If the air cnditiner is t be installed in a windw, yu will prbably want t clean bth sides f the glass first, tf the windw is a triple-track type with a screen panel included, remve the screen cmpletely befre installatin. Be sure the air cnditiner has been securely and crrectly installed accrding t the separate installatin instructins prvided with this manual. Save this manual and the installatin instructins fr pssible future use in remving r reinstalling this unit. When handling the air cnditiner, be careful t avid cuts frm sharp metal fins n frnt and rear cils. Pwer supply crd with 3-prng grunding plug and current detectin device Electrical Infrmatin The cmplete electrical rating f yur new rm air cnditiner is stated n the serial plate. Refer t the rating when checking the electrical requirements., Be sure the air cnditiner is prperly grunded. T minimize shck and fire hazards, prper grunding is imprtant. The pwer crd is equipped with a three-prng grunding plug fr prtectin against shck hazards. Yur air cnditiner must be used in a prperly grunded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle yu intend t use is nt adequately grunded r prtected by a time delay fuse r circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the prper receptacle. Operatin f Current Device Plug press in & RESET The pwer supply crd cntains a current device that senses damage t the pwer crd. T test yur pwer supply crd d the flwing: 1. Plug in the ir Cnditiner. 2. The pwer supply crd will have TWO buttns n the plug head. Press the TEST buttn. Yu will ntice a click as the RESET buttn pps ut. 3. Press the RESET buttn. gain yu will ntice a click as the buttn engages. 4. The pwer supply crd is nw supplying electricity t the unit. (On sme prducts this is als indicated by a light n the plug head). 2, D nt use this device t turn the unit n r ff. lways make sure the RESETbuttn is pushed in fr crrect peratin. The pwer supply crd must be replaced if it fails t reset when either the TEST buttn is pushed, r it cannt be reset. new ne can be btained frm the prduct manufacturer., If pwer supply crd is damaged, it CNNOT be repaired. 4 ir Cnditiner Features ELECTRONICCONTROL Befre yu begin, thrughly familiarize yurself with the cntrl panel and remte as shwn bew and all its functins, then flw the symbl fr the functins yu desire. The unit can be cntrlled by the tuch pad ane r with the remte. This temperature will be matically maintained anywhere between 60 F (16 C) and 90 F (32 C). If yu want the display t read the actual rm temperature. See "T Operate n Fan Only" sectin n Page 6. Fr example, if the rm desn't get t warm, it will stay at the swest speed. If the rm temperature rises quickly, such as a dr being ed, it will matically g t the highest speed. The fan speeds will re-adjust back t the swest speed as the rm returns t the riginal set temperature. (Remember t the vent during this functin, but keep it csed during ing fr maximum ing efficiency.) Yu can chse any fan speed yu prefer. (Except "ut Fan"). During this functin, the display will shw the actual rm temperature, nt the set temperature as in the ing mde. TO USE THE ENERGY SER FETURE; SEE: energysaver fan nly [] energy saver [] fan nly " \ \ DO THIS: PRESS MODE BUTTON CHOOSE ENERGY SER Nte: In this mde, the fan will cntinue t run fr 1 minute after the cmpressr shuts ff. The fan then cycles n fr 20 secnds at 10 minute intervals until the rm temperature is abve the set temperature, at which time the cmpressr turns back n. SLEEP FETURE; SEE: energysaver [] -fannly energysaver [] [] -fan nly Nte: In this mde the selected temperature will increase by 2 F 30 minutes after the mde is selected. The temperature will then increase by anther 2 F after an additinal 30 minutes. This new temperature will be maintained fr 7 hurs befre it returns t the riginally selected temperature. This ends the "Sleep" mde and the unit will cntinue t perate as riginally prgrammed. Nte: Fr Delay Start, the unit must be in the Off psitin. First, Press TIMER buttn, then adjust timer setting, tap r hld the UP arrw () r the DOWN arrw ( ) t change delay timer at 0.5 hur increments, up t 10 hurs, then at 1 hur increments up t 24 hurs. The cntrl will cunt dwn the time remaining until start (8, 7.5, 7, etc.). The Delay Start Operatin matically selects ing with maximum Fan speed (if Cl, Energy Saver, r Fan Only was the last mde selected). The temperature maintained will be the same as previusly set. T change the set temperature, press "COOL" then Up r Dwn arrws until the desired temperature is indicated n the display. fter 5 secnds, the cntrl will matically change the display back t the hurs remaining until the unit will start/stp. Pressing the unit On/Off buttn at any time will cancel the Delay Start/Stp functin. The Delay Start/Stp Feature will wrk until the unit either starts r stps. Once that happens the abve steps have t be repeated again. The CLOSED psitin is used when maximum ing is desired. It may als be used fr air recirculatin withut ing when the air cnditiner is set in any FN psitin. Be sure t unplug the unit befre cleaning t prevent shck r fire hazards, ir Filter Cleaning The air filter shuld be checked at least nce a mnth t see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulatin f frst n the ing cils. Grasp the filter by the center and pull up and ut. Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter thrughly. Gently shake excess water frm the filter. Be sure filter is thrughly dry befre replacing Or instead f washing, yu may vacuum the filter clean. Cabinet Cleaning Be sure t unplug the air cnditiner t prevent shck r fire hazard. The cabinet and frnt may be dusted with an il-free cth r washed with a cth dampened in a slutin f warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thrughly and wipe dry. Never use harsh cleaners, wax r plish n the cabinet frnt. Be sure t wring excess water frm the cth befre wiping arund the cntrls. Excess water in r arund the cntrls may cause damage t the air cnditiner. Plug in air cnditiner. Winter Strage If yu plan t stre the air cnditiner during the winter, remve it carefully frm the windw accrding t the installatin instructins. Cver it with plastic r return it t the riginal cartn. NOTE:T prevent rust r electrical cnnectins frm being damaged, stre air cnditiner in an upright psitin and a dry place. Install the rm air cnditiner n the shady side f yur hme. windw that faces nrth is best because it is shaded mst f the day. Keep blinds and drapes in ther windws csed during the sunniest part f the day., Clean the air filter as recmmended in the sectin "Care and Cleaning". Prper insulatin and weather stripping in yur hme will help keep warm air ut and air in. External huse shading with trees, plants r awnings will help reduce the air cnditiner's wrk ad.
