2 Read Me First Page 1 Chest Fridge Please read these instructins & user manual carefully. Befre attempting t assemble yur Gldair Chest Fridge, ensure all parts are crrect and cntained within the bx as per the cmpnents list. Gldair suggests laying ut all cmpnents n a large flat surface and remving any plastic r prtective material befre assembling yur Chest Fridge. It is vital fr ptimum use f the Chest Fridge that yu Purge the gas line prir t attempting t ignite the Chest Fridge. D nt dispse f packaging until cmpletely satisfied with assembly f yur Chest Fridge Please refer t yur user manual fr perating instructins, further infrmatin r truble shting befre yu call the Custmer Service number listed within the user manual. Failure t stre apprpriately, clean & maintain yur Chest Fridge regularly will cnsequently result in it nt be cvered by the warranty.

3 Read Me First Page 2 Gas Leak Testing It is imprtant that yu leak test the Gas Cylinder befre first use with the Chest Fridge and every time the gas cylinder is refilled and recnnected t the Chest Fridge. T cmplete a Leak Test: Make sure all the cntrl knbs are OFF. In a small cntainer, mix up a slutin f water and detergent/sap. Mix the slutin well (abut the same cncentratin as washing up water). Turn the cylinder ON by rtating the knb t the pen psitin. Using a brush r spray bttle apply the sap slutin t the gas line and each jin in the gas line including: The gas cnnectin at the inlet f the Chest Fridge The gas hse The gas cnnectin at the gas cylinder If bubbles appear, there is a gas leak. If the leak is at the cnnectin, re-tighten and re-seal. If the leak is anywhere else r yu cannt reslve the leak by tightening the cnnectin DO NOT PROCEED. Replace gas hse and regulatr. Replacement hse and regulatrs can be purchased frm yur lcal BBQ retail specialist.

4 Read Me First Page 3 Purging The Gas Line It is very imprtant t purge the line free frm air t get the LPG t the head unit. Turn ff LPG Cylinder. Discnnect LPG Cylinder. Turn the gas burner knb n fr a minute r s releasing air frm the line. Turn ff burner knb. Recnnect the LPG Cylinder. Turn the dial n the LPG Cylinder SLOWLY t the n psitin. Press the cntrl knb in allwing gas t cme up the line and bleed it (pressing cntrl knb in) fr nt mre than 1-2 minutes r until yu smell gas. A five minute cmplete shut ff perid is necessary befre lighting. If a new tank has just been cnnected, please allw at least ne minute fr the air in the gas pipeline t purge ut at the High psitin. 5 Safety Guide Page 4 ALWAYS Leave the fridge t stand fr at least 4 hurs befre switching n t allw gas t settle if transprted hrizntally. Supervise children t ensure they d nt play with the appliance. Clse attentin is necessary when used r placed near children. Use the appliance nly as described in this manual and nly fr its intended purpse that is, the cling and string f edible fdstuffs and beverages. Use nly manufacturer's supplied and recmmended attachments. Put the fridge away after use t prevent accidents. Empty any water, cndensatin r liquid frm the fridge after use, d nt let liquid sit in the bttm f the fridge fr any length f time. Keep these instructins in a safe place fr easy reference. Discnnect the fridge frm pwer utlet by grasping the plug and pulling. NEVER D nt cnnect the appliance t the electricity r gas supply until all packing materials have been remved. This appliance shuld nt be used by children r infirm persns withut supervisin. Never mve the fridge by pulling n the pwer crd r gas cnnectin. D nt pull the crd t discnnect frm an utlet. Keep crd away frm heated surfaces and inspect regularly fr damage. If the supply crd r gas cnnectin is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer r its service agent r a similarly qualified persn in rder t avid a hazard. D nt handle the plug r appliance with wet hands. D nt put any bject int exhaust grill. D nt use this appliance if the exhaust grill is blcked. Keep grill free f dust and lint. D nt dispse f the appliance n a fire. Yur appliance cntains nn CFC substances in the insulatin which are ptentially flammable if expsed t fire.

The packing as supplied must be intact during transprtatin. If during the curse f transprt the appliance has been transprted hrizntally, it MUST NOT be perated fr at least 4 hurs t allw the system t settle. Failure t cmply with the abve instructins culd result in damage ccurring t the appliance. Gldair will nt be held respnsible if these instructins are disregarded. The appliance must be prtected frm rain, misture and ther atmspheric influences. IMPORTANT: This appliance is nt designed fr stacking with any ther appliance. DO NOT attempt t sit r stand n tp f yur appliance as it is nt designed fr such use. Yu culd injure yurself r damage the appliance. Such damage and injury is nt cvered by warranty. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the pwer cable is nt caught under the appliance during and after carrying/mving the appliance, t avid the pwer cable becming cut r damaged.

