WARNING: The installer/user is respnsible fr ensuring that the DC pwer system is nt damaged by current surges, ver-vltages, etc. caused by external transients, lightning, electrstatic discharge, etc. T avid damage and btain the expected system reliability, it is mandatry t always install SPDs in Eltek s pwer supply systems. When installed in utdr enclsures, it is imprtant t keep the dr clsed during peratin, and replace the filters n a regular basis. Indr installatins in dusty r humid areas require apprpriate air filtering f the rm, r filtering f the air entering the DC pwer system. Ntice that yu must lg in t access Online Help (cntact yur Eltek representative) System Diagram Flatpack2 Pwer System w/sp2 The generic Smartpack2 (SP2) distributed cntrl system used in Flatpack2 PS systems mnitrs and cntrls the whle system, and cnsists f the Smartpack2 Master (SP2M) cntrller, the Smartpack2 Basic (SP2B) cntrller and the I/O Mnitr2 CAN nde. The Smartpack2 Master serves as the lcal user interface between yu and the system. The system may als be cnfigured via the Cntrller s Web-based User Interface (CWUI) n a standard web brwser, and via the PwerSuite PC applicatin. The Smartpack2 Master Cntrller The Smartpack2 Master cntrllers are pwerful mdules used as master cntrllers in the distributed cntrl system f Smartpack2-based pwer supply systems. They serve as the lcal user interface between yu and the pwer system. The Smartpack2 Master cntrller is 2U high and 160mm wide, and it is munted in the pwer system s frnt panel r dr. The CAN bus is the nly cnnectin between the Smartpack2 Master and the Smartpack2 Basic cntrller, which prvides great installatin flexibility. Opening and Clsing Smartpack2 Master Cntrller Opening the cntrller s right side enables inserting an SD card and temprarily cnnecting an Ethernet cable. 1. 8 2 The Smartpack2 Master Cntrller CAN Bus Terminatin T ensure a crrect bus cmmunicatin and avid data reflectin, yu must always terminate the CAN bus with tw 120 resistrs, ne at each end f the line (60 bus impedance). Smartpack2-based DC pwer systems are shipped frm factry with the CAN bus already terminated with 120 resistrs. The CAN bus terminatin is implemented with a special RJ45 plug with built-in 120 end-f-line resistr. CAN Bus Cabling In additin t the tw dedicated wires fr cmmunicatin, the CAN bus multi-wire cable must integrate wires fr the CAN pwer supply and ther signals. In standard industrial envirnments, the CAN bus can use standard cabling withut shielding r twisted pair wiring. 11 2 The Smartpack2 Master Cntrller Cntrller Access Via Stand-alne PC Yu can access the Smartpack2 Master cntrller directly frm a stand-alne cmputer, r via a Lcal Area Netwrk (LAN) if available. Each cntrller is shipped with a unique Eltek MAC address stred inside the cntrller and marked n the cntrller s label, and with the fixed IP address < >. Find the cmputer NIC s IP address and subnet mask (netwrk card) Tip: using DOS cmmand IPCONFIG, in a Cmmand Prmpt windw e.g. cmputer s IP address < > Subnet mask < > 4. Change the cntrller s IP address and Netwrk Mask t be the same range as the cmputer s Tip: Using the ENU prgram, 1. Select the cntrller, 2. Click in the Cnfiguratin buttn 3. 13 2 The Smartpack2 Master Cntrller Firmware Upgrade Cntrller Upgrade f the Smartpack2 Master cntrller s firmware, while the system is live, is perfrmed either via the cntrller s Ethernet prt -- using the Eltek Netwrk Utility prgram (ENU) r via the cntrller s SD card. Upgrading the firmware des nt delete r change any f the cnfiguratin and calibratin values stred in the cntrllers. Yu can upgrade the Smartpack2 Master cntrller s firmware using ne f the fllwing tw methds. Firmware Upgrade frm the SD Card The Smartpack2 Master cntrller s firmware can be upgraded via the cntrller s SD card. Flash Memry Strage Yu can stre files in the Smartpack S cntrller s embedded Flash Memry (data strage device) and use them fr firmware upgrading f cntrllers and cntrl units, as well as fr strage f lgs, language cdes, and fr exprting & imprting cnfiguratin files. FTP Client The files stred in the cntrller s Flash memry are als accessible frm a cmputer, via the FTP client embedded in the cntrller s web-based user interface. An external FTP client, such as e.g. FileZilla (freeware) running n a cmputer cnnected t the cntrller s Ethernet prt can als be used t access the files n the cntrller s embedded Flash memry WARNING: It is nt recmmended t use the FTP client embedded in Windws Explrer. 