Detailed technical knwledge btained in KNX training curses is a prerequisite t prper understanding. The functin f this device depends upn the sftware. Detailed infrmatin n ladable sftware and attainable functinality as well as the sftware itself can be btained frm the manufacturer s prduct database. Planning, installatin and cmmissining f the device are carried ut with the aid f KNX-certified sftware. The latest versins f prduct database and the technical descriptins are available n ur website. N buttn-press fr 5 secnds. - r - Press c buttn briefly as many time as necessary until the actuatr leaves the shrt-time manual mde. LEDs A1... n lnger flash, but rather indicate the utput status. Switching n permanent manual cntrl Operatin using the buttn field is prgrammed and nt disabled. Press the c buttn fr at least 5 secnds. LED c is illuminated, status LED A1 flashes, cntinuus manual mde is switched n. Switching ff permanent manual cntrl The device is in cntinuus manual mde. Press the c buttn fr at least 5 secnds. LED c is ff, bus peratin is switched n. Operating the utputs The device is in cntinuus r shrt-term manual mde. Press c buttn briefly as many times as necessary until the desired utput is selected. The LED f the selected utput A1... flashes. The LEDs ON/n and OFF/ indicate the status. Operate utput with ON/n r OFF/ buttn. Shrt: switch n/ff. Lng: dim brighter/darker. Release: Stp dimming. The LEDs ON/n and OFF/ indicate the status. i Shrt-term manual peratin: After running thrugh all f the utputs the device exits manual mde after anther brief press. j00 4/15

5 Switching ff all utputs The device is in cntinuus manual mde. Press the ALL OFF buttn. All utputs are shut ff. Disabling individual utputs The device is in cntinuus manual mde. Press c buttn briefly as many times as necessary until the desired utput is selected. The status LED f the selected utput A1... flashes. Press ON/n and OFF/ buttns simultaneusly fr at least 5 secnds. Selected utput is disabled. The status LED f the selected utput A1... flashes quickly. Activate bus mde (see sectin Deactivating permanent manual cntrl). i A disabled utput can be perated in manual mde. i When a disabled utput is selected in manual mde, the crrespnding status LED flashes twice briefly at intervals. Re-enabling utputs The device is in cntinuus manual mde. Press c buttn briefly as many times as necessary until the desired utput is selected. The status LED f the selected utput A1... flashes twice briefly at time intervals. Press ON/n and OFF/ buttns simultaneusly fr at least 5 secnds. Selected utput is enabled. LED f the selected utput flashes slwly. Activate bus mde (see sectin Deactivating permanent manual cntrl). 5 Infrmatin fr electrically skilled persns 5.1 Munting and electrical cnnectin DANGER! Electrical shck when live parts are tuched. Electrical shcks can be fatal. Befre wrking n the device, discnnect the pwer supply and cver up live parts in the wrking envirnment. Fitting the device Observe the temperature range. Ensure adequate cling. Maintain a distance f 18 mm, 1 mdule when perating multiple dimmers r pwer units within the same cntrl cabinet. Mixed lads with inductive transfrmers: hmic lad max. 50%. HV-LED lamps and cmpact flurescent lamps: Only cnnect lamps f ne manufacturer and f the same type n the same utput. D nt cnnect any ther lads t this utput. i Cnnect 600 W HV LED lamps r cmpact flurescent lamps at mst per 16 A circuit breaker. i The dimming principle in the as-delivered state: "Universal". If setting the dimming principle manually, ensure that the dimming principle and the cnnected lad match. Observe the infrmatin in the Technical Dcumentatin. i Only use the settings "HV LED phase cut-ff" and "HV LED phase cut-n" fr HV LED lamps r cmpact flurescent lamps. The mains cnnectin (4) is required fr cnstructin site peratin - manual peratin withut a cnnected bus vltage. CAUTION! Danger f destructin frm mixed lads. The dimmer and lad may be destryed. D nt cnnect capacitive