Cntact Trnad fr any warranty inquiries. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS This appliance must be grunded. If it shuld malfunctin r breakdwn, grunding prvides a path f least resistance fr electric current t reduce the risk electric shck. This machine is equipped with a crd having an equipment -grunding cnductr and grunding plug. The plug must be inserted int an apprpriate utlet that is prperly installed and grunded in accrdance with all lcal cdes and rdinances. WARNING: Imprper cnnectin f the equipment-grunding cnductr can result in a risk f electric shck. 8 WARNING: Plastic bags r film can be dangerus. T avid danger f suffcatin, keep away frm babies and children. The dual Suctin System is packaged fr cnvenience and requires minimal assembly. The nly tl yu will need is a Phillips head screwdriver. 1. Slide the handle Tube int the Cnnectr, aligning the hle in the Handle Tube with the mlded hle at the tp f the Cnnectr. 2. Hld the hex nut in frnt f the Cnnectr in the hex shaped cavity while inserting the screw with yur finger frm the back. Tighten the screw while placing yur finger ver the hex cavity t hld the hex nut in place. After a few turns, tighten further with a Phillips head screwdriver. D nt vertighten. 3. Slide screw thrugh plastic Crd Hk frm the inside f Clth Bag. Align screw with hle in Handle Tube. Tighten screw. 4. Remve screw frm Filter Cver. Remve Filter Cver. Insert the Cnnectr Plug int the back f the unit at the rear f the Pwerft Make sure the Cnnectr Plug is fully inserted. Replace Filter Cver. Replace Filter Cver Screw. Yur Vacuum cleaner is nw ready t use. Tip. Befre cleaning under lw furniture, always check area first fr bjects that might harm the Rtating Cleaning Brush r get caught in the Dust Tube. Pwer Supply The Pwer Crd is stred at the back f the vacuum cleaner, and is lped arund the Quick Release Crd Hks. The plarized Pwer Surce Plug is designed t attach t the Pwer Crd during strage. Befre using, make sure the Cnnectr Plug is securely attached t the Pwerft and that the Pwer Surce Plug is plugged int a plarized utlet. Pwer Switch The Pwer Switch is lcated in the Handle f the cleaner. Push dwn (I) t turn ON. Push up (O ) t turn OFF. Pwer Crd Strage When yu are finished using yur vacuum, return it t the upright psitin. Make sure the vacuum is turned OFF. Always unplug the vacuum by grasping the Pwer Surce Plug (NOT the Pwer Crd) and discnnecting frm the utlet. Prperly stre the Pwer Crd by winding the crd arund the Quick Release Crd Hks n the back f the vacuum in a cntinuus lp, r by hanging the crd n the Crd Strage Hk lcated n the frnt f the vacuum. Attach the Pwer Surce Plug t the Pwer Crd. Operatin This vacuum, with Dual Suctin System is designed t effectively and safely clean all types f carpeting, wd, linleum, and vinyl flrs. Its wide 14-inch Pwerft makes cleaning quick and easy. T place the vacuum in psitin fr use, lightly press yur ft n the Pwerft and tip the Handle backwards. 8

9 Rutine Maintenance Fr maximum perfrmance frm yur vacuum, check and maintain vacuum parts regularly. Replacing the Dust Bag Check the Dust Bag weekly. Replace the Dust Bag when it is near full r when cleaning suctin diminishes. Never reuse a Dust Bag. WARNING: T avid electrical shck r injury frm mving parts, always turn OFF the Pwer Switch and unplug the Pwer Surce Plug befre perfrming maintenance r truble shting. Always unplug by grasping the Pwer Surce Plug; NEVER pulling n the Pwer Crd t unplug. Tip: Vacuuming new carpet r vacuuming fine pwders may clg the Dust Bag. Check Dust bag ften. Unplug vacuum by grasping and pulling n the Pwer Surce Plug. Unzip Clth Bag. Remve cllar retainer by pressing n the tw tabs and