OPERATING THE APPLIANCE 1 Wherever pssible fill thrugh the sput, as this helps t free the filter frm limescale build-up. Always ensure that the level f water in the kettle is filled t at least the minimum level shwn n the water level indicatr. Bil nly as much water as yu need as this saves electricity. 2 Place the kettle n the base unit, ensuring the kettle lcates n t the 360 cnnectr. The 360 cnnectr allws the kettle t be lcated at any psitin. - ideal fr left and right handed users and fr cnvenient psitining n wrktp. 3 Plug in and switch n at the wall scket. 4 Switch the kettle n. The pwer n nen, will light up. 5 When the water bils the kettle will switch ff autmatically. If yu are using the kettle fr the first time, pur away the biled water and refill. 6 Lift the kettle frm the base unit by the handle ensuring yu hld the kettle level. T re-bil, switch t ON again. If the kettle has just switched ff wait a minute r s befre switching it back n again. If yu d nt put in enugh water, r switch n the kettle when it is empty, the safety cut-ut will switch ff the pwer autmatically. If this happens, refill and wait a few minutes fr the element t cl, then use as nrmal. Filter remval 1 Open the lid. 2 Lift the filter upwards frm its hlder. 3 T refit the filter, slide it int the side wall guides f the filter hlder until it clicks int place. WARNING: Unless the filter is fitted crrectly, the kettle lid may nt clse and lck securely. Quiet element A The quiet bil element is lcated inside the kettle at the bttm. The quiet bil element has been designed t reduce the nise that this kettle makes when biling. Please nte that there will still be a small amunt f nise emitted by this kettle during the water biling prcess. Whistle feature B There is a switch  n the crdless base f the prduct that can switch the whistle n and ff as desired. Descaling IMPORTANT: As this appliance is fitted with a cncealed element it must be descaled regularly. The frequency f descaling depends n usage and the hardness f the water in yur area. Excessive scale can cause the appliance t switch ff befre biling and may damage the element invalidating the warranty. It is essential that regular descaling takes place. Remve hard scale using a prprietary descaling prduct suitable fr stainless steel, glass r plastic. Fr stainless steel kettles please fllw the instructins carefully. Alternatively use citric acid crystals (available frm mst pharmacies) as fllws: 1 Fill the appliance 3/4 full, bil, then unplug the appliance (remve the crdless kettle frm the base unit) and stand it in an empty sink r bwl. 2 Gradually add 50gm f citric acid crystals t the water, then leave the kettle t stand. D nt use a mre cncentrated slutin. 3 As sn as the effervescence subsides, empty the appliance and rinse it thrughly with cld water. 4 Wipe the utside f the appliance thrughly with a damp clth t remve all traces f acid which may damage the finish.