Befre using yur Chest fridge fr the fist time, check that: All packing materials and transit prtectrs have been remved. The appliance is n a flat, level surface The interir is dry and air can circulate freely. Clean the interir as recmmended under Cleaning and Care. Insert the plug int a pwer utlet and switch n the electricity supply. Set the desired thermstat level. A nen POWER indicatr light cmes n. The liquid and gases sealed within the refrigeratin system may give rise t nise, THIS IS NORMAL. D nt immediately lad the appliance when it is switched n. Ensure there is adequate space between each item in the fridge fr air circulatin. Items stred in the fridge shuld nly be placed in if they are at rm temperature. D nt place ht items in the fridge. D nt stre explsive r flammable items in the fridge. Always use plastic cntainers and bttles fr string fd/beverages Avid placing yur Chest Fridge directly alngside any heat surce r in direct sunlight as this will cause it t run fr lng perids. If lcated next t a surce f heat maintain the fllwing minimum side clearances: * Frm ckers 100mm * Frm radiatrs 300mm * Frm freezers r ther refrigeratrs 100mm Ensure that sufficient space is prvided arund the fridge t allw, bstructin-free air circulatin. Operatin with 240V plug IMPORTANT: Never use mre than ne energy surce at a time Verify that the mains vltage crrespnds t the perating vltage specified n the technical data label at the back f the appliance. If the electrical specificatins are crrect, place the plug int a wall scket. Turn the 240V thermstat knb (left) clckwise t psitin MAX. After abut ne hur the effects f the cling prcess becme visible: frst n the inside evapratr. The thermstat enables the temperature f the chest fridge t be adjusted. After a cling perid f apprx. 5 hurs, the thermstat can be set n a desired psitin; this psitin is influenced by the surrunding temperature and the intensity f use. At the psitin MIN. the cling prcess is stpped. The appliance is switched ff by remving the plug frm the wall scket.

8 Operatin with 12V plug Operating yur Fridge Page 7 IMPORTANT: Never use mre than ne energy surce at a time A safety fuse must be installed in the pwer supply line between the battery and the mbile fridge. It is nt necessary t check the plarity when starting up the appliance. Verify the vltage f the battery with the vltage indicated n the technical data label at the back f the appliance. When the appliance is pwered by a car battery, nly switch the mbile fridge n while the car is travelling. If the appliance remains switched n when the car is stpped, the battery charge will be drained very quickly. When using a battery as a pwer surce, there is n thermstatically cntrlled temperature regulatin. Pre-cl the mbile fridge n the mains befre starting a jurney and try t put nly pre-cled prducts in the mbile fridge. T start up the unit, cnnect the supplied cable at the back in the 12V scket and put the crrespnding side int the cigar lighter scket f the vehicle. T discnnect, remve the cnnectr frm the cigar lighter scket. Operatin with LPG gas bttle IMPORTANT: Never use mre than ne energy surce at a time Operatin n gas is prhibited in clsed areas, in vehicles and n bats. The appliance must be used in a well ventilated area when perating n gas. This means that it can als be used under the canpy f a tent if sufficiently ventilated. In all cases the lcatin shuld be prtected frm rain and/r splashing. The gas cylinder must be stred in a cl, dry, ventilated area and never in a basement r a cellar. Prtect frm sunlight and d nt expse t high temperatures. The appliance cannt perate at a pressure ther than the ne specified n the identificatin label at the back. Yu must therefre use the apprpriate pressure regulatr. During cnnectin f the chest fridge t the gas cylinder, always stay clear f any srt f ignitin and d nt smke. Cnnect in the rder gas cylinder pressure regulatr appliance. Excessive twisting and bending f the flexible hse must be avided. Check fr leaks nly by means f sapy water. Never check fr leaks using a flame. When changing the gas cylinder r discnnecting the hse, it is necessary t clse the valve f the gas cylinder. Always replace a damaged, split r leaking hse.