pulling the tp twards yu. Dispse f Dust Bag. Slide cllar f new Dust Bag cmpletely int cllar retainer. Push cllar retainer back int psitin and secure in place. Tuck the remainder f the Dust Bag cmpletely inside the Clth Bag. Make sure it lays flat, tp t bttm, withut bunching. Zip Clth Bag. Cleaning the Dust Tube The vacuum features Dust Tube designed t ptimize cleaning pwer. Fr best perfrmance, rutinely check and clear excess dust and ther debris. Nte: Cver flr with newspaper t catch any lse material r dust remved during cleaning. Release Bag Tensin Spring. Remve Filter Cver screw and then remve Filter Cver. Unplug Cnnectr Plug. Lcate the Tube Release Buttn at the tp f the Pwerft. The Tube Release Buttn is hidden under a Rubber Cllar n the side f the Dust Tube and can be pressed thrugh the Rubber Cllar. Lift ff the Dust Tube while pressing n the Tube Release Buttn. Use a wire brush t clean ut the inside f the Dust Tube and the tp sectin f the Pwerft where they cnnect. Recnnect the tube with the Pwerft. It shuld snap int place. Make sure that the tube release buttn n the Tube lines up with the Tube Release Buttn n the Rubber Cllar. Plug the Cnnectr Plug back int base f vacuum. Always unplug by grasping the Pwer Surce Plug; NEVER pulling n the Pwer Crd t unplug. 9

10 Cleaning the Filter The pst-mtr HEPA filter is lcated in the Pwerft f yur vacuum cleaner. It shuld be checked ften, and cleaned when the pst-mtr HEPA filter becmes dirty. 1. T clean pst-mtr HEPA filter, remve the screw with a Phillips head screwdriver. 2. Lift ut filter cver. 3. Remve pst-mtr HEPA filter and blw ut with air. 4. Reinstall pst-mtr HEPA filter. 5. Replace filter cver by sliding in the tw tabs at the tp f the filter cver and centering ver the screw hle. 6. Replace screw. Cleaning the Rtating Cleaning Brush/Replacing the Drive Belt Check the Rtating Cleaning Brush and Drive Belt regularly fr wear r damage. Keep the Rtating Cleaning Brush ends free f string, hair, and carpet fibers. These can becme entangled and reduce the vacuum s cleaning effectiveness. NOTE: The Rtating Cleaning Brush can mst ften be cleaned withut remval frm the vacuum. If there is an excessive amunt f hair and debris, remve the Rtating Cleaning Brush fr prper cleaning. 1. Unplug the vacuum and turn face dwn n a flat surface. 2. Remve all 3 screws frm the bttm f the Pwerft. 3. Grip bth the Tp Cver and base while turning unit back ver. Lift ff Tp Cver. 4. Check Drive Belt. If it is brken r damaged, remve Rtating Cleaning Brush and replace Drive Belt. WARNING: T avid electrical shck r injury frm mving parts, always turn OFF the Pwer Switch and unplug the Pwer Surce Plug befre perfrming maintenance r truble shting. Always unplug by grasping the Pwer Surce Plug; NEVER pulling n the Pwer Crd t unplug. 5. T remve the Rtating Cleaning Brush, pull the right side f the Rtating Cleaning Brush tward the frnt f the Pwerft as yu lift slwly. 6. Clean ff Rtating Cleaning Brush as necessary. 7. Place existing r new Drive Belt ver Rtating Cleaning Brush and the mtr shaft. Insert the end cap pin n the left f the Rtating Cleaning Brush int the slt n the Pwerft and slide the end cap pin n the right end f the Rtating Cleaning Brush in t the slt in the Pwerft and lwer until it clicks int place. 8. Make sure the Furniture Prtectin Guard is still intact. 9. Align the 3 tabs n the Tp Cver with the 3 slts in the Pwerft. Press int place, making sure the Furniture Prtectin Guard is n the utside. 10. Turn vacuum cleaner face dwn. 11. 11 T replace the light bulb. 1. Unplug the vacuum. 2. Insert a flat tipped screwdriver int slt A and remve light lens. 3. Grasp bulb and pull ut. Discard ld bulb and replace with new ne. 4.
