When clearing smke r steam frm the apartment, DO NOT pen the dr t the hallway as this culd cause a fire alarm t activate in the cmmn area, resulting in a fire brigade call-ut and building evacuatin If the smke/steam is successfully cleared within that time perid, the alarm system will re-set and n further actin is required If there is still residual smke/steam lingering after the 3 minute perid, the fire alarm system will be autmatically activated. If yu hear the Emergency Warning System ALERT tne Be aware - check yur immediate surrundings fr any evidence f a fire BEEP BEEP BEEP If yu d discver smething f cncern (e.g. smke, flames, r unusual burning smell) immediately ring 000 and infrm the Fire Brigade, alert persns nearby and evacuate the area. If nthing unusual is detected, cntinue with nrmal activities, listen fr further annuncements and/r alarms and be prepared t quickly evacuate if the Evacuatin Alarm is subsequently activated WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP + Evacuatin Annuncement If yu hear the Emergency Warning System EVACUATION ALARM Calmly and quickly leave the building via the nearest safe designated emergency escape rute When yu get utside, mve well away frm the building and prceed t the nearest Evacuatin Assembly Pint (indicated n Evacuatin Diagrams within the building) Remain at the Evacuatin Assembly Pint until the All Clear is given by Fire and Rescue persnnel r University Security If yu believe that a cmpanin may still be inside the building, immediately infrm the nearest Fire and Rescue persnnel. 10 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Yur safety is f the utmst imprtance t Baumatic. Please make sure that yu read this instructin bklet befre attempting t install r use the appliance. If yu are unsure f any f the infrmatin cntained in this bklet, please cntact the Advice Line. General Infrmatin This appliance is designed fr dmestic husehld use. It can NOT be used as a freestanding micrwave and must be built in t a standard kitchen cabinet r husing unit (see the sectin entitled Installatin belw). Yu shuld nly perate the appliance when the turntable and turntable supprt are in psitin. Yu shuld nly use venware that is suitable fr being used in a micrwave. T prevent crrsin ccurring due t misture/cndensatin, the cavity and the dr f the micrwave shuld be wiped dry after each use f the appliance. The appliance must nt be left unattended if yu are heating r cking fd in cntainers that are made f paper, plastic r ther flammable materials. If left unattended, they culd pse a fire hazard. If yu ntice smke cming frm the appliance, yu shuld keep the dr f the micrwave clsed and then discnnect it frm yur mains supply. DO NOT use yur micrwave ven, if yu think it is nt perating crrectly. Installatin IMPORTANT: Only the built in/built under installatin sanctined by Baumatic and utlined in this manual shuld be fllwed. A separate building in kit will be supplied with the micrwave, t allw yu t cmplete a built in installatin. IMPORTANT: The adjacent furniture r husing and all materials used in the installatin must be able t withstand a minimum temperature f 85 C abve the ambient temperature f the rm it is lcated in, whilst in use. 6

