Featuring full sequence autmatic ignitin and fan assisted cmbustin. Due t the high efficiency f the biler, cndensate is prduced frm the flue gases and this is drained t a suitable dispsal pint thrugh a plastic waste pipe at the base f the biler. A cndensate plume will als be visible at the flue terminal. SAFETY urrent Gas Safety (Installatin & Use) Regulatins r rules in frce. In yur wn interest, and that f safety, it is the law that this biler must be installed by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer, in accrdance with the abve regulatins. In IE, the installatin must be carried ut by a Registered Gas Installer (RGII) and installed in accrdance with the current editin f I.S. 813 Dmestic Gas Installatins, the current Building Regulatins and reference shuld be made t the current ETI rules fr electrical installatin. It is essential that the instructins in this bklet are strictly fllwed, fr safe and ecnmical peratin f the biler. ELETRIITY SUPPLY This appliance must be earthed. Supply: 230 V ~ 50 Hz. The fusing shuld be 3A. IMPORTANT NOTES This appliance must nt be perated withut the casing crrectly fitted and frming an adequate seal. If the biler is installed in a cmpartment then the cmpartment MUST NOT be used fr strage purpses. If it is knwn r suspected that a fault exists n the biler then it MUST NOT BE USED until the fault has been crrected by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer r in IE a Registered Gas Installer (RGII). Under NO circumstances shuld any f the sealed cmpnents n this appliance be used incrrectly r tampered with. This appliance can be used by children 8 years and abve. Start the biler as fllws: 1. heck that the electricity supply t biler is ff. 2. Set the mde knb () t BOILER OFF. 3. Set the Dmestic Ht Water temperature knb (A) and entral Heating temperature knb (B) t MAX. 4. Ensure that all ht water taps are turned ff. 5. Switch n electricity t the biler and check that all external cntrls, e.g. prgrammer and rm thermstat, are n. 6. Set the mde knb () t (winter). The biler will cmmence ignitin sequence, supplying heat t the central heating, if required. Nte. In nrmal peratin the biler status display (D) will shw cdes: 00 Standby - n demand fr heat. entral Heating being supplied Dmestic ht water being supplied PH Dmestic ht water preheat FP Biler frst prtectin - biler will fire if temperature is belw 5º. During nrmal peratin the burner n indicatr will remain illuminated when the burner is lit. Nte: If the biler fails t light after five attempts the fault cde will be displayed (refer t Fault de page). OPERATION MODES Winter nditins - (entral Heating and Dmestic Ht Water required) Set the mde knb () (winter). The biler will fire and supply heat t the radiatrs but will give pririty t dmestic ht water n demand. The dmestic ht water preheat will perate with the PREHEAT buttn pressed s that the display shws HOT WATER PREHEAT ON. Summer nditins - (Dmestic Ht Water nly required) Set the mde knb () t (summer). Set the central heating demand n the external cntrls t OFF. The dmestic ht water preheat will perate with the PREHEAT buttn pressed s that the display shws HOT WATER PREHEAT ON. Biler Off Set the mde knb () t BOILER OFF. The biler mains pwer supply must be left n t enable frst prtectin (see Frst Prtectin). User s PREHEAT - DOMESTI HOT WATER The dmestic ht water heat exchanger within the biler can be kept preheated t prvide faster delivery f ht water at the tap. This is achieved by pressing the PREHEAT buttn (F) s that HOT WATER PREHEAT ON is shwn n the display. The biler will perate peridically fr a few secnds t maintain the dmestic ht water heat exchanger in a preheated cnditin. The avera ge time perid between peratin is 90 minutes. This may vary cnsiderably due t the surrunding ambient temperature f the biler. The biler will perate whenever there is a demand fr dmestic ht water. If standard ht water delivery is satisfactry press the PREHEAT buttn (F) s that HOT WATER PREHEAT OFF is shwn n the display. ONTROL OF WATER TEMPERATURE Dmestic Ht Water The dmestic ht water temperature is limited by the biler cntrls t a maximum temperature f 65 º, adjustable via the dmestic ht water temperature knb (A). Apprximate temperatures fr dmestic ht water: Knb Setting Ht Water Temperature (apprx.) Minimum 40º Maximum 65º Due t system variatins and seasnal temperature fluctuatins dmestic ht water flw rates/temperature rise will vary, requiring adjustment at the tap : the lwer the flw rate the higher the temperature, and vice versa. entral Heating The biler cntrls the central heating radiatr temperature t a maximum f 80, adjustable via the central heating temperature knb (B). 4 EFFIIENT HEATING SYSTEM OPERATION The biler is a high efficiency, cndensing appliance which will autmatically adjust its utput t match the demand fr heat. Therefre gas cnsumptin is reduced as the heat demand is reduced. The biler cndenses water frm the flue gases when perating mst efficiently. T perate yur biler efficiently (using less gas) turn the central heating temperature knb (B) t the psitin r lwer. In winter perids it may be necessary t turn the knb twards the MAX psitin t meet heating requirements. This will depend n the huse and radiatrs used. Reducing the rm thermstat setting by 1º can reduce gas cnsumptin by up t 10%. WEATHER OMPENSATION When the Weather mpensatin ptin is fitted t the system then the central heating temperature knb (B) becmes a methd f cntrlling rm temperature. Turn the knb clckwise t increase rm temperature and anti-clckwise t decrease rm temperature. Once the desired setting has been achieved, leave the knb in this psitin and the system