7 Basic Operatin Temperature Cntrl Select de The HEAT setting indicates the temperature (minus the deadband) the rm has t reach befre the furnace will turn n t heat the rm. (Step 8 appears if step 7 is ON.) 0 8 ELECTRIC HEAT - Setting Electric Heat t ON, will cause the thermstat t turn n the fan immediately any time there is a heat demand. Since mst gas furnaces cntrl the fan, this feature shuld be ff unless the heater is nly electric. On Off Set Electric Heat t On if either stage f heating is electric, therwise set t OFF. 16 Advanced ULTI-STAGE OPERATION - Cntrl up t 2 Heat, 2 Cl Stages The 2nd Stage f heat r cl is turned n when: (A) the 1st Stage has been n fr tw minutes and (B) the setpint plus the 1st stage deadband (tw degrees) plus the 2nd stage deadband. 17 Advanced CYCLES PER HOUR - The Cycles Per Hur setting mnitrs the number f times per hur yur HVAC unit may energize. Fr example, at a setting f 6 cycles per hur the HVAC unit will nly be allwed t energize nce every 10 minutes. The Cycles Per Hur limit may be verridden by pressing any buttn n the thermstat. Select the cycles per hur limit. d=cycles per hur limit defeated. d1=d + defeat 5 min. cmpressr lckut. (d, d1, 2-6) I2 6 STAND ALONE HUIDIFY/FAN OPERATION - If ON is selected, the TSTAT0713K will autmatically turn n the fan any time there is a demand fr humidity. 18 Advanced PROGRAABLE FAN - This timer will start the fan at the tp f each hur and the fan will run fr the number f minutes selected in step #14. Steps 15 & 16 restrict the hurs during which the prgrammable fan may perate; step #15 is the start time and step #16 is the stp time. Selecting the same start and stp times will cause the fan t perate 24 hurs a day. Adjust the Prgrammable Fan timer minutes. 0:00 = ff 0 : 00 I4 Fan On Adjust the Prgrammable Fan start time. I8 DEHUIDIFICATION - There are 2 methds f Dehumidificatin: 1) Using yur A/C t dehumidify (see belw and next page). 2) Using the Dehum Terminal (see page 20). TO DEHUIDIFY - If Cl t Dehumidify is ON, the thermstat has the ability t initiate a cling cycle fr advanced dehumidificatin peratin. When the thermstat detects a humidity percentage abve the setpint fr dehumidificatin, and heating r cling is nt n, the thermstat will frce the cmpressr t run with the fan, thus reducing misture in the air. This feature will allw yu t adjust the cling versht f the setpint, 0 t 5 (adjustable in step #20, next page). Fr Example: If the cling versht is set fr 3 F and the cling setpint is set fr 74 F, then as lng as the rm temperature reads between 71 F and 74 F this feature will energize the cmpressr and fan t dehumidify the air. 21 Advanced DEHUIDIFICATION TERINAL - The DEHU terminal may be prgrammed t perate in ne f tw ways: 1) Nrmally Clsed (NC): The thermstat will de-energize the DEHU terminal t allw the fan t run in lw speed when there is a call fr 1st stage cling and the rm humidity is greater than the dehumidificatin setpint. 2) Nrmally Open (NO): The thermstat will energize the DEHU terminal t allw the fan t run in lw speed when there is a call fr 1st stage cling nly and the rm humidity is greater than the dehumidificatin setpint. 23 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin COFORT ALERT DIAGNOSTICS - Yur thermstat installatin may include an external Cmfrt Alert diagnstics mdule that mnitrs yur heat pump r air cnditining cmpressr. If the Cmfrt Alert detects an abnrmal cnditin, the Service Equip icn will flash n the thermstat display. DUAL SETPOINT BEHAVIOR - The adjustable setpint range is: degrees in Fahrenheit and 7-36 degrees in Centigrade. When in the Heat r Cl mdes, this adjustable range is unhampered. When adjusting any Aut mde, including prgramming 4 time perids, the thermstat will nt allw the heat setpint t get clser t the cl setpint than the value prgrammed as the minimum difference in step #11 page 15. When entering the Aut mde, the heat and cl setpints will remain spread apart by the amunt that they were adjusted, prir t entering Aut. Fr example: If the cl setpint was set t 80 while in the cl mde and the heat setpint was adjusted t while in the Heat mde, upn entering the Aut mde the heat and cl setpints wuld be 80 and. Bth setpints wuld then mve up and dwn tgether, (in this example spread by 10 degrees), by pressing the up r dwn buttns. T mve the Heat and cl setpints clser tgether, enter the Cl r Heat mde by pressing the buttn, then adjust the setpint(s) clser tgether. The heat setpint is limited t hw clse it can cme t cl by step #11 (page 15). Page 22

