3 GUARDRAIL ITEMS 1 7 OVERVIEW Guardrail items have different dcumentatin requirements fr each unit f measure (UOM). All guardrail items must be cunted r measured and calculated. Dcumentatin examples fr a few selected guardrail items are illustrated in this chapter. Sme minr mdificatins may be required t shw the unusual circumstances that may ccur with different items, but the general frmat shuld be fllwed. If there are items which cannt be dcumented accrding t the fllwing examples, cntact the Cnstructin Admin Services Sectin fr assistance. SURVEY CREW CHIEF S RESPONSIBILITIES GUARDRAIL ITEMS ALL survey dcuments t the Office Engineer. Use the naming cnventin: Stakeut Data year-mnth-day Inspectrs Initials, (e.g. Stakeut Data BLF) in the Subject line. INSPECTOR DAILY REPORT (IDR) FIELDMANAGER 1. Create an IDR in FieldManager daily t dcument the survey activity. Refer t Chapter 7, Inspectr Daily Reprt, in the FieldManager User Guide fr details. 2. INSPECTOR S RESPONSIBILITIES GUARDRAIL ITEMS Use the Agreement Estimate Reprt (AEB) as a reference t ensure that items and quantities are paid in the crrect categry. Use the Structure List (Figure 17-2), lcated in the Cntract plans and the Standard Plans, t help identity items, quantities, descriptins and lcatins. Create an IDR in Mbile Inspectr daily t dcument the activity being mnitred. Refer t the Mbile Inspectr User Guide fr details n using this applicatin. NOTES fr Guardrail item pstings: If there are questins n whether an EACH item can be listed separately r cmbined, cntact the Cnstructin Admin Services Sectin fr assistance. The Design Divisin s Standards and Cmpliance Sectin shall review the guardrail nce it is staked and prir t the Cntractr rdering the material and starting the installatin. This will allw changes t be made t the guardrail if the Cntract plans are incrrect fr the actual field cnditins. On current and future cntracts, cntact the Standards and Cmpliance Sectin t schedule a review. The Resident Engineer will cntact the Maintenance and Asset Divisin at the cmpletin f every cntract t see if a Guardrail Inventry Data sheet is required. If the data sheet is required, it will be cmpleted by the Resident Engineer and sent t the Safety Divisin, with a cpy sent t the Cnstructin Admin Services Sectin. If there are any questins, cntact Maintenance and Asset Divisin fr assistance. Per subsectin , (Measurement and Payment) Partial Payment, f the Standard Specificatins, partial payment may be made fr guardrail when nly the psts have been put in. Therefre, when the guardrail psts are installed, 50 percent f the guardrail quantity shall be allwed fr payment. The remaining 50 percent will be paid when the guardrail is cmplete. After each sectin f guardrail has been cmpleted the final in-place measurement will be dcumented. Refer t Figures 17-4 thrugh 17-8 fr examples f guardrail item pstings with different UOM. NOTE: When a Mbile Inspectr IDR is cmpleted and lcked the infrmatin is upladed int a FieldManager IDR, where it is reviewed and generated fr prcessing prgress payments. Scan and save them t the EDOC Cntract Files\Material and Testing Files\Divisin N. 4 Materials Divisin Certs and Test Reprts\4.? Send riginal certificatins t the Materials Divisin fr apprval. Save s cntaining survey stakeut data in the EDOC Cntract Files\Cntract Files\Divisin N 12 - Miscellaneus\12.8 Stakeut Data directry. Review guardrail item calculatin sheets fr accuracy and save electrnically in the apprpriate EDOC Cntract Files\Cntract Files\Divisin N. 7 - Cnstructin Pay Estimate and Related Data\7.? IDR Calculatin Sheets directry using this naming cnventin: IDR year-mnth-day Inspectrs Initials, (e.g. IDR KMM). Apprve materials in FieldManager when the apprved material certificatins are received frm the Materials Divisin. Refer t Chapter 6, Wrking with Materials, in the FieldManager User Guide, fr details. Distribute executed cpies f cntract mdificatins t Inspectrs. INSPECTOR DAILY REPORT (IDR) FIELDMANAGER When a Mbile Inspectr IDR is lcked by an Inspectr, the infrmatin is upladed int a FieldManager IDR. Refer t Chapter 7, Inspectr Daily Reprt, in the FieldManager User Guide fr details. 1. Verify the fllwing: Infrmatin in Cmments and Remarks Infrmatin in the Cntractr tab (Persnnel and Equipment) Items are paid crrectly accrding t the cntract dcuments (e.g., plans, supplemental ntices, cntract mdificatins). Item quantities Quantities in pstings are dcumented t the crrect Significant Figure. Statins and Line Designatins in the Lcatins Calculatins are crrect. Remarks reference calculatin sheets, if applicable. NOTE: Length des nt always equal the difference between the beginning and ending statin. Smetimes there is a curve r an bstacle that will affect the distance. Always check with the Inspectr befre assuming the calculatins are incrrect. 2.