will autmatically achieve the desired rm temperature fr all utside weather cnditins. BOILER FROST PROTETION The biler is fitted with frst prtectin that perates in all mdes, prvided the pwer supply t the biler is always turned n. If the water in the biler falls belw 5º, the frst prtectin will activate and run the biler t avid freezing. The prcess des nt guarantee that all ther parts f the system will be prtected. If a system frst thermstat has been installed, the biler must be set in winter mde,, fr the system frst prtectin t run. If n system frst prtectin is prvided and frst is likely during a shrt absence frm hme it is recmmended t leave the system heating cntrls r built in prgrammer (if fitted) switched n and run at a reduced temperature setting. Fr lnger perids, the entire system shuld be drained. BOILER RESTART T restart the biler, when directed in the listed fault cdes (see sectin 8) press the restart buttn (G). The biler will repeat its ignitin sequence. If the biler still fails t start cnsult a Gas Safe Registered Engineer r an IE Registered Gas Installer (RGII). 3. SYSTEM WATER PRESSURE The system pressure gauge indicates the central heating system pressure. If the pressure is seen t fall belw the riginal installatin pressure f 1-2 bar ver a perid f time and cntinue t fall then a water leak may be indicated. In this event re-pressurise the system as shwn belw. If unable t d s r if the pressure cntinues t drp a Gas Safe Registered Engineer r in IE a Registered Gas Installer (RGII) shuld be cnsulted. THE BOILER WILL NOT OPERATE IF THE PRESSURE HAS REDUED TO LESS THAN 0.3 BAR UNDER THIS ONDITION. T Tp up the system :- 1. Ensure bth A & B handles (blue) are in clsed psitin (as shwn belw) 2. Remve the plug and cap and retain. 3. nnect the filling lp t the Dmestic Ht Water (DHW) inlet and tighten. Als ensure that the ther end f filling lp is hand tight. Turn the Dmestic Ht Water (DHW) Inlet A blue handle t the hrizntal psitin. 5. Ensuring n leaks are seen, gradually turn the filling lp handle (blue) B t the hrizntal psitin. 6. Wait fr the pressure gauge t reach 1 t 1.5 bar. 7. Once pressure is reached turn valves A & B back t the clsed psitin. 8. Discnnect the filling lp, replace cap and plug. Nte there can be sme water spillage at this pint. 4 User s

5 4. ONDENSATE DRAIN This appliance is fitted with a siphnic cndensate trap system that reduces the risk f the appliance cndensate frm freezing. Hwever shuld the cndensate pipe t this appliance freeze, please fllw these instructins: a. If yu d nt feel cmpetent t carry ut the defrsting instructins belw please call yur lcal Gas Safe Registered installer fr assistance. b. If yu d feel cmpetent t carry ut the fllwing instructins please d s with care when handling ht utensils. D nt attempt t thaw pipewrk abve grund level. If this appliance develps a blckage in its cndensate pipe, its cndensate will build up t a pint where it will make a gurgling nise prir t lcking ut an L 2 fault cde. If the appliance is restarted it will make a gurgling nise prir t it lcking ut n a failed ignitin L 2 cde. T unblck a frzen cndensate pipe; 1. Fllw the ruting f the plastic pipe frm its exit pint n the appliance, thrugh its rute t its terminatin pint. Lcate the frzen blckage. It is likely that the pipe is frzen at the mst expsed pint external t the building r where there is sme bstructin t flw. This culd be at the pen end f the pipe, at a bend r elbw, r where there is a dip in the pipe in which cndensate can cllect. The lcatin f the blckage shuld be identified as clsely as pssible befre taking further actin. 2. Apply a ht water bttle, micrwaveable heat pack r a warm damp clth t the frzen blckage area. Several applicatins may have t be made befre it fully defrsts. Warm water can als be pured nt the pipe frm a watering can r similar. DO NOT use biling water. 3. autin when using warm water as this may freeze and cause ther lcalised hazards. 4. Once the blckage is remved and the cndensate can flw freely, restart the appliance. (Refer t T Start the biler ) 5. If the appliance fails t ignite, call yur Gas Safe Registered engineer. Preventative slutins During cld weather, set the central heating temperature knb (B) t maximum (must return t riginal setting nce cld spell is ver). Place the heating n cntinuus and turn the rm thermstat dwn t 15º vernight r when unccupied. (Return t nrmal after cld spell). 5. GENERAL INFORMATION BOILER PUMP The biler pump will perate briefly as a self-check nce every 24 hurs, regardless f system demand. MINIMUM LEARANES learance f 165mm abve, 100mm belw, 2.5mm at the sides and 450mm at the frnt f the biler casing must be allwed fr servicing. Bttm learance Bttm clearance after installatin can be reduced t 5mm. This must be btained with an easily remvable panel, t enable the system pressure gauge t be visible and t prvide the 100mm clearance required fr servicing. EXPANSION NOTE. If a water meter is fitted int the incming water mains there may be a requirement fr a dmestic ht water expansin vessel Kit. ntact a Gas Safe Registered Engineer r in IE a Registered Gas Installer (RGII). ESAPE OF GAS Shuld a gas leak r fault be suspected cntact the Natinal Gas Emergency Service withut delay. Telephne Ensure that; - All naked flames are extinguished - D nt perate electrical switches - Open all windws and drs LEANING Fr nrmal cleaning simply dust with a dry clth. T remve stubbrn marks and stains, wipe with a damp clth and finish ff with a dry clth. DO NOT use abrasive cleaning materials. MAINTENANE The appliance shuld be serviced at least nce a year by a Gas Safe Registered Engineer r in IE a Registered Gas Installer (RGII). User s 5