11 Certain types f vinyl r laminate kitchen furniture are particularly prne t heat damage r discluratin at temperatures belw the guidelines given abve. Any damage caused by the appliance being installed in cntraventin f this temperature limit, r by placing adjacent cabinet materials clser than 4mm t the appliance, will be the liability f the wner. Fr use in leisure accmmdatin vehicles, please refer t the apprpriate infrmatin given in the installatin instructins fr this appliance. 12 Warning and safety instructins This appliance cmplies with all current Australian and Eurpean safety legislatin. Baumatic d wish t emphasise that this cmpliance des nt remve the fact that the appliance surfaces will becme ht during use and retain heat after peratin. DO NOT place anything between the dr and the dr frame. DO NOT stre anything that is flammable inside f the micrwave. When it is switched n, the items culd catch fire. DO NOT switch the appliance n if there is n fd r liquid inside f the micrwave. If yu run the micrwave whilst it is empty, there is a chance that it will verlad. The dr seals and the dr surfaces shuld ALWAYS be kept clean and free frm debris. Child Safety Baumatic strngly recmmend that babies and yung children are prevented frm being near t the appliance and nt allwed t tuch the appliance at any time. If it is necessary fr yunger family members t be in the kitchen, please ensure that they are kept under clse supervisin at all times. IMPORTANT: This appliance shuld nly be perated by adults. Yu SHOULD NOT allw yung children t use the micrwave withut supervisin. Older children shuld nly perate the appliance if they have been thrughly instructed n hw t use the micrwave and the cnsequences f imprper usage. Cleaning Cleaning f the ven shuld be carried ut n a regular basis. Great care shuld be taken whilst using this appliance and when fllwing the cleaning prcedure. IMPORTANT: The appliance must be discnnected frm the mains befre fllwing the cleaning prcedure. Installatin This appliance must be crrectly installed by a suitably qualified persn, strictly in accrdance with the manufacturer s instructins. NOTE: Adequate ventilatin within the installatin cavity is essential t maintain temperatures within permissible levels. Any fault attributed t inadequate ventilatin may nt be cvered by warranty. Glass tray The glass tray and turntable ring assembly MUST always be used during cking. 18 LED display The LED display will shw the time f day, r if the micrwave is in use, it will shw the cking time. Indicates that micrwave cking is taking place. Indicates that cnvectin cking is taking place. Indicates that grilling is taking place. Indicates that defrsting is taking place. Indicates that the safety lck is engaged. Indicates that the aut menu functin has been selected. Indicates that grams are shwn n the LED display. Indicates that the temperature (in centigrade) is shwn n the LED display. WARNING: The accessible surface may be ht during peratin and fr a perid f time afterwards. 14

19 Using yur micrwave The adjustment dial The adjustment dial (E) shuld nly be turned clckwise (twards the bk symbl) if yu want t use the aut menu functin. Fr all ther purpses and settings, the adjustment dial (E) shuld be turned anti-clckwise (twards the clck symbl). Setting the clck When yur appliance is cnnected t the pwer supply fr the first time, the LED display (A) will shw 0:00 and an audible signal will sund nce. Press the clck/kitchen timer buttn (G) t enter the clck setting mde. Use the adjustment dial (E) t adjust the hur time. Yu can adjust the hur time between 0 23 in 24 hur clck mde. Press the clck/kitchen timer buttn (G) t cnfirm the hur time. The minute digits will flash. Turn the adjustment dial (E) t adjust the minute time. Press the clck/kitchen timer buttn (G) t cnfirm the minute time. The : symbl will flash and the time f day will light n the LED display (A). If during the clck setting prcess the stp/clear buttn (C) is pressed, the micrwave will return t the previus step. Befre first use T remve any residue frm the ven that may have been left frm the manufacturing prcess, yu shuld place a cup that is half filled with water in the micrwave. Set the micrwave n its highest pwer level fr 2 minutes. The ven cavity and utside f the appliance shuld be cleaned with warm sapy water, using either a spnge r sft clth. N abrasive cleaners shuld be used. The appliance shuld be thrughly dried afterwards. 15

20 Micrwave cking Once the clck has been set, yur micrwave is then ready t use. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. Check that the turntable shaft, turntable ring assembly and glass tray are crrectly assembled in the cavity. Place whatever yu are cking in the centre f the micrwave cavity and then clse the micrwave dr. IMPORTANT: Yu shuld make sure that the dr f the micrwave is shut securely. Press the micrwave buttn (I) nce and the LED display (A) will shw P100, indicating that the appliance will ck at its highest pwer level. T adjust the pwer level, turn the adjustment dial (E) r keep pressing the micrwave buttn (I). P100, P80, P50, P30 r P10 will appear n the LED display Once the pwer level that yu require appears n the LED display (A), press the cnfirm buttn (D). Turn the adjustment dial (E) t set the cking time that yu require. The maximum cking time that yu can set is 95 minutes. Press the start buttn (D) and yur micrwave will start t heat. If yu have set the incrrect pwer level r time, press the stp/clear buttn (C) and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. At the end f the cking time, yur micrwave will give an audible signal and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. IMPORTANT: The inside f the micrwave and the fd that yu have been cking may be extremely ht. S care shuld be taken when remving items frm the micrwave. We wuld recmmend that yu use an ven glve. After the fd has been remved frm the micrwave, yu shuld make sure that the dr is clsed. 16