lads, e.g. electrnic transfrmers, and inductive lads, e.g. inductive transfrmers, tgether n the same dimmer utput. D nt cnnect inductive transfrmers tgether with HV LED lamps r cmpact flurescent lamps n the same dimmer utput. Cnnect device as shwn in the cnnectin example (figure 4). i Chse pwer bsters that are suitable fr the dimmer and lad. Prgram the peratin with Universal pwer extensins in the device r with devices up t versin V01 set the maximum brightness t 90 %. Fr mre infrmatin please see instructins f the respective pwer pack. Changing cnnected lad type When changing the cnnected lad, e. g. replacement f a cnnected luminaire. The dimmer actuatr nly calibrates itself again after discnnectin f the mains vltage and lad. j00 6/15

7 CAUTION! Risk f destructin if the preset dimming principle and cnnected lad d nt match. The dimmer and lad may be destryed. Befre changing the dimming principle, bserve lad type. Befre changing the lad type, make sure that the dimming principle is crrect. Discnnect lad circuit. Discnnect mains vltage. Cnnect changed lad. Prgram dimmer actuatr t the new lad type. Cnnecting lamp lad up t 950 W Only pssible with dimmer actuatr 4gang: Several dimmer utputs can be cmbined fr dimming greater lads. Only utilize parallel-switched utputs up t 95 % each. i Observe delivery state. Befre cnnecting and switching n, prgram the dimmer actuatr t the changed utput cnfiguratin. CAUTION! Danger f destructin. 400 V are shrted when utputs switched in parallel are cnnected t different uter cnductrs. The device will be destryed. Always cnnect utputs switched in parallel t the same uter cnductr. Cnnect device as shwn in the cnnectin example (figure 5). i D nt expand parallel-switched dimmer utputs with universal pwer packs. Cnnect device as shwn in the cnnectin example (figure 6). i During the cmmissining, the minimum speed f the cnnected mtr must be determined and the actuatr adapted t this. Risk f destructin if the preset dimming principle and cnnected lad d nt match. Dimmer actuatr and lad may be destryed. Befre cmmissining, make sure that the sftware setting matches the lad. Switch n the bus vltage. Press the prgramming buttn. Lad the physical address int the device. Lad the applicatin sftware. Switch n vltage supply n the utputs. Switch mains vltage n. The device calibrates itself t the lad and selects the apprpriate dimming prcedure phase cut-n r phase cut-ff. The calibratin prcedure becmes nticeable during hmic lads by a brief flicker and lasts between 1 t 10 secnds depending n the netwrk cnditins. During the calibratin phase, received peratins are executed after cmpletin f the calibratin prcedure. The dimming prcedure can als be predefined with the parameterizatin. In this case, the calibratin prcedure is nt necessary. Using speed cntrllers: Setting minimum speed Only fr dimmer actuatr 1gang. When deplyed as a speed cntrller, the device must be adapted t the minimum speed f the cnnected mtr. j00 9/15

10 CAUTION! Cnnected mtrs must nt stp. Risk f destructin fr mtr and cntrlling device. Set the minimum speed in such a way that the mtr des nt stp at a minimum setting. The physical address and applicatin sftware are laded int the device. The device is prgrammed as a speed cntrller. Lad the cnnected mtr with the maximum lad that ccurs during peratin. Switch n dimmer actuatr. The dimmer actuatr switches n the cnnected mtr t the cutting-in speed. After the set resting time has elapsed, the dimmer actuatr sets the currently required speed. Slwly reduce the speed setting, e. g. with manual cntrl, until the cnnected mtr has reached its minimum permitted speed. While ding s, take the mtr fllw-up int accunt. Determine the current setting, e. g. by reading the current value f the cmmunicatin bject "Feedback f speed". Enter the determined value as minimum speed in the parameter settings. Lad changed applicatin sftware int the device. i The set cutting-in speed must remain active until the cnnected mtr has started and has reached the cutting-in speed. 