9 Operating yur Fridge Page 8 The gas valve knb (right hand cntrl dial) is a cmbinatin f temperature cntrl and ignitin. Next t this is the gas valve assembly cnsisting f an incrprated safety pilt, a burner with an ignitin plug and a piez-electric ignitr. The safety pilt autmatically maintains the gas supply as lng as it remains lit. It autmatically shuts ff the supply f gas if the flame ges ut. 1. Open the gas valve f the gas cylinder, press the gas valve knb in the panel, wait apprx. 15 secnds, turn the pressed knb t the right, a click f the ignitr can be heard and the gas flame is ignited. 2. Hld the knb pressed in this psitin s that the flame remains burning. It might be pssible that this peratin has t be repeated a cuple f times, especially if the appliance has nt been used fr a lng time r if the gas cylinder has been changed. 3. There can be air in the system, which has t be frced ut. It is necessary t check that the pilt is lit by lking dwn thrugh the grills alng the tp f the fridge r thrugh the hle at the back near the burner. NOTE: If the flame fails t light, wait at least a minute befre trying again. Leave the knb fr sme time in max. psitin; after a sufficiently lng cl dwn perid, a lwer psitin can be selected. T discnnect the mbile fridge running n gas: clse the valve f the gas cylinder and then turn the gas valve knb in the panel t psitin press.

10 Maintenance Page 9 Ensure the chest fridge is nt cnnected t any electrical r gas supply when cleaning The chest fridge must be defrsted regularly in rder t ensure a crrect peratin. T defrst the appliance, discnnect it, empty it and if necessary use a clth with ht water. Never immerse the fridge, pwer crd r plug in water r any ther liquid. Ensure n liquid remains in the fridge fr any length f time. Dry and clean the inside withut using abrasive prducts. Never use a knife r ther sharp tl t remve ice. If the appliance is t remain unused fr a lnger perid, discnnect it, clean it and leave the cver slightly pen during strage t prevent unpleasant durs. Put sme talcum pwder in the gasket f the lid. If after such a perid the fridge des nt cl dwn, switch it ff again and leave it turned upside dwn fr a few hurs. Put it the right way up and cnnect again. T avid the risk f electric shck, d nt dismantle the fridge. All repairs, if needed, particularly f the cling unit r the gas burner system, can nly be carried ut by a qualified electrical r gas technician.

Cnfirm yu are using the crrect accessries fr the peratin used Unplug all cnnectins and recnnect crrectly If nt, turn the fridge ff, turn it the crrect way up, leave fr fur hurs then turn back n Is there sufficient ventilatin arund the exterir f the fridge? Is the 12V battery sufficiently charged? Is the gas cylinder sufficiently filled? Remve any items that are blcking airflw arund the fridge If the battery is nt charged, discnnect fridge and re-cnnect t a different battery If nt, fill the LPG cylinder Has the gas valve knb been pressed lng enugh when using the gas supply? Has the thermstat knb been set t max psitin? If nt, turn the fridge ff, leave fr ne minute and repeat the ignitin prcedure If nt, turn the fridge ff, leave fr ne minute then turn back n and turn the thermstat t the max psitin Have 2 mdes f peratin been selected at the same time? If s, turn the fridge ff, leave fr ne minute then turn back n and turn the thermstat t the max psitin Is there t much fd inside the appliance? If s, remve sme items f fd t allw better air circulatin in the unit

12 One Year Warranty Yur Gldair prduct has been inspected, tested and is guaranteed subject t the fllwing fr a perid t ne year frm the date f purchase against defects in wrkmanship and materials. During this perid, such defects will be rectified by repair r replacement f the prduct purchased. Yur Warranty becmes invalid if in ur pinin the prduct has been misused, incrrectly assembled, tampered with, cnnected t a gas supply nt crrespnding with the name plate specificatin, r nt regularly maintained as per the Maintenance ntes at the end f this user manual. The Warranty des nt include any labur r ther assciated expense that may be invlved in remval r installatin f the prduct. Nrmal wear & tear and any issues invlving spider/insect web build up s inside gas lines are expressly excluded. If yur Gldair prduct fails t perate satisfactrily, please cntact Gldair via phne in the first instance. T btain a repair r replacement prduct under this Warranty, yu will need t prduce satisfactry evidence f date f purchase. The cmpleted Warranty and purchase receipt must be presented with the prduct. The Warranty shuld be filled ut at the time f purchase. It is in yur interest t make sure this is dne. If the prduct is t be replaced (cannt be repaired) then that replacement will be f the same r similar prduct r accessry excluding packaging, instructin card etc. Where a replacement prduct is supplied, this shall be guaranteed fr the balance f the riginal Warranty perid. Any mdel that is n lnger available will be replaced by a mdel f a value and with such features as we cnsider apprpriate in the circumstances. Gldair is nt respnsible fr freight frwarding charges, lsses r damage in transit. If service is required after the Warranty perid has expired, the prduct shuld be inspected by a qualified gas service technician. Service utside f the Warranty perid will be at yur cst. Cnsumers Guarantee Act (1993). In accrdance with the abve act, cnsumers are advised that: The manufacturer des nt undertake that repair facilities and parts are necessarily available fr this prduct.