24 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin EERGENCY HEAT - Available if yu have a Heat Pump installed. T initiate the Emergency Heat feature, press the FAN buttn. While hlding the FAN buttn press the UP buttn. The Cl setpint display will read EH (emergency heat). fr Emergency Heat FAN : 73 I2 00 Eh HEAT OPERATION: During Emergency Heat peratin the thermstat will turn n the fan and the 2nd stage f heat when there is a demand fr heat. Als during Emergency Heat the 1st stage r cling will be unavailable. EXIT EERGENCY HEAT: Fllw the same steps as entering Emergency Heat by pressing the FAN and UP buttns. During Emergency Heat, nly OFF and HEAT mdes are available by pressing the buttn. FACTORY DEFAULTS - If, fr any reasn, yu desire t return all the stred settings back t the factry default settings, press the buttn. While hlding the de buttn, press the FAN buttn fr 5 secnds; all icns will appear. and hld the FAN buttn until Fd appears; this resets all factry settings. T return t nrmal peratin, press the buttn nce. Page 23

25 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin HUIDIFICATION/DEHUIDIFICATION SETPOINTS - When adjusting the humidificatin and dehumidificatin setpints, the thermstat will nt allw the dehumidificatin setpint t get clser t the humidificatin setpint than 5%. Fr example: If the humidificatin setpint was set t 35%, then the dehumidificatin setpint wuld nt be able t be set any lwer than 40%. Additinally, if the dehumidificatin setpint was set t 25%, then the humidificatin setpint wuld nt be able t be set any higher than 20%. NOTE: The HU terminal will be energized any time that there is a call fr Humidity. Fr the peratin f the DEHU terminal see pages 8 and KEYPAD LOCK - T prevent unauthrized use f the thermstat, the frnt panel buttns may be disabled. T disable, r lck the keypad, press and hld the buttn. While hlding the buttn, press the UP and DOWN buttns tgether. The icn will appear n the display. all three buttns in the rder utlined abve fr keypad lckut I2 : 00 T unlck the keypad, press and hld the buttn. PrgramOn Night 82 HEAT 62 EORY BACKUP - In the event f a pwer lss, the TSTAT- 0713K will retain the stred prgram settings withut external pwer r batteries. Page 24

26 Advanced Features & Operatin OUTSIDE SENSOR (Optinal Accessry) - When cnnected t t terminals RS+5, RS1, & RS GND n the back f the thermstat, the thermstat will read the temperature frm the utside sensr. This thermstat will nt cntrl t this sensr, it is nly t read utside temperature. T read the temperature frm the utside sensr, press the OUTSIDE buttn. The display will then nly shw utside temperature. ing the OUTSIDE buttn will then return the display t nrmal peratin. The utside sensr is available in a wired r wireless versin. The wired sensr can be cnnected t the thermstat with up t 150 f 18 ga., 300 f 20 ga. r 450 f 22 ga. unshielded, thermstat wire. See the Outside Sensr instructins fr further details. Page 25
