2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS READ AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS WARNING FOR YOUR SAFETY This prduct shuld be installed by a prfessinal service technician r similar persn, qualified in electrical equipment installatin. Imprper installatin and/r peratin culd cause serius injury, prperty damage r death. Imprper installatin and/r peratin will vid the limited warranty. INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY TO PERSON WARNING T guard against injury when using this unit, basic safety precautins shuld always be taken, including the fllwing: 1. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. 2. DANGER: T avid pssible electrical shck, special care shuld be taken since water is emplyed in the use f this equipment. Fr each f the fllwing situatins, d nt attempt repairs yurself ; return the appliance t an authrized service facility fr service r discard the appliance. A. If the appliance falls int the water, DO NOT reach fr it! First unplug it and then retrieve it. If electrical cmpnents f the appliance get wet, unplug the appliance immediately. B. D nt perate any appliance if it has a damaged crd r plug, r if it is malfunctining r if it is drpped r damaged in any manner. 3. D nt use an appliance fr anything ther than its intended use. The use f attachments nt recmmended r sld by the appliance manufacturer may cause an unsafe cnditin. 4. Always unplug an appliance frm an utlet when nt it use, befre putting n r taking ff parts, and befre cleaning. Never yank the crd t pull the plug frm the utlet. Grasp the plug and pull it t discnnect it. 2

D nt tuch the plug with wet hands. 9. If an extensin crd is necessary, a crd with a prper rating shuld be used. A crd rated fr less amperes r watts than the appliances rating may verheat. Care shuld be taken t arrange the crd s that it will nt be tripped ver r pulled. 10. Use nly 3-wire extensin crds that have 3-prng grunding-type plugs and 3-ple crd cnnectrs that accept the plug frm the prduct. Use nly extensin crds that are intented fr utdr use. These extensin crds are identified by a marking Acceptable fr use with utdr appliances; stre indrs when nt in use. Use nly extensin crds having an electrical rating nt less than the rating f the prduct. D nt use damaged extensin crds. Examine extensin crds and d nt yank n the crd t discnnect it frm the receptacle. Keep the crd away frm heat and sharp edges. Always discnnect the extensin crd frm the receptacle befre discnnecting the prduct frm the extensin crd. 11. This prduct shall nly be cnnected t a pwer supply receptacle prtected by a Grund Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI). If this unit is nt equipped (ptinal) with a GFCI, a GFCI shuld be prvided by the installer and shuld be tested n a rutine basis. T test the GFCI, push the test buttn. The GFCI shuld interrupt pwer. Push the reset buttn. Pwer shuld be restred. If the GFCI fails t perate in this manner, the GFCI is defective. If the GFCI interrupts pwer t the unit withut the test buttn being pushed, a grund current is flwing, indicating the pssibility f an electric shck. D nt use this unit. 7 D. INSTALLATION 1 Shut dwn circulatin pump 2 Munt ph cntrl device (A) n wall. See diagram (b). Be sure that it is munted clse enugh t pump timer and an utlet fr cnnectins t be made. 3 Plug in ph cntrl device t a GFCI utlet and cnnect circulatin pwer crd t timer (115V) Befre cnnecting t timer, turn breaker ff t timer. If yu in dubt, have this imprtant wrk dne by a licensed electrician. 4 Install tapping saddle (F) in lcatins shwn in diagram (a). Be sure t install tapping saddles accrding t diagram (c). Be sure that the saddles are within 15 fr hses (B) and 20 fr prbe (D). 5 Mark piping thru tapping saddle. Remve tapping saddle and drill ½ hle thrugh piping. 6 Reinstall tapping saddles- Install Reducer fr injectin valve, attachment screw (C) and PSS3 prbe scket (E). Tefln tape shuld be used n all threaded cnnectins. 