The design f the ceramic cktp utlines the area f the surface element underneath. Make sure the diameter f the pan matches the diameter f the element utline n the cktp (See Figure 1). Heat is transferred up thrugh the surface f the cktp t the ckware. Only flat-bttm ckware shuld be used. The type and size f ckware, the number f surface elements in use and their settings, are all factrs that will affect the amunt f heat that will spread t areas beynd the surface elements. The areas surrunding the elements may becme ht enugh t cause burns. Abut the Radiant Surface E_ements The element temperature rises gradually and evenly. As the temperature rises, the element will glw red. T maintain the selected setting, the element will cycle n and ff. The heating element retains enugh heat t prvide a unifrm and cnsistent heat during the ff cycle. Fr efficient cking, turn ff the element several minutes befre cking is cmplete. Cycling at the HI setting is nrmal and can ccur if the ckware is t small fr the radiant element r if the ckware bttm is nt flat (Refer t page 12 under Selecting Surface Cking Utensils). Lcatins f the Radiant Surface E_ements and Cntrls Yur range is equipped with radiant surface elements with different wattage ratings. The ability t heat fd quicker and in larger vlumes increases as the element wattage increases. The radiant surface elements are lcated n the cktp as fllws: Mde/A (See Figure 1): - Tw dual 5 r 7 inch radiant element at the right and left rear psitin; - Tw duai 6 r 9 inch radiant element at the right and left frnt psitin; Mdel B (see Figures 1 and 2) and Mdel C (Figure 1): - One 6 inch radiant element at the right rear psitin; - One 6 r ne 8 inch radiant element at the left rear psitin (varies with mdels); - A dua! 6 r 9 inch radiant element at the right frnt psitin; - A 6 r ne 9 inch radiant element lcated at the left frnt psitin (varies with mdels); Mdel D (Figure 1): - A 6 inch radiant element at the right rear psitin; - A duat 6 r 9 inch radiant element at the right frnt psitin; - Tw 8 inch radiant elements lcated at bth the left frnt and rear psitins. - Between left frnt and rear elements is a Bridge radiant element. The BRIDGE radiant element is cntrlled using the same knb that cntrls the left frnt radiant element psitin. NOTE: Due t the high intensity f heat generated by the surface elements, the glass surface will turn green when the element will be turned ff.