21 + 30 secnd buttn (Quick start) If yu want t ck n the highest pwer level setting fr a perid f time, then yu can use the +30 secnd buttn (D). Press the +30 secnd buttn (D) nce and yur micrwave will perate n full pwer fr 30 secnds. Each time yu press the +30 secnd buttn (D) the cking time will increase by 30 secnds. If a micrwave, grill r cmbinatin cking prgram is in prcess, pressing the +30 secnd buttn will extend the cking time by 30 secnds. IMPORANT: Yu cannt use the quick start feature in defrst and aut menu mdes r if yu have set multiple cking phases. Alternatively yu can just turn the adjustment dial (E) left and select the cking time, then press the start buttn (D). The micrwave will ck n the highest pwer level setting fr the perid f time that yu have set. 22 Grill cking Press the grill buttn (I) nce and the LED display (A) will shw P100. Turn the adjustment dial (E) r keep pressing the grill buttn (I) until G-1 appears n the LED display. Once G-1 appears n the LED display (A), press the cnfirm buttn (D). Turn the adjustment dial (E) t set the cking time that yu require. The maximum cking time that yu can set is 95 minutes. Press the start buttn (D) and yur micrwave will start t grill. If yu have set the incrrect pwer level r time, press the stp/clear buttn (C) and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Halfway thrugh the cking time, an audible signal will sund. T achieve even grilling results, yu shuld pen the dr f the micrwave and turn the fd ver. After clsing the dr, yu shuld press the start buttn (D) and the micrwave will cntinue t grill. At the end f the cking time, yur micrwave will give an audible signal and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. IMPORTANT: The inside f the micrwave and the fd that yu have been cking may be extremely ht. S care shuld be taken when remving items frm the micrwave. We wuld recmmend that yu use an ven glve. Once the cmbinatin mde that yu require appears n the LED display (A), press the cnfirm buttn (D). Turn the adjustment dial (E) t set the cking time that yu require. The maximum cking time that yu can set is 95 minutes. Press the start buttn (D) and yur micrwave will start t ck. If yu have set the incrrect cmbinatin mde r time, press the stp/clear buttn (C) and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. 24 Cnvectin cking Cnvectin cking allws yu t perate yur micrwave like a traditinal ven. The appliance des nt use micrwaves t ck the fd and the cavity shuld be preheated befre fd is placed inside f it. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. Place whatever yu are cking in the centre f the micrwave cavity and then clse the micrwave dr. IMPORTANT: Yu shuld make sure that the dr f the micrwave is shut securely. Press the cnvectin buttn (B) nce and the LED display will shw 140. Turn the adjustment dial (E) r keep pressing the cnvectin buttn t set the temperature. The cking temperature can be adjusted between 140 C and 230 C. Once the temperature that yu require appears n the LED display (A), press the cnfirm buttn (D). Turn the adjustment dial (E) t set the cking time that yu require. The maximum cking time that yu can set is 95 minutes. Press the start buttn (D) and yur micrwave will start t ck. If yu have set the incrrect cking time r temperature, press the stp/clear buttn (C) and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Cnvectin cking (with autmatic pre-heating) The dr f the micrwave shuld be shut befre the steps belw are fllwed. Press the cnvectin buttn (B) nce and the LED display will shw 140. Turn the adjustment dial (E) r keep pressing the cnvectin buttn t set the temperature. The cking temperature can be adjusted between 140 C and 230 C. Once the temperature that yu require appears n the LED display (A), press the cnfirm buttn (D). 20