7 Install suctin and delivery hses (B) nt ph cntrl device (A) Clear (4m) t left side and plyethylene (5m) t right side. 8 Install plyethylene (5m) hse t reducer fr injectin valve (C) 9 Install ft filter ver end f PVC clear (4m) hse and then FPM duckbill valve n t end f PVC clear (4m) hse Place this end int acid cntainer. Place acid cntainer a minimum f 6 ft away frm ph cntrl device (A). See warning n page Unscrew tp prtin f PSS3 prbe scket and remve ring, flat metal washer and flat rubber washer. 11 Place tp part f PSS3 prbe scket ver SPH-1 ph prbe (D), then ring, flat metal washer and flat rubber washer. 12 Calibrate the prbe See sectin E (page 9) DO NOT ALLOW PROBE TIP TO BECOME DRY, THIS WILL DAMAGE THE PROBE. 13 Install SPH-1 ph prbe (D) int PSS3 prbe scket (E) by screwing them tgether Prbe shuld be cmpletely seated int tp f PSS3 prbe scket. 14 Start circulatin pump and check fr leaks If there are any leaks, seal them befre cntinuing. If at any time during the Limited Warranty perid, any defect, as defined herein, prevents the prduct frm perfrming crrectly in an applicatin fr which it was designed, Delta UV will repair r replace the prduct (at Delta UV s ptin) as utlined herein: COVERED WARRANTY ITEMS: This Limited Warranty DOES cver the ph regulatr unit, its cmpnents, and defects theref against: Manufacturing Defects Material Defects Husing Crrsin Causing Leakage Plastic Cmpnent Degradatin Prbe failure during 1st 6 mnths (Pr Rated) NON-COVERED WARRANTY ITEMS: This Limited Warranty DOES NOT cver the fllwing UV unit defects: Failure Of Any Cvered Cnditin When Caused By Any Of The Fllwing: Mechanical Abuse Imprper Installatin Acts f War r Gd Freeze Damage Any Failure Nt Indicated As Cvered Warranty Item Herein Imprper Operating Vltage Nte 1: During the duratin f this Limited Warranty, shuld any failure ccur, the unit shuld be inspected at the site t determine the cause f failure, and if that failure is shwn t be a cvered item, the Original End User (User) must request a written Return Gds Authrizatin (RGA) frm Delta UV, prir t any prduct return. Any returned unit is t be accmpanied by Delta UV s RGA and is t be returned freight prepaid t Delta UV fr Limited Warranty evaluatin. The User is respnsible fr any freight damage assciated with such return. Unit failures, r cmpnents theref, fund t be cvered under this Limited Warranty will be repaired r replaced (at Delta UV s ptin) withut cst t the User and will be returned t the User via UPS Surface, at the User s expense. Delta UV shall be the sle judge in determining the cause f failure f any UV unit. Units arriving in brken cnditin will nt be warranted. The term Original End User (User) shall mean the persn r cmpany that was in pssessin f the physical lcatin where the UV unit was riginally installed, at the time f first installatin, as evidenced by an riginal invice frm the selling cmpany t the User at the lcatin where the unit is t be returned. A pht cpy f said riginal invice must accmpany the UV unit RGA paperwrk. UV units received unaccmpanied by the required dcumentatin will nt be accepted by Delta UV fr Warranty evaluatin and will be returned t the User in the same cnditin as received, freight cllect (COD) if the User fails t prvide the required dcumentatin within ten (10) days frm date f ntificatin f missing dcumentatin frm Delta UV. Any unit returned t Delta UV COD r freight cllect will be rejected frm the freight carrier. Nte 2: This Warranty is Limited in that it des nt cver any mnetary reimbursement fr freight charges, fr remval and/r installatin labr, r any ther incurred csts by any ther persn(s) r firm(s), including (but nt limited t) any cnsequential damage r lss f use that might be claimed. The Limited Warranty perid shall cmmence upn the date f sale t the User, but in all cases n later than ne hundred twenty (120) days after the date f manufacture f the UV unit, as shwn n the Delta UV date cde lcated n the prduct identificatin label, whichever ccurs first. UV units received with factry identificatin missing, mutilated r altered, r units received cntaining cmpnents nt supplied by Delta UV r mdified in any way, will nt be warranted under any circumstances. OTHER RIGHTS - This Limited Warranty supersedes any and all previus Limited Warranties fr this prduct, gives yu specific legal rights, and yu may have ther rights which vary frm state t state.
