulty cnditin develp in the htplate that is nt described abve, refer t the fllwing table first fr pssible causes and remedies prir t cntacting an authrised service representative. 7 5. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT NOTE: Refer t the Warnings in Sectin 1 f these Instructins. This htplate must be installed in accrdance with: AS Gas Installatins (fr Australia) NZS 5261 Cde f Practice fr the Installatin f Gas Burning Appliances and Equipment (fr New Zealand) Lcal gas fitting regulatins AS/NZS 3000 Electrical Installatins (Wiring Rules) Building cdes Any ther relevant statutry regulatins. Check the gas type label n the underside f the htplate, adjacent t the gas cnnectin t ensure it crrespnds t the installatin gas supply. If in dubt cntact the supply authrity. NOTE: Befre cutting int any bench tps, ensure the minimum clearances t walls, adjacent surfaces and verhead surfaces required by the relevant gas appliance installatin cde (see abve) will cmply. Dimensins are specified in millimetres (mm) MINIMUM CLEARANCES: Overhead cupbards and range hd = 600 mm. Side and rear clearance = 200 mm t any burner edge. Overhead exhaust/ceiling fan = 750 mm Hrizntal surfaces adjacent the hb = less than r equal t the hb height. Ensure there is sufficient clearance t fit the regulatr and/r flexible hse cnnectin with the htplate in the installed psitin. GAS and ELECTRICAL CONNECTION LOCATIONS and OVERALL DIMENSIONS: Mdel CGH6401: Bench cutut size, 555 mm wide x 473 mm deep. Bench tp thickness, mm (3 4 cm). Rev:

9 Mdel BG905X: Bench cutut size, 830 mm wide x 472 mm deep. Bench tp thickness, mm (3 4 cm). Once satisfied that minimum clearances t cmbustible can be achieved, cut ut the bench tp t the dimensins specified. Apply the adhesive sealing tape t the underside lip f the burner bx. Shwn at G ppsite. Place burner bx int cutut hle and fit clamping brackets t clamp the htplate t the bench. See tw clamping methd diagrams belw: Rev:

10 Then a particle bard r similar heat baffle must be installed under the hb t prevent accidental tuching f the underside surface. Leave sufficient rear clearance t access gas and electrical cnnectins. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: Install a 10 amp general purpse utlet (GPO) in accrdance with relevant electrical standards and/r cdes f practice applicable. The pwer supply crd (supplied) must nt tuch against any ht surfaces and must be placed s that its temperature des nt exceed 75 C at any pint alng its length. After having installed the htplate, the GPO must always be in an accessible psitin. GAS CONNECTION: Install in accrdance with relevant gas standards and/r cdes f practice applicable. Cnnect the elbw fitting t the appliance gas manifld cnnectin. Fr Natural gas: cnnect the natural gas appliance regulatr (pictured ppsite) with integral test pint using apprved gas thread tape r cmpund t the elbw fitting. Fr Universal LPG: cnnect the brass test pint adaptr (pictured ppsite) using apprved gas thread tape r cmpund t the elbw fitting. Natural Gas Regulatr Ensure the supply cnnectin pint, test pint and natural gas regulatr adjustment screw (fr Natural gas installatin) are accessible fr testing and/r adjustment with the htplate in the installed psitin. Where a flexible hse assembly is used, ensure it is apprved t AS/NZS 1869, Class B. Any hse assembly used must be restrained frm accidental cntact with the flue utlet f an under bench ven. Brass test pint adaptr After cnnecting t gas, check fr leaks using sapy slutin, never a naked flame. Fit the duplicate data plate (supplied in separate bag) n a surface adjacent t the htplate, fr example, the inside f the cupbard dr s it is clearly visible fr any service technician. SETTING THE GAS PRESSURE: Fit a manmeter with a 6 mm rubber hse t the test pint n the regulatr (fr natural gas). Fr the Mdel CGH6401, light ne Rapid and Auxiliary burner and adjust test pint pressure t 1.00 kpa. Turn the tw burners ff and n again and recheck the pressure is same as set previusly r adjust as required. Rev:

11 Fr the Mdels CGH9501, BG604X and BG905X, light the Triple Ring and Auxiliary burner and adjust test pint pressure t 1.00 kpa. Turn the tw burners ff and n again and recheck the pressure is same as set previusly r adjust as required. TEST FOR CORRECT OPERATION: After installatin and test pint setting, each burner ignitin and peratin must be tested individually and with all burners perating. This testing must be dne by the installer befre leaving. ADJUSTING THE BURNER MINIMUM FLAME HEIGHT: NOTE: This adjustment can nly be perfrmed by authrised service persnnel. The minimum burner flame is factry adjusted fr the gas type stated n the gas type label adjacent t the gas cnnectin and shuld nt require adjustment. Adjustment may be required if the htplate has been cnverted frm Natural gas t Universal LPG r vice versa. GAS CONVERSION INSTRUCTIONS: The manufacturers servicing instructins detail hw authrised persnnel may cnvert the htplate frm Natural gas t Universal LPG r frm Universal LPG t Natural gas. The benefits t any Cnsumer under this warranty are in additin t the rights and remedies available under any Cnsumer Guarantees. 1.3 Subject t the ther clauses f this warranty, the Cmpany warrants t the Cnsumer that the Bellini prduct will be free f manufacturing defects and will perfrm t the Cmpany s specificatins. 1.4 The benefit f this warranty extends nly t the Cnsumer as riginal purchaser f a Bellini prduct which is installed in a residential prperty. 1.5 This warranty cmmences n the date f purchase f the Bellini prduct by the Cnsumer and cntinues fr the benefit nly f the Cnsumer until the expiry f tw (2) years (Warranty Perid). 1.6 If within the Warranty Perid a manufacturing defect is discvered in the Bellini prduct r it fails t perfrm t the Cmpany s specificatins as a result f sme defect in materials, cmpnents r wrkmanship (Defect) then the Cmpany will, at its ptin, repair the Bellini prduct r supply a replacement Bellini prduct free f charge. A replacement Bellini prduct may differ frm the riginal prduct purchased by the Cnsumer. 1.7 This warranty will nt apply t any Bellini prduct: Installed by any persn ther than a qualified tradespersn; r Subjected t misuse, neglect, negligence r accidental damage; r Operated in any way cntrary t any perating r maintenance instructins; r Imprperly handled, installed r maintained; r Altered r mdified prir t r after installatin; r Damaged directly r indirectly by pwer surges, electrical strm damage r cnnectin t incrrect pwer supply The Australian Cnsumer Law requires the inclusin f the fllwing statement with this warranty: Our gds cme with guaranteed that cannt be excluded under the Australian Cnsumer Law.
