If the cutting blades becme jammed stp the machine befre attempting t free the blades. Always keep fingers clear f blades. D nt allw bystanders within 10 meters f yur wn psitin. Wear hearing prtectin, e.g. earplugs r ear muffs. Clear away any fallen branches, scrub and cuttings. Watch ut fr bstacles such as rts and tree stumps which culd cause yu t trip r stumble. Make sure yu always have gd balance and secure fting. If dust levels are very high, wear a suitable face mask r respiratr. Wear UV PPE Clthing, Hats, Sun glasses, Sunscreen Always turn ff the engine. Always fit the blade guard (scabbard) befre carrying yur hedge trimmer shrt distances. Carry the pwer tl by the handle with the cutting blades behind yu. Avid tuching ht parts f the machine, especially the muffler and gear husing yu culd suffer serius burns. In vehicles: Prperly secure yur pwer tl t prevent turnver, fuel spillage and damage. 4 Persnal prtective equipment (PPE) required: Pre peratinal checks: 1. D nt perate hedge trimmer unless yu have been prperly trained. 2. Visually inspect hedge trimmer befre use. Check that the trimmer is in gd perating rder. Make sure blades are sharp, lubricated and mve freely. Check the mtr runs smthly, the aut-switch mechanism is wrking crrectly and that safety guards are in place. 3. Perfrm any prestart checks as described in the prduct manual. 5 Safe peratin prcedures: 1. Ensure yu PPE is wrn at ALL times. 2. Maintain hedges belw shulder level t avid verhead r ladder wrk. 3. Identify areas f uneven grund and take extra care with fting t avid slip/trips/falls. D nt wrk n slippery, wet, uneven r unstable surfaces. 4. Inspect the wrk area and remve freign bjects, check fr electrical wires, garden stakes, water pipes, etc. Take care arund spikey/thrny plants and plants with irritating sap. Manage insect pests apprpriately (spiders, wasps, ants etc.). 5. Ensure activity will nt pse a threat t yurself, ther peple, surrunding buildings, vehicles and/r animals. 6. Plan regular rest breaks. Alternate tasks t reduce muscle fatigue and maintain cncentratin. 7. Always maintain tw hands n trimmer when in use. 8. Allw the engine t cl befre attempting t refuel. 9. Once the unit is cl, clean dwn and check unit befre returning t strage.