25 Press the start buttn (D) and the micrwave will start t preheat the ven cavity t the temperature that yu have selected. Once the required temperature inside the ven cavity has been reached, an audible signal will sund twice and the LED display will flash. IMPORTANT: If after 30 minutes the pre-heating temperature has nt been reached, the audible signal will sund twice. At this pint yu shuld input the cking time that yu require. Yu cannt set the cking time until pre-heating has finished. If a cking time is nt set within 5 minutes after pre-heating is cmplete, the ven will stp heating and an audible signal will sund five times. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. Place whatever yu are cking in the centre f the micrwave cavity and then clse the micrwave dr. IMPORTANT: Yu shuld make sure that the dr f the micrwave is shut securely. Yu cannt set the cking time until the dr f the micrwave has been pened and clsed again. Turn the adjustment dial (E) t set the cking time that yu require. The maximum cking time that yu can set is 95 minutes. Press the start buttn (D) and yur micrwave will start t ck. If yu have set the incrrect cking time r temperature, press the stp/clear buttn (C) and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Interrupting a cking cycle If yu wish t temprarily interrupt a cking cycle when it is in prgress (fr example t stir what yu are heating), yu shuld press the dr buttn (F). The dr f the micrwave will pen and it will stp heating immediately. T restart the cking cycle, clse the micrwave dr and then press the start buttn (D). 21

26 Cancelling a cking cycle If yu wish t cancel a cking cycle when it is in prgress, yu shuld press the stp/clear buttn (C). The micrwave will stp heating immediately, give an audible signal and the LED display (A) will return t shwing the time f day. Use the dr buttn (F) t pen the dr f the micrwave. IMPORTANT: The inside f the micrwave and the fd that yu have been cking may be extremely ht. S care shuld be taken when remving items frm the micrwave. After the fd has been remved frm the micrwave, yu shuld make sure that the dr is clsed. Enquiry mde Whilst the micrwave is in use, the LED display (A) will cuntdwn the cking time that yu have set. 28 The kitchen timer The kitchen timer will cuntdwn a set time and a buzzer will sund when the required time is reached. The kitchen timer is t be used separately frm the micrwave functins and cannt be used at the same time. IMPORTANT: Yu must make sure that the clck is set t the crrect time befre using this feature. Press the clck/kitchen timer buttn (G) twice and the LED display will shw 00:00. Use the adjustment dial (E) t set the desired cuntdwn time. The maximum prgrammable time is 95 minutes. 30 Safety lck When the micrwave is nt heating, it is pssible t switch n the safety lck. Press and hld dwn the stp/clear buttn (C) fr 3 secnds. The micrwave will emit a lng audible signal and the LED display (A) will display a padlck symbl. Until the safety lck is switched ff, all buttns n the micrwave will be disabled. T switch ff the safety lck, press and hld dwn the stp/clear buttn (C) fr 3 secnds. The micrwave will emit a lng audible signal and the padlck symbl will disappear frm the LED display (A). Micrwave cking guidelines If yu are heating liquid in the micrwave, then yu must als place a teaspn in the cntainer. This will ensure that the liquid des nt bil suddenly after being remved frm the micrwave cavity. This phenmenn is called delayed biling, this means that a liquid can be clse t biling pint, even if there is n steam cming ff the liquid r the liquid is nt bubbling. If the liquid cntainer is even gently shaken, then the liquid can withut warning bil ver r even spurt. This culd scald the end user. If the fd yu are cking has a skin r peel (e.g. sausages, tmates, ptates etc), then yu shuld pierce the skin r peel with a frk. This will ensure that if steam is created during the heating prcess, it can escape and the fd will nt burst. When heating baby fd, the bttle r jar cntaining the fd shuld NEVER have a tp r lid n. After cking, t ensure that the fd has been heated unifrmly, yu shuld stir r shake the fd. IMPORTANT: Yu must check the temperature f the fd befre feeding it t a child. When heating fd in a micrwave, it will transmit the heat t the cntainer that the fd is in r n. Yu shuld ALWAYS use ven glves when remving items frm the micrwave. Yu shuld make sure that yu d nt ck fd fr t lng r at t high a pwer level. This culd cause certain areas f the fd t dry ut r even ignite. 26

