3 GENERAL INFORMATION Nrmal Operatin Range The achieved fan perfrmances can differ frm the test perfrmances shwn n the subsequent due t tw main effects:- A.) The encrachment f irregular r abrupt changes within the system clse t the fan. If gd design practice is fllwed, then the fan will receive nearly unifrm air int its inlet and discharge its air flw in an almst ideal pattern. If this is achieved the fan will perfrm t its expected level. B.) Changes t the internal elements f the fan: e.g. large junctin bxes n mtrs, belt drive stacks r excessive blade tip clearances. Tests were cnducted t assess these effects and the generalised impact is shwn belw fr fan selectins made within the nrmal perating regin ver a wide blade-angle range. Type f installatin The main difference between the belw Standards, is the installatin Types A, B, C and D such that, if a fan unit is designed Massive Fan Industries Sdn. Bhd. certifies that the Axial Flw Fan-MSA series shwn herein are licensed t bear the AMCA Seal. The ratings shwn are based n tests and prcedures perfrmed in accrdance with AMCA Publicatin 211 and AMCA Publicatin 311 and cmply with the requirements f the AMCA Certified Ratings Prgram. fr use in any ne f the arrangements, the variatin in perfrmance shuld be established and shwn. 4 Frms f Running The main series f test were cnducted n Frm B units and cmparative tests were carried ut n Frm A units. Windmilling Lsses It is smetimes necessary t have tw fans in series s as t ffer a run and standby capability. In such a cnditin the windmilling (r nn energised fan/mtr unit) creates a relative pressure lss which is a functin f its blade angle. 5 Multi-Stage Axial Flw Fan A tw stage fan will develp apprximately tw times the pressure f a single-stage fan f equal diameter and speed. This is an ecnmical system because the cmpnent stages are standard fans independently driven by standard mtrs. A tw-stage cntra-ratating fan cmprises assembling in series tw (r mre single-stage) nn-guide-vane fans with impellers rtating in ppsite directin. The cntra-rtatin f the impellers recvers rtatinal lsses and cnverts the rtatinal energy int fan pressure. 6 M.S AXIAL FANS PRODUCT RANGE Direct-Drive MSA Series These fans are nrmally with shrt r lng casing. The mtr leads (prtected by a flexible cnduit) are taken t a weather-prf terminal bx which is welded t the fan casing. Glass Reinfrced Nyln Impeller Massive Fan GRN blades the latest design fr excellent perfrmance which cmprmised with safe perating temperature range frm -4 C t 1 C, higher strength and stiffness t accept high speed. GRN blades are frmulated t resist creep and fatigue under mechanical stress and lad. Glass Reinfrced Plyprpylene Impeller Glass Reinfrced Plyprpylene fan (GRP) blades resist chemical attack & staining and are unaffected by aqueus slutins f inrganics salts r mineral acids alkali and gases, such as Chlrinated hydr-carbn, ketnes, armatic and Alchls. A limited heat resistance frm temperature -4 C t 7 C, but heat-stabilized grades are available fr applicatins requiring prlnged use at elevated temperature. Aluminium Massive fan aluminium fan blades have greater strength, suitable fr higher fan tip speed up t 1m/sec, and temperature up t 2 C cntinuus peratins. Prven fr use in emergency smke spill peratin and ther nn crrsive fume extractin. 4