13 Cnnected LED lamps r cmpact flurescent lamps flicker Cause 1: Lamps are nt dimmable. Check manufacturer's instructins. Exchange lamps fr anther type. Cause 2: Dimming principle and lamps d nt ptimally match. Fr HV-LED: Check peratin in anther dimming principle, reduce cnnected lad as well if necessary. Fr LV-LED: Check the lamp perating device and replace as necessary. With the "Universal" setting: Define the dimming principle manually. Cnnected HV-LED lamps r cmpact flurescent lamps in the lwest dimming psitin are t bright; dimming range is t small Cause 1: The set minimum brightness is t high. Reduce minimum brightness. Cause 2: HV-LED phase cut-ff dimming principle des nt ptimally match the cnnected lamps. Check peratin in the "HV-LED phase cut-n" setting, reduce cnnected lad as well if necessary. Exchange lamps fr anther type. Output has switched ff. Cause 1: verheating prtectin has tripped. Discnnect mains supply and all utputs frm the mains, switch-ff crrespnding circuit breakers. HV-LED phase cut-ff: Reduce the cnnected lad. Exchange lamps fr anther type. HV-LED phase cut-n: Reduce the cnnected lad. Check peratin in the "HV-LED phase cut-ff" setting. Exchange lamps fr anther type. Let device cl dwn fr at least 15 minutes. Check installatin situatin, ensure cling, e.g. prvide distance frm surrunding devices. Cause 2: Surge prtectin has triggered. HV-LED phase cut-ff: Check peratin in the "HV-LED phase cut-n" setting, reduce cnnected lad as well if necessary. Exchange lamps fr anther type. i The respnse f the surge prtectin can be signalled by sending a shrt-circuit telegram r can be determined by plling the "shrt-circuit" cmmunicatin bject. Cause 3: shrt-circuit in utput circuit Discnnect mains vltage and affected utput frm the mains supply. Eliminate shrt-circuit. First switch n the utput vltage again and then the mains supply. Switch the affected utput ff and n again. i When a shrt-circuit ccurs the affected utput switches ff. Autmatic restart when shrtcircuit is eliminated within 100 ms (inductive lad) r 7 secnds (capacitive r hmic lad). After that lasting switch-ff. i When a shrt-circuit ccurs during the calibratin prcess, the lad calibrates itself again after the shrt-circuit is eliminated. Cause 4: lad failure. Check lad, replace light bulb. Fr inductive transfrmers, check primary fuse and replace if necessary. Manual cntrl with buttn field nt pssible Cause 1: Manual cntrl has nt been prgrammed. 14 Cause 2: Manual cntrl via bus disabled. Enable manual cntrl. Output cannt be perated. Cause 1: Manual cntrl has nt been prgrammed. Reprgram device. Cause 2: Manual cntrl via bus disabled. Enable manual cntrl. Nne f the utputs can be perated. Cause 1: All f the utputs are disabled- Cancel disabling. Cause 2: Manual mde active. Deactivate manual mde (switch ff cntinuus manual mde). Cause 3: Applicatin sftware missing r faulty. Check prgramming and crrect. Cause 4: Applicatin sftware has been stpped, prgramming LED is flashing. Discnnect device frm the bus and mains, switch n again after 10 secnds. All utputs ff and nt pssible t switch n Cause 1: bus vltage failure. Check bus vltage. Cause 2: mains vltage failure. Check mains vltage n utputs and mains pwer supply. Luminaires flicker r buzz, prper dimming nt pssible, device buzzes Cause: wrng dimming principle set Installatin r cmmissining errr. Discnnect device and luminaire, switch ff circuit breaker. Check installatin and crrect. If the wrng dimming principle has been preselected: Set crrect dimming principle. If dimmer actuatr calibrates itself incrrectly, e.g. with highly inductive mains r lng lad cables: preselect crrect dimming principle with cmmissining. Light switches n at maximum brightness and then dims t the target value. Cause: Device is prgrammed as a speed cntrller. Reprgram device. When using as a speed cntrller: Mtr des nt start Cause: Device is prgrammed as a dimmer. Switch ff device immediately. Reprgram device. When using as a speed cntrller: Mtr stps at lw speed.