If yu are heating certain fds and any liquid, misture will evaprate and cndensatin may ccur. This des nt indicate that the appliance is faulty and it can be particularly nticeable if the ambient temperature f the rm is high. Ensure that the rear panel f the furniture husing unit has been remved. This ven may be installed withut any additinal ventilatin cut uts being made in the husing unit. 37 Built under installatin requirements IMPORTANT: NO OTHER METHODS OF BUILDING UNDER THE MICROWAVE ARE SANCTIONED BY BAUMATIC. The rear wall f the husing unit MUST be remved t allw there t be the crrect amunt f ventilatin. The minimum installatin height is 850 mm t allw sufficient ventilatin. An inductin hb MUST NOT be fitted abve the micrwave. WARNING: The micrwave will get ht during peratin; care shuld be taken nt t accidentally cme int cntact with the uter surface. 38 Preparing the husing unit 1 Yur appliance will be supplied with an installatin template, which yu shuld fllw when preparing the husing unit. Place the template n the base f the husing unit and tape it int psitin. IMPORTANT: The edge f template must be cmpletely level with the frnt edge f the husing unit. IMPORTANT: The centre line n the template MUST be psitined in the middle f the husing unit. Yu shuld make marks n the base f the husing unit, in the psitins marked with the letter a n the template. Fr the next step in the preparing the husing unit prcess, yu will require 10 x screw A and the bttm brackets. 34

39 Remve the template frm the base f the husing unit. Fix the bttm brackets t the base f the husing unit, using screw A. IMPORTANT: These screws must be fully tightened. Installing the ven int a husing unit Fit adjustment screw B int the adjustment screw-hle n the tp f the micrwave. Adjustment screw B shuld nt be fully tightened at this stage. 35

40 Place the micrwave int the husing unit. IMPORTANT: D nt push the micrwave fully int the husing unit, as yu still need t be able t access adjustment screw B at this stage f the installatin. IMPORTANT: Make sure that the ven feet are sitting crrectly in the grves n the bttm brackets. Turn adjustment screw B, ensuring that there is a 1 mm gap between adjustment screw B and the underneath f the tp surface f the husing unit. Push the micrwave fully int the husing unit. IMPORTANT: Care shuld be taken t ensure that yu d nt trap r kink the pwer crd. Open the micrwave dr and lcate screw-hle C. Use screw C t fix the micrwave ven t the husing unit. 36

41 Trubleshting The micrwave will nt switch n. * Check that the appliance has been cnnected t the mains supply crrectly. * Check that the fuse in the mulded plug has nt blwn. * If fuses blw n a regular basis, then we wuld recmmend that yu cnsult with a qualified electrician. * Check that there has nt been a pwer cut. CAUTIONS // The ceramic cker hb must be installed by qualified persnnel r technicians. We have prfessinals at yur service. Please never cnduct the peratin by yurself. The ceramic cker hb shall nt be munted t cling equipment, dishwashers and rtary dryers. The ceramic cker hb shall be installed such that better heat radiatin can be ensured t enhance its reliability. Adjust the pwer regulating cntrl t the desired level t turn n the cntrl HOT HOB WARNING INDICATOR When the glass plate is ht, the ht hb warning indicatr will light. Dn t tuch the glass plate until the indicatr ges ut. It can als be used as an energy saving functin if yu want t heat further pans, use the htplate that is still ht. 55 MAINTAINING YOUR COOKTOP CLEANING & CARE ISSUE? SOLUTION IMPORTANT Everyday siling n glass (fingerprints, marks, stains left by fd r nn-sugary spillvers n the glass) 1. Switch the pwer t the cktp ff. 2. Apply a cktp cleaner while the glass is still warm (but nt ht!) 3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean clth r paper twel. 4. Switch the pwer t the cktp back n. When the pwer t the cktp is switched ff, there will be n ht surface indicatin but the cking zne may still be ht! Take extreme care. Heavy-duty scurers, sme nyln scurers and harsh/abrasive cleaning agents may scratch the glass. Always read the label t check if yur cleaner r scurer is suitable. Never leave cleaning residue n the cktp: the glass may becme stained. Bilvers, melts, and ht sugary spills n the glass Remve these immediately with a fish slice, palette knife r razr blade scraper suitable fr ceramic glass cktps, but beware f ht cking zne surfaces: 1. Switch the pwer t the cktp ff at the wall. 2. Hld the blade r utensil at a 30 angle and scrape the siling r spill t a cl area f the cktp. 3. Clean the siling r spill up with a dish clth r paper twel. 4. Fllw steps 2 t 4 fr Everyday siling n glass abve. Remve stains left by melts and sugary fd r spillvers as sn as pssible.