23 3 Abut Pwer System Cnfiguratin Alarm Mnitrs Alarm mnitrs are sftware mdules used by the system cntrller t measure system internal and external input signals r lgical states. When an alarm mnitr is enabled, it cmpares the measured parameter with the preprgramed values r limits, and raises an alarm in the event f the measured parameter reaching ne f the limits. When this event ccurs, the alarm mnitr stres the event in the Event Lg, initiates an internal actin and activates an utput grup. Internal preprgrammed actins may be battery current limiting, bst inhibiting r similar. The generated alarm activates a preprgrammed grup f relay utputs (an alarm utput grup, AOG). Alarm is raised Majr High Limit Input Signal Time delay Hysteresis t Fr example: A MajrHigh Limit is set t 57.00VDC, with a Hysteresis f 0.10VDC and a Time delay f 5 secnds. An input signal f 57.08VDC lasting 3 secnds will nt cause the alarm mnitr t raise an alarm. The alarm will nly be generated when the input signal is ver 57.00VDC fr a lnger perid f time than 5 secnds (the Time delay). The alarm will nly be switched ff when the input signal is lwer than 56.90VDC (the hysteresis). Mnitred Limits and Events Analgue and numeric alarm mnitrs cmpare the measured input with frm ne t fur user-defined values r limits; tw abve nrmal value (Majr High and Minr High) and tw belw nrmal value (Minr Lw and Majr Lw). The type and number f internal actins (events) are usually defined frm factry. Lgical alarm mnitrs nly cmpare the measured input signal with a lgical state (nrmally pen r clsed). The user can define the alarm grup that the mnitr will activate when the input signal is nt in the nrmal state. Alarm utput grups Fr each value r limit, yu can select which alarm utput grup (AOG) the alarm mnitr will activate, in the event the measured input reaches the specific limit Measured Average Value The alarm mnitr stres all input signal measurements and perfrms average calculatins every minute. Then, the mnitr cntinuusly displays the input signal average value, and the perid f time the input signal has been measured. Yu can restart the mnitr s average calculatins. Measured Peak Value The alarm mnitr stres all input signal measurements. Then, the mnitr cntinuusly displays the input signal peak value, since the measurements started. 28 3 Abut Pwer System Cnfiguratin (a) Manual Reset The DC pwer system can be cnfigured with autmatic r manual alarm reset. When Manual Alarm Reset is enabled -- and the alarm cnditin n lnger exists -- the peratr must reset the alarm manually, via the pwer systems user interface (web GUI r cntrller s frnt keys). When the Manual Alarm Reset is disabled, then the Autmatic Alarm Reset is enabled (default). In this case, when an alarm cnditin n lnger exists, the main cntrller will autmatically reset the alarm, by deactivating the alarm lamps and relays t indicate that nrmal peratin is established. (b) Hysteresis and Time Delay Read als tpic Alarm Mnitrs n page 23 (c) Mains Independent Check this ptin if yu want that the LVD alarm mnitr will recnnect the LVD cntactr when the rectifier system utput vltage reaches the Recnnect Vltage limit, regardless whether Mains is ON r OFF. Fr example, this is pssible using an additinal primary supply. Uncheck this ptin (Mains dependent) if yu want that the LVD alarm mnitr will NOT recnnect the LVD cntactr until Mains is ON again. (d) Temperature Dependent Used with LVD cntactrs that discnnect the battery bank (LVBD). Check this ptin if yu want that the LVD alarm mnitr will recnnect the LVBD cntactr when the battery temperature is lwer than the temperature limit cnfigured in the BatteryTemp alarm mnitr. (e) Discnnect Vltage Enter a numeric value fr the battery vltage drp-dwn limit. When -- after a Mains failure -- the battery vltage gradually drps dwn t this limit; then the alarm mnitr raises the alarm and trips the LVD cntactr. (f) Recnnect Vltage Enter a numeric value fr the battery vltage recnnectin limit. When the Mains supply is ON again, the rectifier system utput vltage increases t this limit; then the alarm mnitr will recnnect the LVD cntactr. (g) Delay Time after Discnnect Enter the Time delay r number f secnds the LVD cntactr has t be tripped r discnnected, befre the alarm mnitr is allwed t recnnect the LVD cntactr Alarm Output Grups An Alarm Output Grup (AOG) is a user defined sftware assignment that cnsists f gruping tgether all the utputs that always are activated at the same time. Typically, alarm utput grups 8 thrugh 18 are listed as Alarm Grup 8, Alarm Grup 9 t Alarm Grup 18, but they have n alarm relay utputs assigned. The Output Test cmmand will tggle the alarm relay cntacts -- regardless f the psitin they are at the mment -- fr a certain perid f time (entered in the Output Test Timeut (sec) in PwerSuite). Issuing cmmands is allwed using a Pin-Cde. NOTICE: The default Service Access Level passwrd r Pin-Cde is <0003>, which may be changed fr security reasns. Alarm Outputs Islatin (Output Blcked) When the user activates the OutpBlcked cmmand, system alarms will NOT trigger any alarm utput grup (similar t relay islatin), except fr the OutpBlcked, AOG grup, which is always Alarm Output Grup 18.
