Plicy Statement: This plicy is available t all interested parties n ur website and n request frm the Schl Office. It is reviewed annually, and when events r legislatin requires, by the Directr f Finance and Operatins, Facilities Manager and the Gvernrs. EYFS Key Themes and Cmmitments: This plicy cmplies with the fllwing EYFS Key Themes and Cmmitments : A Unique Child (1.3 Keeping Safe) Enabling Envirnments (3.3 The Learning Envirnment, 3.4 The Wider Cntext) Prcedures: Prcedures are in place t ensure that pupils, staff and visitrs are prtected frm fire when n the premises. Buildings are safe and the Schl has taken apprpriate steps t ensure safety as far as reasnably practicable. The Schl has minimised the pssibility f fire by taking the fllwing measures: The cnstructin f buildings is in line with current fire cntrl practice; All electrical equipment and wiring is tested and checked regularly; Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin Plicy Cranfrd Huse Schl Trust Limited 1

2 All fire cntrl measures are up t current standards and are checked regularly; All fire alarm systems are apprpriate fr the use f buildings and are maintained and checked regularly; All Emergency Exit lighting is fitted in buildings as required; Fire extinguishers are sited as apprpriate and maintained annually; Fire Exit rutes are kept clear at all times and signed apprpriately; Fire drills are carried ut each term; Staff are trained apprpriately; Ntices are displayed thrughut the Schl site setting ut fire safety infrmatin fr staff, pupils and visitrs; Husekeeping is maintained. In additin t the abve, Fire Risk Assessments, in line with the requirements f the Regulatry Refrm (Fire Safety) Order 2005 are in place and are reviewed annually and any necessary remediatin actin taken. The Schl will cmply with any recmmendatins as made by the Fire Service, and will regularly carry ut and recrd Risk Assessments in relatin t fire, tgether with fire drills and any rutine tests recmmended by the Fire Service r Swan Fire, the Schl s external fire safety cnsultants. There are currently n significant recmmendatins f the Fire Service r Swan Fire utstanding beynd any timescales set by that service fr their implementatin. There are defined prcedures ( Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin and Emergency Evacuatin Prcedures fr bth the main Cranfrd Huse Schl and Nursery Sites) in place, in the event f fire, fr the Directr f Finance and Operatins wh is the Fire Safety Officer and ther staff wh are familiar with the fire alarm systems. At the Nursery, the Head f EYFS r in her absence, the Deputy Head f Nursery is the Fire Safety Officer There are clear prcedures ( Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin and Emergency Evacuatin Prcedures fr bth the main Cranfrd Huse Schl and Nursery Sites) in place fr staff and pupils in the event f fire which cvers nrmal Schl and Nursery hurs and als specified times at the end f the Schl day t ensure safe evacuatin, assembly, taking a rll call etc. t establish whether all staff and pupils have been accunted fr. Anyne discvering a fire shuld activate the nearest break glass pint. The Fire and Emergency Services can als be called directly by dialling 9 fr an utside line then 999. On n accunt shuld anyne enter r return t a burning building. 4 Rles and Respnsibilities: Headmaster: Overall respnsibility fr ensuring that the Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin Plicy (Including Nursery) and Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin and Emergency Evacuatin Prcedures (fr bth the Main Cranfrd Huse Schl and Nursery Sites) are adequate and sufficient and fr ensuring that the apprpriate management supprt is available t maintain the Statement f Intent lies with the Headmaster and Chair f Gvernrs. Fire Safety Officer (Directr f Finance and Operatins at the Main Schl Site and Head f EYFS/Deputy Head f Nursery at the Nursery): The Directr f Finance and Operatins is the Fire Safety Officer fr the Schl and is assisted by the Facilities Manager, wh acts as the Health and Safety C-rdinatr. The Head f EYFS and in her absence, the Deputy Head f Nursery are the Fire Safety Officers fr the Nursery. They are respnsible fr: Carrying ut the Fire Risk Assessment in cnjunctin with ther relevant staff n a yearly basis, (r sner) if changes ccur in legislatin, persnnel, premises r ther circumstances affecting fire safety; Ensuring crrect writing and implementatin f Fire Safety Prtcls including the writing f standard and individual Persnal Emergency Evacuatin Plans (PEEPs) fr disabled persns and thse requiring assistance. The Directr f Finance and Operatins is als respnsible fr prviding supprt and guidance fr thse with rles utlined belw; The delegatin and arrangement f adequate training t ensure ttal cmpliance with the Fire Risk Assessment and this Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin Plicy (Including Nursery) and the Whle Fire Risk Preventin and Emergency Evacuatin Prcedures (fr bth the Main Cranfrd Huse Schl and Nursery Sites); Ensuring that inductin training with all new staff is carried ut in a timely and apprpriate manner whether staff are temprary r permanent; Ensuring that recrds are kept up t date n the installatin, testing and maintenance f relevant fire safety systems, equipment and n the training f staff as required in this Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin Plicy (Including Nursery) and the Whle Schl Fire Risk Preventin and Emergency Evacuatin Prcedures (fr bth the main Cranfrd Huse Schl and Nursery Sites); Ensuring fire detectrs alarms and extinguishers are maintained and checked by a cmpetent persn (i.e. ISO9000/Certified r BAFE apprved); Actining and recrding any reprt f ptential r actual fire hazardus situatins r near misses; Ensuring that the signing in and ut f all relevant guests and ther staff plicies are adhered t; Ensuring that Fire Ntices are displayed thrughut the site.
