A thermal limiter switch autmatically turns ff the dryer mtr in the unlikely event f an verheated situatin (electric dryers nly). A service technician must replace the thermal limiter switch after crrecting the fault. The washer is equipped with an electrical verlad prtectr. The mtr will stp if it becmes verheated The washer will autmatically restart after a cl dwn perid f up t 30 minutes, if the washer has nt been manually turned ff during this time. 5 Washing Prcedures Fllw the guidelines belw fr preparing the wash lad. Read the Washer Operating Instructins fr perating yur specific mdel. Always read and fllw fabric care and laundry prduct labels. T reduce the risk f fire, electrical shck, r injury t persns, read Imprtant Safety Instructins befre perating this washer. Srt laundry int lads that can be washed tgether. I. Srt laundry int lads that can be washed tgether. Srt items by recmmended water temperatures, wash time, and agitate/ spin speeds. Separate white, light, and clrfast items frm dark and nnclrfast items. Separate itemswhich shed lint frm items which attract lint. Permanent press, synthetic, knit and crdury items will pick up lint frm twels, rugs and chenille bedspreads. Separate heavily siled items frm lightly siled items. Separate lacy, sheer and lsely knit items frm sturdy items. Empty pckets.. Prepare items fr washing. Empty pckets. Brush ff lint and dirt. Shake ut rugs and beach twels. Clse zippers, fasten hks, tie strings and sashes, and remve nnwashable trims and rnaments. Remve pins, decrative buttns, belt buckles, and ther bjects which culd be damaged. This als helps prtect ther items in the wash lad. Mend rips and tears t prevent further damage during washing. Place delicate items such as bras, shulder pads, hsiery, and belts in a mesh bag t prevent tangling during the wash cycle. Turn knit items inside ut t prevent pilling. 3. Pretreat stains and heavy sil. See Stain Remval fr details. Place delicate items in a mesh bag. 4. Add a measured amunt f detergent t the wash tub befre adding the laundry lad. Fllw detergent manufacturer's directins. The amunt required depends n type f detergent, lad size and sil level, and water hardness. 5. If desired, add liquid bleach t Bleach Dispenser (sme mdels). Befre adding the wash lad, add liquid bleach t bleach dispenser lcated in left frnt crner under the lid: 3/4cup(180 ml) fr small lads 1 cup (240 ml) fr large lads 1-1/4 cups (300 ml) fr extra-large lads. Then add 1 cup (240 ml) water t flush the dispenser. D nt use pwdered bleach in the bleach dispenser. Bleach Dispenser (sme mdels) Fr mdels withut a bleach dispenser, dilute the recmmended amunt f liquid chlrine bleach in 1 quart (.95 L) water. Add it t wash water after a few minutes f agitatin. Dry lad level shuld nt be higher than the tp f agitatr vanes. D nt verlad the washer. D nt put items n tp f agitatr r wrap them arund it. Lad items evenly. Cmbine large and small items in a lad. Lad large items first. Large items shuld nt be mre than half the ttal wash lad. When washing a single heavy item, add 1 r 2 twels t balance the lad. 7. If desired, add liquid fabric sftener t Fabric Sftener Dispenser (available n sme mdels). Fr mdels with a built-in dispenser (see picture t the left): 1. Add liquid sftener t the dispenser, fllwing fabric sftener label directins. 2. Add water t bring liquid level t fill line n dispenser cap. 3. Remve the dispenser frm the agitatr after each use. Rinse bth cap and cup with warm water. Replace dispenser in the agitatr. NOTE: T separate cap frm cup, put thumb int dispenser and push against side f cup (see picture t the left). After cleaning, push cap and cup firmly tgether. Replace dispenser by lining up the ribs and grves and snapping it int psitin. If fabric sftener builds up in r arund the dispenser, clean the area with ht water. DO NOT REMOVE SERVICE CAP FOUND INSIDE THE AGITATOR POST. Built-InFabricSftener Dispenser (smemdels) 8. Fr mdels withut a fabric sftener dispenser, fllw fabric sftener label directins. Add diluted fabric sftener t the final rinse. D ntpur fabric sftener directly n the wash lad. Select cycle and settings accrding t type, size, and sil level f each lad See Operating Instructins fr yur specific mdel cntrls. DO NOT REMOVE SERVICE CAP INSIDE THE AGITATOR POST. 1 Start the washer. Clse the washer lid and pull ut the cycle selectr knb. The washer will nt agitate r spin with the lid pen. * T stp the washer, push in the cycle selectr knb. * T change a cycle, push in the cycle selectr knb. Turn it clckwise t the desired setting. Pull ut the knb t restart the washer. Safety Lid Lck 10. Remve items when the cycle is cmpleted. Fr yur safety, the lid lcks when the tub is spinning. It will remain lcked fr 2-3 minutes after the tub stps spinning. T pen the lid during a spin, push in the cycle selectr knb and wait abut 2-3 minutes fr the lid lck t release. D nt frce pen the lcked lid. Place washed items in autmatic dryer, line dry, r dry flat as directed by fabric care label. Prepare items fr drying. Dry items f similar fabric, weight and cnstructin in the same lad. Separate dark items frm light-clred items. Separate items that shed lint frm thse that attract lint. If an item sheds lint, turn it inside ut. Fllw fabric care label instructins. Besure buckles, buttnsandtrim are heatprf and wn't damagethe drum finish. Clsezippers, fasten hks and Velcr -Iike fasteners. Tie strings and sashest prevent snagging and tangling. If pssible, turn pckets inside ut fr even drying. Chck fr stains which may nt have been remved in washing. Dryer heat may permanently set sme stains. Repeat stain remval prcess befre drying. Place small items in a mesh bag t prevent tangling and fr easy remval..%i:i 2. Check that lint screen is clean and in place. 3. Lad the dryer. The average lad will fill the drum I/3t 1/2 full. Items need rm t tumble freely fr even drying and lesswrinkling. D nt verlad dryer. When drying large items, dry nly 2 r 3 at atime. Fillut the lad with small and medium sized items. Place small items in a mesh bag. Fr delicate r very small lads, add 2 lint-free twels fr better drying, less wrinkling, and t prevent grease stains caused by fabric sftener sheets. D nt verdry items. Overdrying can causewrinkling, shrinkage, harshness, and a build-up f static electricity, which can prduce mre lint. If desired, add a dryer fabric sftener sheet. 4. Clse the dryer dr and set dryer cntrls (sme mdels). SeeDryer Operating Instructins card fr yu r specific mdel cntrls. J 5. Select cycle and settings accrding t type f lad, level f dryness and/r ptins desired. 6. start the dryer. - _ Turn Start cntrl clckwise t ON. Hld fr 1-2 secnds and release. T add r remve items when the dryer isrunning, pen the dr. The dryer will always stp when the dr ispened. Fill dryer drum 1/3 t 1/2 full. Allw the drum t cme t a cmplete stp befre reaching inside. 7. When the cycle ends, remve items immediately and hang r fld. If lad is remved befre the cycle ends, turn cycle selectr t OFF.
